Rules wrote:1. For the first 14 days after a Sweeten is released, it can only be traded for other Sweetens, or other user-made adoptables under specific circumstances (see below) It cannot be traded for feathers, C$, CS pets, etc. until after 14 days have passed. For example, if a litter is released on January 1st, and you decide to trade a Sweeten you adopted from this litter, until the 14th you can only trade it for another Sweeten or a user-made adoptable. After the 14th (15th onward), you can also trade it for feathers, items, or CS currency. If caught doing this, you will be asked to reverse the trade or both parties will receive a strike (attempting to trade like this again after results in an instant strike regardless of whether or not it's reversed.)
What are the circumstances regarding user-made adoptables?: If a species is hosted in the
User-made adoptable pets/characters forum or its subforum for extra threads, and
specifically allows trading across different species (see rule 5), you may trade them with Sweetens before the cooldown.
NOTE: You also may not ask for offers in advance either (i.e. "when the timer is up, I'll trade the Sweeten for C$ too! Feel free to offer and I'll hold onto it for you until the timer passes!). Do not try to have someone gift a Sweeten to you and then "gift" them currency either, this is very easy to catch.
2. You must have obtained at least three Sweetens to be able to trade litter Sweetens for other UMAs before the cooldown. Customs/breedings/Sweetens received from trades are exempt.
3. Sweetens can only be sold for offsite currency or real money if purchased with real money or it comes with art that was bought with real money. In the case of the latter, you can only sell it for as much as was spent on art.
Reminder that USD trades have to be conducted offsite, such as on Discord.
4. All trades and gifts are final. Gifts are automatically accepted unless the user protests or rejects the form. Please keep this in mind.
5. Sweetens are permitted to be traded for other closed species, but make sure it's allowed in said species. Some species, including UMA threads (such as Mutatoes, Fox-n-key, and Fuzzy Wuzzies) do
not allow cross-species trading, so don't conduct trades involving them here.
NEW: 6. You may not trade Sweetens for Cloudy Leopards.Reminder: you must own at least three Sweetens to trade litter Sweetens for other species before the cooldown expires.
Here's a list (though not exhaustive) of UMA threads verified to allow cross-species trading (so you may trade Sweetens for them, and also these trades are allowed before the 14 day cooldown ends):
- Puffpups
- Mewplings
- Pixel Buns
- Deer Bears
- Toebeans
- PS Adoptables
- Keekees
If not on this list, we strongly recommend you ask me or a mod first before trading. Otherwise, do so at your own risk.
6. If it becomes apparent that you're only adopting Sweetens only to trade for other UMAs (not wanting Sweetens in return) repeatedly or to sell them for only non-Sweetens currency/art the moment the cooldown ends, that's not permitted and you will be DMed about it. Doing so further may result in a strike. If you aren't interested in Sweetens, then please don't adopt one just so you can get a species you do like.7. A Sweeten with a green watermark cannot be traded or sold, only gifted.NEW: 8. Sweetens obtained from a free litter can only be sold for C$300 or less unless they have paid artwork (
that already exists at the time of the transaction) attached. Event Sweetens and customs/breedings do not have a price cap at this time.
NEW: 9. You may give Sweetens to people offsite, but you MUST ask me first, link me to the account of the user (in your form or to me in DMs), and inform said user of the proper artist credits and trading rules the species follows. If you do not do this going forward, your trade will not count. Giving a Sweeten to someone who does not use Chicken Smoothie means it has effectively left the community and I need to be aware that said user is not infringing on resell rules and is crediting me for my work as well as the artist of the Sweeten itself.
