The artist of the piece will be the one awarded Arkylian Coin. The characters pictured are the ones who earn the EXP. There is a separate form for redeeming Arkylian Coin and for redeeming EXP for that reason. If you are the artist and own at least one of the characters pictured, you can post both forms at the same time.

The process for redeeming EXP can be broken up into two simple steps:
Step 1. Post the EXP Redemption form here with all the correct info and links. Remember, always credit your artist! After posting, you will wait until a staff member responds to your post, awarding you the EXP your character earned.
Step 2. Copy a link to the staff member's post where your character was awarded that EXP, and post that link, along with the amount of EXP awarded and the new EXP total for your character to your character's thread. It can be very simple, no fancy coding required, like this:
That's it! Your character's EXP has been logged.

The process for redeeming Arkylian Coin is easy! You just fill out the Arkylian Coin Redemption form below. The artist of the piece will always receive Arkylian Coin equal to the EXP granted to the character depicted.

So EXP is nice and all, but what does it do?
Well, having characters with lots of EXP allows you to unlock prompts which, when finished, increase the size of your community and allow you to own more Arkylia characters!
A freshly started community can only hold up to three characters in it. Only characters who are from our five main species - Avidae, Chrysocyon, House Foxes, Pardofelis, or Shiagan Herders- count towards this character cap! Through prompt responses and EXP gain, you can increase the size of your community, and ergo, the amount of character slots you have available!
Your community must have a publicly available page (such as a weebly site, CS thread, toyhouse folder, etc.) Where you display, at minimum, your current level, max number of character slots, and current characters.

Denizens of Arkylia often take a break during the month
of March since many of the citizens can have instinctual
reactions to the changing season. What are your characters
doing during the break?
Seasonal
Spring - Growth
It's the season of the birds and the bees! How are your
characters adjusting to the warming temperatures and
the explosion of new growth?
Pair-Bonding
Pair-Bonding can be done between any two characters of
the same species! Pair-bonding prompts give a nice
bonus to EXP for the piece, as well as any pieces where
the bonded pair are depicted together!
Breeding Rites
Before being accepted as a mature individual capable of
taking care of young, an Arkylian Character must
complete at leas one of the following Rites of Passage.
There are three possible rites to choose from: The Rite
of Strength, wherein the character can be seen helping
their community after a natural disaster, The Rite of
Bravery pits your character against their greatest fear,
which they must overcome, and The Rite of Providence,
which tasks your character with feeding their community,
either through reliable farming and harvest, hunting,
scavenging or some combination thereof.
