Coat Rarities
Pretty much any natural coat color you can think of is found in German Winter Drafts. However, a few natural coat colors are pretty rare, as they are mostly found on chimerics and shorthairs.
These rare coats include:
Perlino
Cremello
Markingless/soild Black
Marking Rarities
Every type of natural markings from sabino to tobiano and splash to solid, are found in GWD. There really are no rare marking types, although there are a few that are more uncommon than others.
These uncommon markings include:
Leopard/Near Leopard Appaloosa
Birdcatcher Spots
Badger Faces
Manchato
(more will be added as I think of them)

On special numbers such as #50, #100, #150 ect. the GWD will be special and will have some sort of rare marking. 50s are not quite as special as 100s, but they will be special in some way to set them apart.
Brindle
So far, the only brindle seen in GWDs is what is already apart of the dun gene. There is still a possibility of a mutation of sorts to cause irregular brindle, but at this point it hasn't been shown yet.
Chimeric
Along with Shorthair, Chimeric is one of the rarest mutations within the GWD species. It hasn't yet been seen, although it is a known mutation in the species. Once a Chimeric is caught, it will first be compared to normal GWD, to monitor the differences between them before being adopted out or sent to a specific stable.

Shorthair
Shorthair is probably the rarest of the rare in GWD. It is, just as it sounds, a draft born with a short coat, unlike the normal long coats. Generally, Shorthair GWD are cremello or perlino, and can't be brindled or chimeric as far as we know.
Edits
Occasionally, there will be 'edits' to the original lineart of the species, adding things such as a bridle, a bow or flower, or things like that. This is not a common thing, and will only happen on some special occasions, such as during a Fall Celebration.

Unlike most species, German Winter Drafts cannot breed at all times of the year. Because of the cool climate they've been used to, GWD can only breed during the winter months of November, December, and January. However we are in the process of creating items which can be used on mares to help them safely breed at other times of the year, and even some that allow them to breed more than 10 times in their lifetime. At this time they are unavailable to the community, but will be shortly.
GWD only breed within their species, and cannot breed with animals of other species, or even other types of equines.

Every year for a week in October, a celebration is held in honor of the breeding season approaching. At this celebration, you will have the chance to win special GWD and even more special items. It is only for a very short amount of time that the celebration is open, and the community will be notified on the fanclub when it opens!

Because GWD are such a friendly species, they tend to find friends in all types of animals. For the most part, though, their companions consist of cats and dogs. And in some cases, which is not uncommon, they are found being trailed by an abandoned adolescent wolf. Because they are bred in mountains, they find pups and young adults left behind by their packs due to low eyesight or hearing, or a birth defect of some sort. When this is the case, the drafts will take them in and protect them until they are adults, which in turn the wolves return by protecting the foals of the GWD.

A question I get a lot is "will you be holding an artist (or any staff) comp soon?" The answer is almost certainly always going to be, no. To be on the staff is a tough job and won't be given out lightly. It's up to me (and sometimes I have to ask my already-staff-members for opinions) to find people who fit well and have the ability to keep up with everything that's going on. While we do have a pretty laid back community and adopt, there is still quite a bit in the background bustling around.

In order to get any type of custom, semi or full, you'll have to watch the fanclub or be in one of my streams. The artists I have at this time are not allowed to give out customs or anything like that unless I give them permission, so you're more likely to find one from me. If you PM me or any of the other artists/staff about getting a custom, you will receive a warning. This might seem like a bit much, but I know how annoying it gets for people (new and old in a community) to constantly PM and ask for these types of things when it is clearly written that we don't allow that.
