The signature jewel of the species that although comes is various shapes and sizes has been found to be somewhat of a mystery in its composition. It holds structure much similar to those of the more common crystals known to mankind, with the shape being not so directed by the crystal structure rather than the individual genetics and through force outside of the generally sharp edges and geometrical shapes as exhibited by the more common observed shapes amongst the species. However unlike most other elements of a crystal structure the jewel of the species has been observed to be extremely hardy, requiring great force to even allow even the slightest of cracks to appear on the jewel. Making the jewels more akin to diamonds in their strength out of the known elements.

However outside of the similarities in the basic structure and the hardiness the jewel possesses, it is so far unknown what exactly the jewel consists of. Other than it being part organic matter and fully connected to both the circulatory and nervous system. Being the heart of the powers inhabited by this species, the technical second heart of the species that has been found to be essential to the life of the species.

The species has been observed be able to wield a greater variation of different powers with each distinct category of powers seemingly being visible through the colour of the individual jewels. However even though there has been distinct categories that the varying abilities falls under there has yet to be any clear distinction of pattern between the different possible abilities that each individual may come to hold. With new abilities or combinations of such being noted with each passing trial. Something that has been noted in trials is that the powers the species holds even though partially inherited within the species, also has a greater amount of variation stemming from practice and the teachings amongst themselves.

Scientist has also noted that with the ever growing confirmed abilities that has been observed in use within the species that there has yet to be any individual in trial that has displayed all or even the majority of the abilities within their given category and has been deemed an impossibility with even the more skilled individuals most often showing merely a handful of the documented possible abilities with a varying level of skill.

Although scientists has been able to determine that the species started out with only the potential to hold a single category of abilities with the species seemingly having been divided into communities based upon their respective categories. Instead at current times the species today holds the potential for a multitude of categories of powers held through the multicoloured jewel. Something of speculation in it's origin, whether it as always been a possibility within the species but not documented because of the stricter divide between the different categories or if it much like many of the other mysteries of the species has come to be because of the high chance at mutation the species seem to carry.

Through trials it has been documented that much in the same way that any individual within the species no matter their skill level are only able to ever learn so many abilities within their given category of power. Any individual within the species has also been documented to even in the cases of holding the potential for multiple categories of powers hold one category as their main and most utilised. However it has also been documented cases of individuals holding categories of powers of the same level of use and even in cases combining abilities from entirely different categories of powers.

The powers the species holds in connection to their jewels has been observed to not solely rely on the power the individual is perceived to hold but also its compliment in what can be found when the lack of the specified category is found. Something that scientists so far has mainly been able to observed with individuals belonging to the categories outside of the elemental where the powers rely either on matters not entirely of the physical plane or matters unable to stand entirely on its own as a tangible thing. Such as death cannot stand outside the existence of life first.

Whereas individuals within the species that hold a power pertaining to a category of the elemental origin or similar has yet to be observed hold any resemblance of controls of the opposing matter to their individual category. Where individuals of an elemental or similar category instead have been observed to hold a power of the opposite state of their category with individuals holding the power of fire being able to simulate a control over cold through the simple removal of heat.
