- What is an event in a closed species?
- A Closed species event refers to a specific occasion or activity within a closed species where the creator of a closed species opens opportunities for others to participate in or contribute to that closed species for a limited time. These events are organized to encourage engagement and the growth of the closed species community. An event often includes character development challenges, adoption opportunities, and contests that allow participants to showcase their creativity.
Closed species events can happen at various times and for multiple reasons within creative communities. The species owner can host these events to mark anniversaries, holidays, or milestones; they could encourage creativity or support fundraising. Events sometimes have particular themes or limited releases, while others invoice collaborative projects or prompts.
What is a booth?
- A booth is a channel or forum in a community designed to engage community members and encourage creativity (generally during events). These games can include an array of different challenges but will often include creating artwork or stories following specific themes or prompts and- in return- receiving items, currency, or characters to use, sell, and trade within the closed species community. Event booths can vary widely and depend on the preferences of the event organizers and the closed species communities' goals, but will aim to celebrate the creativity within the community! More information on how to participate in a booth can be found on the first page of the booth's hub. [Example Booth]

- Event Chicoons
- A maximum of 10 chicoon adopts can be put on one oekaki canvas. The chicoon designs must not be obstructed or overlapping.
- Chicoons distributed during an event must have an original design, similar markings may be used for multiple chicoons, however, every chicoon must have a unique aspect to their design besides the palette or minor changes in placement or orientation or shapes/spots/stripes. Image Example.
- Chicoons distributed during an event can have the same lineart and traits list, however, markings and designs of a chicoon must still follow the event chicoon guidelines.
- Rare traits are reserved for every 50 chicoons made through the main event page, these are considered “Event Milestone Chicoons” An artist can request permission to make an Event Milestone Chicoon through the chicoons staff discord milestone discussion pinned document.
- When IDs are within 10 chicoons of a milestone- users should only make posts with one chicoon to adopt, this is not applicable through booths or if the artist posting an adopt is the user who claimed the milestone.
- “Color a ___ get a ___” Events, mini-events, games, or booths are not allowed to be hosted by any user other than a chicoons moderator.
- Any official Artist or Moderator may host a booth, Nursery-specific artists, Archive/Approval Assistants, Item Artists, or Helpers may not, however, all roles can assist a booth host as a guest artist.
- Chicoon staff members (including all artists and moderators) are not required to host a booth, make event chicoons, or participate in an event.
- Booths are not required to distribute premade chicoons or items as rewards. Booths are not required to distribute items or myos as rewards. (IE Character Creation Booths)
- Event Chicoons do not count towards staff stickers. Artists who make a minimum of 5 free chicoons during an event will receive items on the “Artist Rewards” post at the end of an event.
- Event Chicoons DO count towards an artist’s activity if they are distributed as free chicoons; distribution can be through booth rewards from a booth hosted by the artist, main thread competitions/raffles, or designs through another hosts’ booth. The artist who designed the chicoon (rather than the host of the booth) receives recognition for activity for the free chicoons.
- Booth Hosts are welcome to participate in their own booth, however, they are expected to treat their own form fairly as a normal booth participant, without an advantage.
- Artists who decide to host a booth or game must stay active to receive event items and rewards. Artists whose booth is closed for 50% or more of the event, have 4+ incomplete rolls/posts by the end of the event, and/or have missed clothing their booth 4+ times do not qualify for an “Artist Reward”
- Booth Hosts can request another staff member or their booth’s Event Guest Artist(s) close their booth without receiving an inactivity penalty as long as the booth has been closed for the day.

- A booth can have up to 10 booth-specific items. “Booth-specific” Items do not include a myo item (IE. “Coloring Plush” 2023), items that reward artist-made clothing/accessories (IE Pop’s Garbage Fashion 2022), items that reward premade designs such as chicoons or companions, items that are part of a plotline or are for storytelling purposes (IE. Basic, Feather, or Sparkly Lures 2023, and items from the main event hub such as the main event trait item (IE Water Potion 2022
- Items shared between multiple booths, unless listed on the main event thread or event shop, will still count individually as booth-specific items for both booths
- Booths are discouraged from naming items with names that exist as previously used items.
- Booths are encouraged to use items from the past in their event as long as the item keeps the same name, traits, limitations and effects of the re-used item. The item image can be redrawn to fit the booth as long as it is the same item, and the “flavor text” can be changed to fit the booth host or booth host chicoon. These are still considered booth-specific items.
- All new items that change the design of a chicoon must be approved by Buzz Aesthetic before being distributed through an event or minigame.
- Previously used items that changed the design of a chicoon do not need to be re-approved as long as nothing has been changed about the item effect.
- Booth Closures are chicoon designs made at the end of the event by the host or guest artist of a booth.
- Booth Closures must be posted within 3 days before or after the end of an event.
- Booth Closures have the same rarity/trait limit, and runner-up guidelines as a Milestone

- All EGAs must be approved by the moderation team before being hired by an artist, even if they have previously been given an EGA position.
- EGAs do not receive prizes from Event Artist Rewards at the end of the event; a booth host can give out items to reward their EGAs and/or create a chicoon for them with the same limits as a Booth Closure chicoon (This will not replace the booth closure chicoon.)
- Booth hosts are additionally welcome to reward EGAs in any way they see fit; IE USD, art, c$/Pets, existing chicoons, etc.
- The Moderation team reserves the right to remove an EGA from their position if the EGA’s actions/attitude does not follow the chicoons guidelines/rules

- Flash MYO ^; Participants receive a myo that (if unused) will expire at the end of the flash myo booth. The myo has a certain set of limitations or traits that users are required to follow. These booths generally run in a very short time period (emphasis on ‘flash’) and generally no longer than 3 or 4 days.
