Breeding Guidelines
✦ All Pegasus of Faerie start with 10 breeding slots initially. They gain 2 additional slots per year, this goes into effect to the first of the year so a POF created in 2025 gets two more slots 1/1/2026, then two more 1/1/2027, etc.
✦ There is no cool down period, a pegasus can be rebred whenever an artist has slots available.
✦ You may only have one pending breeding at a time, another can be requested if slots are available once the pending breeding is completed.
✦ Pegasus of any gender can be bred together so long as they are not related within 3 generations.
✦ Breeding is open at artist discretion.
✦ Pegasus created prior to ownership change are valid but will need their height to be within current standards 28-34 inches. If you'd like to choose their height owners can simply post on the original adoption page.

What the heck do those crazy colors do in a breeding??
What a great question! As with anything, it's complicated and largely artist discretion.
✦ Two standard color Pegasus will follow typical horse genetics, at least approximately, genetics are complicated.
✦ Crossing a non-standard Pegasus with a standard colored will most commonly create a standard color Pegasus with accents in non-standard colored markings or mane and tail. Though it can result in a foal that is non-standard similar to the non-standard parent with color lightened, darkened or muted from the standard color parent.
✦ Crossing two non-standard Pegasus can end up with all sorts of combinations.
- It can result in colors from both, base from one and mane and tail from the other, for example.
- Or it can result in a color that would result from mixing those two colors together, like paint, so red and blue could result in a purple foal.
- Or it can result in an outcome between the two on the color spectrum so purple to yellow could result in a green, blue or teal foal.
✦ For this reason if you are looking for a specific color combination type, please list that in the breeding request. Breeding is largely artist discretion, there are a lot of options to create the opportunity for a lot of interesting combinations.
