Part of the Canam Dog Breeding Program
Before breeding a dog, you must complete the CHCP requirements.
Tests Required:
Hip X-Rays for evidence of dysplasia;
Elbow X-Rays for evidence of dysplasia;
Cardiac Exam for evidence of congenital cardiac disease;
Eye Exam for evidence of observable inherited eye disease;
and for dogs testing swsw on the S locus:
BAER (brainstem auditory evoked response) Test to determine hearing
Not all tests will be available at all times.
Submission for health testing will be open the day before or the day of.
Submissions entered before opening or after closing will be ignored.
Dogs who fail a test can retest only once EXCEPT BAER tests, a BAER test cannot be retaken.
