Howdy!
First, I'd like to thank anyone who has shown interest in these silly lil critters! I've definitely put some work into bringing them to life, but its all worth it to see that people actually enjoy them!
Anyways, on to the news!
Since Sprigons are getting a small amount of attention, I figured I'd share a brief overview of my vision for where I'd like the Species to go. These things may happen in the near or distant future, depending on how quickly the species grow and how much time I'm able to put into them!
Discord
If the species gets enough active participants, I'd like to set up a Discord server for it! This would give us the ability to operate not only on Chickensmoothie, but offsite as well. Likely, it will start as a staff-only Discord and grow from there.
More Elements!
When I created the first Sprigon drawing, I was really inspired by thinking about a silly lil guy flying around in the sky, and I think their design reflects that as well. This gave me an idea of having alternate linearts for different Elements of Sprigons. The first two on my to-do list are Water and Earth, which will be NR. I will likely also release some basic elements of varying rarity as well.
Breeding
After I finish the Water and Earth elements, I would like to introduce breeding, which will be introduced with v2 of the species. This will work about as one would expect - two parent Sprigons can create a batch of Sprites (baby Sprigons) that inherit their colors and traits from their parents. However, then there is the added complexity of the different elemental Sprigons being able to breed. The offspring will have a chance of inheriting either element from either parent, with the chance depending on the element involved; OR, the offspring could have a very small chance of combining the two elements into one new element, which would be determined by myself and the breeding artist. The resulting element would be an upshift of rarity tier (for instance, breeding an Air and Water Sprigon together, which are both NR traits would result in a new Common tier Element trait) and would become canon for the species (so from then on, anyone breeding those two elements together would get the same result.) My hope is that this would bring a lot of excitement to the species, as users are able to breed their Sprigons together as a community to uncover all the possible element combinations. However, this is also a somewhat complicated system to put together, and will likely be released in small steps as I figure out how to implement it best.
Events
In the meantime, I would like to make sure there are plenty of Sprigon events; not just for holidays but for any occasion. I've even thought about putting together different reoccurring 'seasons,' each wherein a different Rare element of Sprigon along with restricted traits would be available to earn throughout the time period of a few months. The first Sprigon event will likely occur when the Water and Earth linearts are released, with the ability to earn event MYO tickets to create Sprigons of those elements.
So, that's a good summary of what I'll be working on for the foreseeable future! For the immediate future, the plan is to get a solid full-time staff together and continue to build up the basic foundation of the species. I'm currently working on the Species currency, Spribloons, and also adding visual references for the current trait list, along with making adopts in between!
