History
- genetically engineered and raised originally in the desert, they migrated to the mountains during a particularly harsh summer. The group stayed up there for a great deal of time, learning to climb tricky inclines, finding footholds where none were apparent. Food was tricky and scarce, but that was nothing they weren't used to. A few returned to their original homeland, but it is far more common to find these hounds up in the higher ranges of mountains
Traits
- button ears keep sand, hail, and strong winds from getting inside
- eyes accustomed to bright lights, lowered risk fr snow blindness
- muscular body/legs allow for jumping great gaps/heights, suited for rock climbing
- cuts scab over quickly
- hypermobile [double jointed] toes can easily grip cracks in surfaces
- long eyelashes for a bit more protection from sand and dirt
- large lungs accommodate larger oxygen intake
- weigh upwards of 250kg
Quirks
- tend to walk and sit with head hung low
- when they run there's a slight hop to their step
- walking style sort of resembles prancing
- use nose and paws when digging
