Hello! Thanks for stopping by! You might be wondering what PPAA Treasure Hunting is.
The Playful Paws Adoption Agency is an adoption center focused on adopting out cats.
Treasure Hunting is a fun activity for our members to participate in every once in a while.
Each time Hunting opens, members can attempt to find items or cats - completely for free!
Every time a member goes Hunting, they have a 50/50 chance of finding something or not.
So will you try your luck and go Hunting in one of the various locations around the PPAA?

GUIDELINES

GENERAL

TREASURE HUNTING

♥--Members may only post to go hunting once per day while Treasure Hunting is open.

♥--Members should not whine if they do not find anything when hunting. Hunting is based on luck. Just keep trying!

♥--Any items or Tokens found during hunting will be placed in the Treasury.

♥--Random items can be exchanged for Tokens at any time. See the Item Exchange post for the exchange rate.

STRIKES & BANS

Double P Double A has a 3 strikes policy. Members get 3 chances before being banned.
Strikes will have a time period. After a certain date, a strike will be removed.
However, if a member reaches three strikes before any of the strikes are removed, they will be banned.
If a member is banned for getting three strikes, they will be banned from PPAA for a minimum of 3 months.
Strikes are for minor rule breaking. Stealing or other large rule breaking will get members banned forever.
Please pay attention to the rules!

When Treasure Hunting is open, members can post to go hunting once per day to try and find something!
Simply fill out the form below and post it in the thread. But make sure to do so only when hunting is open!
If you try to hunt when Treasure Hunting says closed, your form will be denied because hunting isn't open.

Each time you go hunting, you have a 50/50 chance of finding something or not finding anything at all.
A random number generator is used to determine whether you find something or not when you hunt.
Here is a break down of the numbers:

1 - 50 = nothing
51 - 70 = random item
71 - 90 = random Token
91 - 100 = cat

So each time you hunt, you have a 50% chance of finding nothing,
a 40% chance of finding an item, and a 10% chance of finding a cat!

Random items are classified as Collars and things like the Yarn
and Cobweb items you find in the different hunting grounds.
So if you find an item, it will be a random one or it will be a Collar.
If the number generator says you get a random item, the generator
will be used again to see if you get a random item or a Collar.
There's only a 20% chance you'll get a Collar, so if the number lands
between 1 and 80, you'll end up with a random item.

If you find a random item, the item you find will be
determined by which hunting grounds you hunted in.
For example, you can find the Ladybug, Flower, and Butterfly
items in the Fields but not the Neighborhood, River, Mill, or Forest.
What item you receive is determined using the number generator.
If it lands between 1 and 60, you'll get the Common item.
If it lands between 61 and 90, you'll get the Uncommon item.
If it lands between 91 and 100, you'll get the Rare item.
Common items can be found in multiples, so the number generator
is used again to see if you receive 1 to 5 of the Common item.
Uncommon and Rare items do not come in multiples,
so if you find one of them you will only get 1 at a time.

Random items such as the Jingle Ball or Bird Nest can be exchanged for Tokens.
You'll need a certain number of an item in order to exchange it for a Token.
Please see the Item Exchange section below for the exchange rates for items!

When you find a Token, which Token you find will be determined by the random number generator.
You might find either a Breeding Token or a Custom Token, and they can be Bronze, Silver, or Gold.
Bronze are the most common. Silver are uncommon. And Gold Tokens are, of course, rare.
If the number lands between 1 and 60, you'll get a Bronze Breeding Token or a Bronze Custom Token.
If the number lands between 61 and 90, you'll get a Silver Breeding Token or a Silver Custom Token.
If the number lands between 91 and 100, you'll get a Gold Breeding Token or a Gold Custom Token.
Whether you get a Breeding or Custom Token is also chosen by the random number generator.
If it's between 1 and 50, you get a Breeding Token. If it's between 51 and 100, you get a Custom Token.

ABOUT TOKENS

There are 3 types of Breeding Tokens that you can find!
All Breeding Tokens have a large B on them, for Breeding.

The Bronze Breeding Token allows you to request a litter with 1 kitten.
The Silver Breeding Token allows you to request a litter with 2 kittens.
The Gold Breeding Token allows you to request a litter with 3 kittens.

There are 3 types of Custom Tokens that you can find!
All Custom Tokens have a large C on them, for Custom.

The Silver Custom Token allows you to request a mediocre custom.
The Gold Custom Token allows you to request a complex custom.
Custom Tokens DO NOT pay for lineart edits - ONLY for the design itself!


ABOUT COLLARS

Collars are an accessory you can add to any of the cats you own!
Simply fill in the Collar Claim form found in the Item Exchange post to use a Collar.
You can choose any color, pattern, or type of collar for your cats!
Each collar you find can only be used once though, so choose wisely.


ABOUT OTHER CATS

Any cats that you find while hunting will be completely random color and pattern-wise.
When you find a cat, one will be designed just for you and can be found the Lost & Found!

Certain items found while Treasure Hunting can be exchanged for Breeding or Custom Tokens.
The chart below lists all of the rates for exchanging items for Breeding and Custom Tokens.

Items can only be turned in if they are all the same item.
That means you cannot mix and match!

For example, you can turn in 10 Jingle Balls to get a Bronze Token but not 5 Jingle Balls and 5 Flowers.

Q: Can I be an artist/moderator/co-owner/etc?
A: Playful Paws Adoption Agency is not looking for artists or co-owners right now. Moderator positions may open soon!

Q: How do I get a PPAA cat?
A: There are several ways to get a cat from the PPAA! Adoptable cats are available for a small fee as regularly as possible. The fee ranges between 1 and 5 C$ depending on the complexity of the cat's design. Simply find an available cat that you like and be the first to post the purchase form on its thread, send the C$ when you are told to, and the cat is yours!

Auctions and raffles are another way to achieve PPAA cats. Auction cats will have a starting bid between 1 and 5 C$, with a 1 C$ increase per bid, and an autobuy option of 20 C$. Auctions will take place anywhere from a few days up to a week, unless the autobuy option is chosen by one of the bidders. Whoever has the highest bid at the end wins the cat. Raffle cats are free to enter for and will take place anywhere from a few days up to a week. Once the end date is reached, a random number generator is used to choose the winner of the cat from the pool of people who entered.

PPAA cats are also obtainable through breeding and customs. If you don't have any PPAA cats of your own to breed, you can request a breeding between a Tom and Queen found in the Nursery. Breeding also costs C$ and the amount depends on how many kittens you want. One kitten costs 1 C$, two kittens cost 3 CS, and 3 kittens cost 5 C$. You can also request custom PPAA cats, which cost anywhere from 1 to 5 C$ not including additional fees for lineart edits.

PPAA cats can also be found during Treasure Hunting. If you do not own any PPAA cats to use as your Companion during Hunting, you can use any of the Toms or Queens listed in the Nursery. Simply put Tom or Queen, with the name of the Tom or Queen you want to use, where it says Companion in the Treasure Hunting form!

Some members who already own PPAA cats may also be willing to trade or gift their cats to others. However, you should never approach another member about trades or gifts unless you see that the member has posted in the fanclub saying they are trading or giving away their cats!

Q: Do I have to use my cats in the PPAA?
A: Nope! Once you purchase a cat through the PPAA, you have no obligations to participate in anything else PPAA-related. Feel free to take your cats and go breed them yourself. Use them as original characters in whatever way you want. So long as you're giving proper credit to rainbowpanda101 for the art and/or design, all is good!

Q: What if I don't want to pay with C$? Can I pay with pets instead?
A: If you do not want to pay for adoptable cats, breeding, or customs with C$, certain pets will be accepted in exchange for C$ according to THIS thread. Once a pet is exchanged for C$, the amount of C$ will go into your Treasury account. From there, you can spend it however you'd like. All pet exchanges are non-refundable, so please make sure you are 100% certain you want to exchange your pets. Please see the Treasury section for more details.

Q: How often can we adopt? How many can we adopt?
A: There's no limit to how often you adopt from the PPPA or how many cats you can own in total. Though, if you have quite a few PPAA cats in your possession, please be nice and let others have a chance to get some!

Q: Can I trade or gift my PPAA cats to other members?
A: Yes! Members can trade, sell, or gift away any of the cats purchased from the PPAA. There are no restrictions, either. Trade your cats for other cats or other characters/designs. Sell your cats for C$ or pets. Do whatever you'd like with them! Members are also welcome to advertise here in the main thread whether they're wanting to sell or trade any of their cats. But please only advertise once per page!

Q: Can I trade or gift my PPAA items or Tokens to other members?
A: Item trading and gifting is not available at this time. If enough interest is shown for this, it will be added in the future.

Q: Can we breed our PPAA cats?
A: Yes! Members can request up to 2 breedings each time that breeding opens. The cost of breeding depends on how many kittens you want. One kitten costs 1 C$, two kittens cost 3 CS, and 3 kittens cost 5 C$. If you don't have any PPAA cats of your own to breed together, you can request a breeding between a Tom and Queen found in the Nursery. You can also partner up with other members to breed your PPAA cats together! Partners may split the cost of their breedings, and any partners that request 2 kittens get a discount, where each partner only pays 1 C$.

Q: Can we get custom PPAA cats?
A: Yes! Custom PPAA cats cost 1 to 5 C$ depending on the complexity of the design you want. If you want any lineart edits, that will cost an additional fee depending on the edit. Small edits like changing the ear shape or adding an expression costs 1 C$, while larger edits like accessories or body edits costs 2 C$.

Q: What exactly is the Playful Paws Competition Center?
A: The PPCC is a thread where members of the PPAA can enter their cats into competitions in order to try and win prizes. The prizes consist of Catnip, which is exchanged into C$ and put into the Treasury; Trophies; Sashes; and Ribbons. The Trophies, Sashes, and Ribbons can only be placed on the cats that won them. For example, if a member has one cat that won a Second Place Trophy that Trophy can only be put on the cat that won it – not any of the other cats owned by that member.
