Bear was born on a hot summer afternoon, in the middle of Nevada. It wasn't the hottest place one can get, but fairly close. At the time of his birth Bear's coat was not unusual, but as he grew so did his coat's length. By the time his coat had reached its maximum fluffiness, Bears father had left, divorcing his mother and leaving with another kalon. Bear's mother was saddened by his leaving, but continued to do her best. With only one source of income Bear and his mother lived in what they had, and what little they could get. When Bear graduated high school, he left for a colder region. His mother, frankly, was glad to get him out of the house. Bear's own motives for leaving were his mother's nagging and the fact that his coat was so thick that the heat in Nevada was excruciating for him. He had gotten his coat trimmed once, and it had done very little to help him. His fur had been so thick that it was difficult to cut, and in the end his fur was at irregular lengths.
Bear never went to college, while he was smart enough in his own places, school had never been easy for him. Where he was going, no one would ask. He wouldn't need a highschool diploma, he would catch animals and sell their furs, or maybe feathers, but either way he'd get by.
Bear moved to his colder climate, and proceeded to live out his life as he told his mother. Not much ever happened aside from him pulling someone out of a blizzard every now and then, or maybe rescuing them from an actual bear, and that's what he liked about the place.
