CLR Information Center

About CLRs:
European racing horse
They wear medieval-like tack that is most often comprised of various fabrics and leathers, but is every so often made of a light metal that does not inhibit their racing abilities. This will be an interactive adopt with races and events year round (when staff members have the time to run them, of course), that will have all sorts of official prizes such as Custom/Semi-custom CLRs, Custom/semi-custom tack, and a variety of medieval currency that can be used to buy tack. Smaller events can also be run by members of the community, but the prizes will have to be given out by them (prizes can be things like slots to their CLRs, art, writing, CLRs (if they wish to rehome them). They cannot give out prizes such as custom tack, or custom CLRs. Only official staff members can.) When you rehome a CLR, all of their tack at the items that you have applied to them will go to the new owner along with the CLR.

Idea: for genders, for common CLRs, both mare and stallions are called peasants. For uncommon rarity CLRs, mare=lady and stallion=lord. For rare CLRs, Princess=mare and Prince=stallion. For the very rare ranking horses, queen=mare and king=stallion. For Legendary ranking horses, Goddess=mare and God=stallion (there will only be one each of these and they will be the CLR official mascots and the "sire and dam" to all other CLRs). For this species I am not planning on having confused horses gender-wise meaning everyone is both biologically and mentally either male or female. It is not meant to be offensive and I hope everyone can accept this.<3
The tack that a CLR sports is directly correlated to it's rank. Were the CLR to acquire new tack it's rank can increase at any time c: Please note that, although it is odd, nobility in the form of ranking is not passed down to the foals. Each CLR, unless they are event or paid customs, will begin as a common level CLR. Tack upgrades can be earned through official CLR staff-run events and paid customs (this will be the more rare of the two). There will occasionally be a "choose the tack" competition. This will probably on occur on special occasions such as holidays or every 100 CLR made, etc.

rank levels:
--peasant (partial premade tack)
--lord/lady (fullbody premade tack)
--prince/princess (partial custom tack)
--king/queen (fullbody custom tack)
--god/goddess (Iridia and Ouroboros will be the only ones ever made)

--1 month irl=1 year in CLR time. CLRs retire after 18 years their time (aka 18 months our time; 1 year and 1/2). They loose the ability to breed and participate in events unless you purchase either the unicorn tears item, the phoenix feathers item, or the chalice of youth item.
--CLRs are born 1 year old (one month our time), you must wait four weeks (our time) to breed your foal. Adopts begin at the age of 2 and you must wait one week before breeding them. However, I would advise against breeding them so early on because they only have five breeding slots (unless you purchase more with tokens from the token store; a max of 5 can be purchased giving CLRs a max of 10 breeding slots), and foals gain extra skill points from their parents when born. If your CLR has less than 50 total sp when breeding, it will not pass any extra sp to the foal.

--Regarding the contacts: I am thinking of doing solid colors for normal eye colors on CLRs (can be unnatural colors though like pink and red, but cannot be black or white/silver). However, contacts will be needed for things like changing the eye color your CLR came with, for black or white/silver solid eyes, differently shaped pupils (cat/snake, etc.), or for "patterned" eyes (stripes, spotted, etc.). And for heterochromia those will mostly be contacts, but they can occur in natural eye colors. Eye colors that have been altered by contacts have a 15 percent chance of passing to foals, 30% if both parents have the contact item

--The only guidelines I have regarding selling adopts is that artists come to me to ask for permission before selling them for anything other than official CLR tokens, breeding slots, or horses. (I might, in the future, allow for artists to ask for things pike DA points, c$, cs pets they really need, etc.)

(For me:)
these things need to be made:

-information thread (tack limitations, breed info, rarities, currency info, etc.)

-main event thread (Racing, jousting, and show (tack competitions) (may add more events) run-off threads; Grand opening magic event thread (special tack and possibly special add-ons to the CLRs))

-fanclub

-Camelot Rider Official Acronym Guide (CLR= Camelot Riders, AR= Aurum, SP= Skill Points, etc.)

-breeding thread (Breeding info (cooldown is two weeks) and artist slots)

-archive (separate sections for customs, breedings, tack, event prizes, retired CLRs, and adopts, also skill archives (runoff of event archives))

-custom thread (with going prices for both CLRs and their tack (mostly DA points, sometimes other currency)

-look for moderators and archivists

-currency (multiple token types with varied worths) Call them Aurum (latin for coin or gold)

-the rest of the basic tack

-mini art (tokens and decor for the main posts)

-event image, tack shop image?, main archive image (stable), information thread image (bookshelves)

-Dia and Boris will be the images for the main thread and fanclub.

-coding for all of the threads (will hold a competition soon)

-hold a competition for advertisement (banners, stamps, etc.)

-map of the lands (maybe in the sectioned off format where different parts of the image lead to different links?)

In the FAR future maYBe: A human ref for the CLR's partner species (their human riders))??

skills:

sp stands for skill points

Each CLR adopt is born with with 10 sp which the artist chooses where to place. For breedings, the foal starts at 10sp, and for every 50 points each of the parents has in total skills, add 1 point to the foal's total. That means that a foal can be born with a maximum of 12 extra sp from their parents (that would mean both parents had filled out their skills entirely to the 300 total max.) The artist also chooses where to place these points. A user gets to choose where to put their points when they purchase sp in the token store, earn them in competitions and events, or they are awarded as bonuses for tack upgrades. (Can be a combo of premade and custom tack, must have at least fullbody tack (halter, bit/reins, and saddle/blanket) to participate in racing or jousting events. If they only have partial tack, the only ones they can participate in are tack show competitions, character development, and training events)

All riders come with the remade halter, so it does not count toward the tack upgrade

tack upgrades offer the following skill points:
--premade partial tack (outside of the halter, i.e. the bit/reins or the saddle/blanket): 5 sp/per tack item
--premade fullbody tack (bit/reins, saddle, and blanket at the same time): 15 sp total
--custom partial tack (halter/bit/reins, saddle, or blanket): 10 sp/per tack item
--custom fullbody tack (halter/bit/reins, saddle, and blanket at the same time): 30 sp total

The skills are as follows:
Total: --/300

Speed: --/50
Agility: --/50
Temperament: --/50
Training: --/50
Strength: --/50
Endurance: --/50

All CLRs being with 0 training skills. The 10 skills they are given at birth must be divided into other sections than the training section.

events and competitions vary in the sp amounts they offer, and it is specific to each event. The sp prizes will be posted in the competition's prize section.

If all the clrs are directly linked to the mascots, how will breeding work if they are all related?

Hm. Good question. Well, the idea of Iridia and Ouroboros is based off of the mythology behind the Greek deity Gaia, who was the "mother of all". This link explains her mythology further in depth: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaia_(mythology). My idea for the mascots is that they are not actual beings, and instead, they are a sort of deity as Gaia was believed to be. So technically, the CLRs are not actually "related" to the mascots or each other, it is more so that Iridia and Ouroboros are their creators. I liked the idea of the foundation CLRs being sired and damed by the mascots as it creates a sense of beginning for the species, instead of them all coming from unkown parents. If this didn't make all that much sense, I apologize. Please don't hesitate to ask more questions on the matter if you have any! c:
