hi guys! i'm going to be putting my 2nd staff custom galvani slot up for grabs in a contest. this staff custom allows for 1 rare trait and unlimited common and uncommon traits. i will ask the artist staff to have it done OR you can commission/ask someone else to do your custom design! i hope this encourages the community to grow as i doubt this will be the last contest of its kind from me. now onto the prompt!



hey, fortunatus, tell me a story . . .

tell me your vani in the form of a story. weave a bit of fiction
to give me a sense of the character without outright telling
me what they're like- show me their personality through your

here are things i judge for in advance:

ϟ a fleshed out, believable character with both strengths and weaknesses
ϟ original, but well-executed ideas
ϟ a good grasp of writing and style
ϟ less is more! concise but powerful writing is my favorite!

how judging will work:

as of feb.18 i'm going to judge this normally after some input/considerations!

i will pick up to 3 favorite entries, which all receive a set number of points based on these guidelines:

1-4 = each pick gets 1 point
5-10 entries = 3 points
11-20 entries = 5 points
21-30 entries = 7 points
31-40 entries = 10 points
41-50 entries = 12 points
etc.

every person who entered will then be allowed to vote for one of their favorite entries. you may not vote for yourself. each vote is worth 1 point and the highest total score from me and the votes combined will win. if necessary, staff will intervene in case we need a tie breaker. when voting is open, i will edit this post with a form for voting. voting will end 1 week after the contest is closed. any votes not posted in that period will not be counted.

the winner will pm me their design ideas / palette / a moodboard or whatever else and i'll submit it to the artists. ✨ next projected contest of this sort will probably be in the winter of this year, in case anyone's curious (or maybe earlier depending!)

I love this! Res! I'm reusing this idea cuz I like it too much

It starts off small. A mere walk through the lush gardens, around a decidingly difficult maze. It was quite large in truth and 5 statues lurked within it's confines. When the world of duchesses and dukes were too much to process for the young woman she simply excused herself and made for the maze.

Truly a work of art, this maze was. She trailed around it slowly and with purpose, building up her courage day by day to go inside. From the top castle window, the newly widowed Duchess watched with growing anticipation and Irvina knew she did. It made her smile to know someone approved.

Her admirers, cowards as they were to stand to her only when the presence of her 'husband' was gone, would let out astonished gasps of horror. Her friends, not that she had many, were also dismayed by this unladylike activity, the mere thought of dirtying their skirts enough to send them into a faint. But Ivrina was not to be deterred. She smiled patiently at them all and with the Duchess's approval still in her grasp, she carried on merrily.

One day, with shoulders squared and determination glinting steely in her eyes, she crossed the threshold. Later she would laugh about her reasoning to do it then, but in that moment she had something to prove. A rather rude admirer had to put it simply called her a fraidy cat. He and the others had sat back for months watching or trailed after her around that blasted maze for months and she had never once stepped inside. Well Ivrina, sharp as a tack in both tongue and mind, whirled on him a moment later.

"I can do it myself!" She threw the words with such force the young man almost staggered. While his cohorts sniggered at his predicament Ivrina stormed up to the maze.

I am a life saver. A blind one at that. I lost my eyes saving someone's life.
No, I'm not a life guard at a beach or someone who works in an ambulance. I wait in the shadows. I listen for the sound of danger and the unknowing gal in danger.

A truck honking and loud breaks squealing to my right indicate that the truck driver didn't see whoever it was that was crossing the street. A baby cries.

Then I hear the rolling of the stroller. A woman and her baby are about to die. I hear the stroller stop, and a panicked scream.
