📀 Wermz Winter Event 📀 Community Quilt

Cedar has started a quilt but seems to have run out of fabric to make new squares. Ae have been asking other wermz if they would like to contribute, Veil and Fir have provided a square each but it still feels incomplete.

1. Flat colour, stitches are solid colour and not like template but they are still close to the original colours. Good!
2. Hole in center, doesn't break edges. Outline colour has been changed. Good!
3. Outline has been "removed" by colouring it to match the square. Shading is allowed too. Good!
4. Cutout designs within the square. Shading, coloured outlines. Good!

1. Do not recolour the stitches. Bad :(
2. Do not break the outline of the square. Not even only a little bit. Bad :(
3. Do not break the outline of the square. Not even if all stitches are still visible. Bad :(
4. Do not draw elements outside of square. Bad :(

RULES:

Art skill doesn't matter as long as your entry is not just a solid fill of a single colour.

Winners will be randomly rolled. A few may be hand picked if I find them particularly inspiring but majority will be random rolled.

- You may only submit ONE (1) square.

- Please keep your entry in the confines of the square, do not make the canvas bigger than 75px square, you may fill it however you wish*
* CS rules apply, no copyright designs/characters/logos/etc

- NO LINE EDITS OTHER THAN THE COLOUR, you are free to colour the main outline however you wish. You can "remove" the main outline by colouring it to match the inside. You can add a hole to the center of your square as long as the outside remains intact.

- The stitches must stay the same as how they are on the base. (or keep them as close as possible)

- Your entry has to be 100% your own! No commissions, bases or gift art from others.

- You can edit your entry up until the end date. 20th January 2024 23:59 (11:59pm) CS time, you can check the date and time here

- Written entries will not be accepted.*
* Some exceptions may be made if you are unable to do the art yourself, these will be mostly random rolled so don't be worried about your skill level, this is more for people who are genuinely unable to make an entry (acceptable reasons: disability, device capability, if you are able to read this, your device is likely capable). Not having time to colour an entry is not an accepted reason, sorry. Please scroll down to view your options for art programs to colour an entry. If you genuinely can't colour an entry, please open a ticket in the discord or PM Piine on CS to ask for an exception. This will require you to have written out an idea for your square into as much detail as possible. If you are able, you may also provide a traditionally drawn example.

If you are new to art and don't know what program to use here are my suggestions for free programs good for pixel art:

If you struggle importing the image at all the canvas is 75px by 75px and just copy the outline ^^

WindowsPC: MSPaint, nothing beats a classic. To open the base image go File > Open

Mac or WindowsPC: Firealpaca, great program I suggest to any starting artist. File > Open

Mobile/Tablet: Medibang Paint, Can be a little confusing at first but its a great program, this is what I personally use for all my mobile art.
Tips: To open the base image go to My Gallery > + > Import PNG/JPG, To enable pixel brush open the hamburger menu (≡) in the bottom left > Settings > Turn off Anti Aliasing 🗹

Any device: Magma, this is a free art program that works in browser. To open the base image use File > Import as new canvas when you are on a new canvas.

You approach Cedar to collect some sewing materials, ae have aer nose buried in a box of blankets. Cedar seems to notice your presence and turns around to face you with a happy but exhausted sigh.
"A bunch of kind wermz have been dropping off their spare materials, my cabbage box is overflowing with scraps and my fabric storage is nearing it's limit, I swear Veil is going to kick me out of the burrow at this rate.
If you've got a few gummies to spare feel free to grab what you want and take some burden off my paws."
The werm looks a little stressed but chirps happily and quickly returns to rummaging through boxes of fabric, meticulously organising the hoard of material.

Cedar has been tucked away in aer burrow sewing for a long time. The quilt is finally complete. Ae ended up recruiting a small army of wermz to assist in carrying the quilt to a large plaza in the shopping district of Eaden, hanging it for all to see as a reminder of the strong community built in the ramshackle city, each square lovingly made by a different werm.
