After bloating a single post, I realized a thread would be better for all and easier to manage.
This is likely useful only for artists :')

Mutation clarification


- ALL MANES
- None
- No mane at all
- An irregular mane that leaves bare spots on the neck
- A short mane that stops at the chest or shoulders, and does not stray far from the neck
- Standard, medium-length mane. Stops somewhere on the chest/stomach. Can partially grow over face and shoulders.
- The mane closest to that of an actual lion. Long fur. Stops somewhere on the back and stomach, grows over part of the shoulders and face.
- A line of fur running down the back. Can be any length, and can run from head to tail.
- Long, straight mane of hair. FR veilspuns (need better descriptor)
- Mane made of actual literal feathers
- Mane made of actual quills / spines
- Finlike mane, either fishy or something closer to a frilled lizard
- ALL MUTATIONS
Scars (incl amputation), companions (not souls), and accessories are no rarity for all subspecies.
- Body / anywhere
- Scutes, scales, spines, fur, fire powers, spirit powers, feathers, sphinx, chimera, spirit body parts/companion, fins, gills
- Claws, gator feet, hooved feet, feathering
- Tail tuft, shorter/longer tail, gator tail, lion tail, scorpion tail, fish/shark/etc tail
- Fangs, sabre teeth, smaller/larger snout, custom large horns, custom small horns, dragon horns, manticore,
- Bird wings, bat wings


- UNIQUE MUTATIONS
Special traits that should mostly be saved for special events, milestones, if there just hasn't been one in a while, idk. I want them to be rare and special, but I'm not going to be too heavily moderating their use
- Manticore
- Gives the Ahemait a human face.
Sphinx
- Metal/stone/inorganic parts.
Made with the specific mental image of a masklike head on the Ahemait, like carved stone or something.
Can apply to any body part, though.
Chimera
- Extra head of another animal or body part of another animal. Must be a total replacement. Not just like, a hoof or something lol
A snake tail (like the head + body, chimera style), an extra Ahemait head, a dragon head, the back half of a tiger…..


- COLORATION
Most common Ahemait cannot be neon colors.
They can have neon accents or markings, but the entire Ahemait cannot be hot pink (for example).
The Ahemait does not need to be in realistic colors. One can be blue so long as it is muted, less ‘blue screen of death’ and more ‘robin egg.’
Only three of the five subspecies can be entirely neon:
- Pharoah
Permafrost
Fossil


- MUTATION CLARIFICATIONS
Some of these traits are very similar or feel like they need clearing up :]
- Body
Fur
- Applied if the Ahemait is furred (not mane). Does not need to cover the whole body.
Can stack with feathering.
- Large, hard scales on the body, gator or sturgeon style. Body armor.
Includes underbelly plates.
- Making a simple fishscale or scale-like pattern on the body.
- Quills, spikes, etc. that extend off the Ahemait.
- Ahemait is surrounded by spirits, wisps, ghosts, etc.
Alternatively, has ghostly body parts.
Head
Fangs
- Teeth are made larger, longer, or more plentiful than subspecies standard.
- Select teeth are lengthened more than the others.
Gives sabretooth, snake, or vampire effect.
Long teeth are not enough to be sabre if all/most teeth are made longer! That’s just fangs
Must be edited to be longer (permafrost Ahemait do not have this trait by default)
- Extend significantly out and away from the Ahemait's head.
Are large in proportion to the Ahemait's head and body.
Should be somewhat realistic (antlers, sable horns, etc)
1-2 large horns
- Remain close to head, for the most part.
Small in proportion to the Ahemait's head and body.
Should be somewhat realistic (velvet nubs, steenbok horns)
1-4 small horns
- The "go wild" option, any size, any shape, any number
Feet
Claws
- Claws added to unedited feet (or paws)
If the Ahemait has mutated feet (ex. gator) that takes priority, and they do not have claws.
For example gators have claws by default. So it doesn’t need listed as having claws
- Extra long fur on the legs/feet
