This fall the park service got started on cleaning up an abandoned junkyard in the Pisgah National Forest, however they’ve run into a bit of a problem - there are a few Carolina Shepherds living in the area that they can’t catch no matter how hard they try, so they’ve come to us for help! From September 14th to September 28th you can search the junkyard each day to find trash items, bank items, SAR points, and raffle tokens that correspond to the junkyard dogs, which will be raffled off at the end of the event.

Which dogs correspond to which raffle tokens will be a surprise until they are raffled off, however we have made them very easy to guess. For example, a dog hidden in a snowbank would have a raffle token of a snowball, or a dog wearing sunglasses, a swimsuit, and a beach towel would have a bottle of sunscreen for their raffle token.

How to play and rules:
Once a day you can visit the junkyard with one of your dogs to search for raffle tokens (1-5 per day, determined by RNG), trash items, SAR points, and bank items. Trail clean up traits count towards finding trash and bank items for this event, but do not affect the number of raffle tokens you find. You will receive a hint to the dog's genotype or phenotype that corresponds to the token(s) you receive. If you do not have a Carolina Shepherd of your own you may use one of our Club Dogs.

Please post only once per day to help keep clutter to a minimum and to preserve werepickle’s sanity sorting through the posts while they roll results for the day. You may edit your posts over the course of the day to update them as you trade for or trade away raffle tokens! You can also look for token trades on our discord as well. Wait for us to post the daily results post before posting again.

When trading raffle tokens you may ONLY trade them for other raffle tokens. Trading raffle tokens for SAR points, Carolina Shepherd items, Carolina Shepherd Dogs, chickensmoothie pets & items, and C$ is not allowed. Off-site trades for raffle tokens or trading raffle tokens for real life currency is not allowed.
Your chances to win one of the raffle dogs are based on your participation in the event and RNG. We want folks to have a fun time with trading and not have to worry about trading away things to get an advantage, feeling like they have to pay to win, or being frustrated that they don't have the resources of other players.

To transfer the raffle tokens BOTH people trading should send werepickle a message via pm or discord of both people listing what they are trading. For example a transfer could look like this:

The Pisgah National Forest rangers have identified ten dogs in the junkyard and provide you with the following information:

Achoo
The park rangers aren't sure what Achoo rolled in, but whatever it is causes Achoo to sneeze a lot. You can usually follow Achoo by the trail of colorful powder that they shake off of their fur and the sound of their sneezes.

Dusty
For whatever reason this dog always seems to be covered in dust. The rangers have reported a large stash of broken vacuums in the junkyard, perhaps this is where Dusty has made their home.

Elm
This dog likes to hang out in the bushes by the elm trees along the banks of the stream. The rangers haven't seen that much of this dog so they don't have a lot of information to pass on, but they have reported feeling like they're being watched if they're in the area.

Farmer
Farmer fiercely protects the few fruit trees that are growing in the junkyard and doesn't let anyone get close to them. They have occasionally been seen dragging branches with fruit on them around the junkyard to much speculation - is Farmer helping to feed the other dogs? Pruning the trees? Accidentally snapped a branch trying to get the fruit?

Fish
Every time the rangers come to the stream this dog is always happily paddling away in the water. Yes, every single time they've come to the stream. Every. Single. Time.

Jaws
Jaws is known for starting fights with some of the other junkyard dogs and doesn't seem to be very social to people or other dogs. Even though Jaws has a broken chain around their neck they can move silently around the junkyard so be careful.

Laundry Basket
This dog seems to have an affinity for old clothing and frequently runs around carrying or sometimes wearing various shirts, shoes, pants, socks, belts, etc. One ranger got close enough to see this dog sleeping in a laundry basket full of clothing and the name stuck.

Trail Mix
This dog is incredibly food motivated and got their name making off with more than one ranger's bag of trail mix. After some unfortunate trial and error through lost lunches and snacks (including a break-in of a ranger's truck!) they've determined that Trail Mix will eat anything and everything. The only thing that has kept their lunches safe has been hanging them from trees with a rope!

Rainbow
Rainbow always seems to get covered in all kinds of different paint. You can easily track where Rainbow is (or has been) by following the multi-colored pawprints all over the junkyard.

Wheeler
This dog is very fast and likes to run around the junkyard frequently, patrolling the outskirts and keeping peace between the other dogs. While it was hard at first to pin down where Wheeler is staying as they've been seen all over the junkyard, over time they realized that Wheeler was more frequently seen in the area with a lot of old tractor tires.
