_____Competitions are contests that pit cats from the Playful Paws Adoption Agency against one another in various ways. There are three different types of Competitions β Racing, Agility, and Show. Members that own cats from the PPAA may enter up to five of their cats in the various competitions, though each cat may only enter one of the three competitions during each opening. There are a number of important details used in competitions that will be helpful if you want to win. Everything relating to competitions will be explained here.βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
THE COMPETITIONS
AGILITY
Members guide their cats through an obstacle course set up on a grassy field.
Whichever cat completes the obstacles in the fastest time, with the least amount of mistakes, wins.
Some of the obstacles include teeter totters, A frames, and tunnels.
RACING
Cats are encouraged to run from one point to another in the shortest time.
Whichever cat gets to the finish line in the shortest amount of time wins.
SHOW
A judge evaluates the cats against established breed standards.
βThe cat judged to have the best appearance wins.

STATS
_____βStats are used to help determine how well a cat will do in a competition. Which Stats are higher may reflect which competition a cat is better suited to. For example, a cat whose highest Stats are Stamina, Conformation, and Temperament may be better suited to Shows, while a cat whose highest Stats are Concentration, Speed, and Stamina may be better suited to Racing. It will be up to the members entering their cats to determine which of the competitions they'd like to have their cats participate in.The Stats used are:
β
βConcentration, Speed, Stamina, Conformation, and Temperament
β
The specific Stats that are used in each competition are:
Agility β Concentration, Speed, Temperament
Racing β Concentration, Speed, Stamina
Show β Stamina, Conformation, Temperament

STATS IN BREEDING
_____Stats of kittens are determined by finding the average of the parents. For example, if the Stat for Concentration is 4 for Parent 1 and 2 for Parent 2, the kittens would all have a Concentration of 3. To get this number, you add the Stats of the parents and divide by 2. If the number is a decimal, it is rounded up to the nearest whole number. If both parents have the same number for a Stat, the kittens will have the same number for that Stat. For example, if the Stat for Concentration of both parents is 4 then all of the kittens will have 4 for Concentration.βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
ITEM BONUSES
_____ββThere are special items that can be given to cats that will affect their Stats during competitions. The items affect the Stats by either preventing a Stat from receiving negatives or by adding to a Stat. For example, if a cat is determined to be Distracted but has an item that prevents negatives to its Concentration, then it would end up having no effect on the cat. Another example would be if a cat is determined to have no change to its Stamina but an item is used to add to their Stamina, their Stamina score would go up.βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
COMPETITION FACTORS
_____Competitions Factors are certain circumstances that affect the participants of a competition. The factors are Attention, Weather, Energy, Anxiety, and Hunger. Attention affects Concentration, Weather affects Speed, Energy affects Stamina, Anxiety affects Conformation, and Hunger affects Temperament. Weather affects all cats the same way, while Attention, Energy, Nervousness, and Hunger affect each cat individually._____Whether a cat loses or gains points or doesn't have their score changed at all is determined using a random number generator. A number is chosen between 1 and 100. If the number is 1 to 33, then the score will be increased. If the number is 34 to 66, then the score will not change. If the number is between 67 and 100, then the score will be decreased. Scores can be increased or decreased by 1 to 3 points. How much a score increases or decreases is also determined by a random number generator.COMPETITION FACTOR AFFECTS
βAttention - affects each cat individually

ATTENTIVE: no change in Concentration

COMPETITION JUDGING
_____Competitions are judged by adding up the Stats. First, Competition Factors and Item Bonuses are applied to each individual cat in the competition to determine their final Stats. Whichever cat has the highest score after their Stats are added wins first place. Second highest score gets second place. Third highest score gets third place. Any cats that do not place will earn a small conciliatory prize for entering._____If two cats get the same score and are tied for First Place, a random number generator will be used to determine the First Place winner. The cat that doesn't get it will then be given Second Place, and the cat with the next highest score earns Third. If two cats get the same score and are tied for Second place, a random number generator will be used to determine the Second Place winner. The cat that doesn't get it will then be given Third Place. If two cats get the same score and are tied for Third Place, a random number generator will be used to determine the Third Place winner. The cat that doesn't get it will unfortunately not place and be given the conciliatory prize instead.βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ

TROPHIES, SASHES & RIBBONS
_____Trophies, Sashes, and Ribbons are achieved by winning First, Second, or Third place in Agility, Racing, and Show. Once a Trophy, Sash, or Ribbon is earned, the item is placed in the first post of the cat that won the Trophy, Sash, or Ribbon to indicate they won a competition. The Trophies, Sashes, and Ribbons will only be placed in the first post of the cats that won them. For example, if a member has one cat that won a Second Place Trophy that Trophy will only be put in the first post of the cat that won it β not any of the other cats owned by that member.
