Fitting Bettatails into Kandytaylz

So, if you don't know already, my friend's bettatails are closing.
Thing is, I still own the lineart, hooray!

So, I want to see how I can get it into my own adopt, Kandytaylz.
Here's the current Bettatail lineart:

(yes, it's different whether they're male or female)

So, how could I change it to fit into the Kandytayl universe? Or maybe a good story to make the normal one fit?
