Calamity's Connections

You come up to a booth where you see a pair of goobies with very different expressions. One is excited, cheerful, and ready to go! She wears a bright smile, and watches for incoming goobies expectantly. Her partner meanwhile is a worn looking sort, who looks like he has seen his fair share of bad weather and wants to be anywhere but here. "Jason! We have a visitor!" The cheerful one exclaims, only to be met with a long suffering groan.

"Hello I'm Calamity Jason and this is our booth. Please follow the rules, have fun, try not to kill each other or if you
do at least make it entertainin'..."

"JASON! Ahem, what he means is, please have fun, do your best, and we hope you make some new friends!"

"...That's what I said..."

Welcome to the Calamity's Connections booth! Here every day a new prompt will be posted. With these prompts, they need to be answered in roleplay style, whether you like to write in first or third person is up to you. It should be noted though if you have a partner and work together for prompts, then the bounty reward is doubled for both players involved! There is no minimum here, the focus is on fun, but those who put more effort in will be rewarded for that as well! While new prompts will be posted every day, the deadline for each prompt is at rollover the next day. One last thing is that prompts can be answered on the forums or through discord, but if done on discord I will need a screenshot!

Bounty Prizes: 5 gookies per prompt, 10 if part of a pair!
Additional: Each day there will be 1-3 grand prize winners who get an additional 5 gookies and a chance at a mystery item roll!
Chances are for the mystery item 1 in 4, and the prize will be randomized between additional gookies or shop items!

Calamity Jason peered over at the goobies gathered, exhaling out. "So... this goobilee is a thing. How did ya guys all meet up? What are ya lookin' forward to tryin' the most? And don't say the gookies, that's cheatin!" Selia smiled warmly, waving to those around them.

"You can totally just say the gookies," she whispers, before nudging Jason in the side fondly. "Speakin' of, I'm gonna get us some of that gookie milkshake I keep seein' about... I wonder what sort of treats everyone else will get..."

Prompt answer:

Axl let out a long and clearly annoyed groan by the question of how he arrived here today. Ryou, the goob that arrived with him and now stood besides him, grinned wide. He was smiling ear to ear with his barely contained excitement. Ryou was absolutely ecstatic to be here for the goobilee.

"I heard about the goobilee. I couldn't come without bringing my pal Axl though. No way."

The black and pink goob wraps an arm around his companion as his smile somehow becomes wider.

"I heard about the goobilee and brought my pal Axl here to celebrate it with me! For me, im looking forwards to meeting new goobs and making new feinds. Axl here... He's just out to get some sunshine."

Axl rolls his eyes.

"Usually he's cooped up inside all day which isn't good for him."

"The sun isnt good for me Ry!"

"Details, details... I'm sure you can manage an hour or two."

Zora side eyes the goob in front of him nervously because he was totally going to say the gookies.
He quickly laughs it off and gives a different answer to appease the grumpy looking goobie.

"I wouldn't mind trying all the treats goobies are bringing with them. Maybe even exchange some recipes."

“hi, selia and jason!” velle happily said. he was very excited to be at the goobilee festivities, and even happier that his beloved boyfriend cal decided to tag along.

after a quick nudge to the side, cal reluctantly gave a quick and snappy “hey” to the two goobs running calamity’s connections. if he was being honest, cal did not want to be here. he really doesn’t like crowds, he doesn’t fare well in most relationships (besides his interest to velle)… he just isn’t a fan of goobilee. but velle, on the other hand...

“we’re so excited to check out all the booths here! and to meet new friends—”

“no. no friends,” muttered cal under their breath.

velle frowned a bit, but continued. “yes, friends! they’re beneficial for the heart! and the soul! and for your happiness!”

unsurprisingly, velle’s joyful encouragement didn’t reach cal the way he had hoped. “ew,” his partner responded, as they started pacing back and forth.

“anyways.. i’m looking forward to seeing all the sights and trying out the food!” food? that immediately brought cal back to the booth.

“velle..?” he said with puppy eyes, finally having warmed up to the situation, though ignoring jason and selia. “can i have all of your gookies..?”

velle laughed a little and replied, “maybe. depends how many we get!” then, he noticed a familiar face - “pitre!”

pitre looked over at who called him and walked over as he became more and more nervous to confront cal for the first time since goovolution. “hi, there!”

“cal, remember to be nice to him, okay? we can all get along! it’s the season of love! it’s goobilee!”

all of a sudden, cal ran away, leaving pitre and velle to explain the goovolution story to all of the confused and interested goobies.

“i just want cal and i to be friends again,” pitre softly said, trying to hold back tears.

"We've been friends ever since we were goos, so I can't exactly say I remember where exactly we met or how. I imagine our parents just thought it'd be nice if we had a play-date or something-" Xiv starts, only for Girasole to chime in. "Uhm, Xiv, honey. I think they mean how we me up to participate in the goobilee. But, may be wrong."

Both of them sort of look at each other for a second, but Xiv continues on while scratching at his head, now certifiably confused, but not exactly angry about it. "Well, can't remember how we met as a couple, but we met up to participate because our adoptive child, Sweets, is running is booth here. They wanted our help setting up the wheel, so we were just sort of here when everything started up. Suppose we're excited to participate in the booths, have a bit of fun. But if anyone messes with Sweets when they're running their booth I'm gonna-"

"AHAHA, Xiv!!! Means that we're going to make sure Sweets has fun running their booth! Without hurting anyone. At all." Girasole comments, watching as his partner grumbles a bit, only to calm down again after a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Oh-- I don't really know anyone here. I'm what you would call a lone wolf artist," Yayoi is not bothered by the slightest at being alone, in fact, they seem to radiant an usually amount of curiosity and excitement, "--but given the size of the crowd, I'm sure I'll meet an interesting variety of art muses. It's what I'm here for after all~"

They had been struggling with a bit of art block and wanted to experience something new to help get their creativity flowing. When they heard about the festivities going on, they immediately jumped at the chance to go, and brought their sketchbook with an assortment of pens with them.

"I mean, you never know what kind of things are going to inspire you, and--" Yayoi gestures to the rest of the crowd, "Look at how many different individuals are out there with their own unique styles and vibes, I can't wait to meet them."

Prompt answer:

Okomori blinked once, then twice, and a third time. He slowly turned his head to the empty space on either side of him. There was no other goobies here with him. He clicked his tongue, not a sign of distaste, but actually a tell of his nerves.

"There....uh isn't anyone else here. Are you alright?"

He raised a brow and his mouth twitched into a lop-sided frown. Upon the comment and warm smile from Selia, Okomori tried to fix his expression, but could only settle on neutral and deadpanned.

"I can't say I expected a festival of love. I think its very sweet."

His voice showed little to no inflection of his current state of emotion, however he did speak with what could be interpreted as soft kindness.

"However, I am quite excited at the chance of meeting someone I could consider a friend...I think that is what I'm really doing here."

xahria and kiyomi glace at each other letting out a quick giggle at the two's antics before taking the chance to answer their questions.

"we're both farmers, in our own way. I've been selling at the market every weekend for years now and when one day a new goob moved in across from me i couldn't miss that opportunity!" Kiyomi laughed nudging xahrias shoulder.

"its only been a couple months since then but" they smile looking fondly at kiyomi, "im always grateful she took that chance to get to know, and annoy me"

Kiyomi took a step forward and placed her hand as a barrier between Jason and xahria, "ill let you in on a little secret, this is our first date!" a wide smile overtook their face as they stepped back to continue on, "but im most excited to see all of the goodies and maybe grab some ideas for my farmers stand, maybe even meet some goos who have similar interests!"
