Ichigo is passive and naive, but not naive to the point
where he does not understand most things, in fact he
is a very intelligent Kalon, I mean naive as in he still
has an exceptional belief that there is only good in
the world. Being passive on top of that leads to
the most cheery and pleasant Kalon around.

He could almost be compared to what he is made out of
- whipped cream for his soft and cuddly side,
biscuits for his strong and tough side,
strawberry Jam for his especially sweet nature
and a sour strawberry for when he gets upset
and feels overworked and underpaid.

Ichigo is a very approachable Kalon,
having basically been made by Rosie,
he has taken on her loving demeanor and her soft and
tender personality. He absolutely loves meeting
and making new friends and almost always considers
them family. There is not one Kalon that Ichigo has met
that he considers to be an enemy in any way or form.

Ichigo was not born like a normal Kalon.
In fact, this is probably the strangest Kalon alive.
You see, Ichigo was accidentally created by Granny Rosie
when she was trying out a new recipe
for strawberry shortcake, that had come to her
in a dream during the previous night.

Rosie added all the ingredients, but was fairly
startled when she realised that the batter was
cooing and gurgling and appeared to be alive.
Noting this, and being the friendly Kalon that she is,
Rosie sculpted him up, hunted down some pretty,
although mismatched, eyes and shoved the little Kalon
in the oven. Rosie had some time to think while Ichigo
was in the oven. After that, she was convinced she had
actually just added too much love to the mixture and
created the strangest Kalon around.

Rosie pulled Ichigo out of the oven and waited for
him to cool down a little before decorating him further,
where she kave him the best whipped cream mane and tail
and fed him full of strawberries, but realised he was missing
a Kalon shine and made the prettiest little strawberry shaped,
glassy, melted and sculpted, coloured sugar she could.
He was very excited by both his existence and Rosie's,
of course, he was only a young Kalon then.

As time would have it, and strange occurences,
Ichigo, who had been named for the very fruit he
had come to live by,
grew up into a fine Kalon and his cake body,
cream mane and tail and even his shine
set and became real Kalon features.

Granny Rosie (Owned by Glow)
Positive/mother figure

Ichigo has known Rosie for as long as
he's lived. The two have a very strong
bond and can often not be seperated
at all <3




Siricuse (Owned by Me)
Positive/Mute friend/Ice cream shop owner that supplies him with ice cream!

Siricuse comes past Ichi's
shop quite often, both as a friend
and as an ice-cream vendor.

Fawn was the first other Kalon
that Ichi actually met. Fawn is
a regular at his cake shoppe and
he absolutely adores having her around!

Neutral/little cake thief that Ichigo lets get away on purpose

Riku only comes to Ichi's cake shoppe
to order cake, eat it and run away on the
bill. Although this mildly frustrates Ichi,
he lets Riku get away with it nonetheless.




Akemi (Owned by RawrGoesTheLion)
Positive/Loves making her try his new recipes - she's his guinea pig (basically)

Akemi is the Kalon that Ichi uses as
his test dummy, especially when he has new
recipes he wants to try out, before using it
on any of his cutomers.




Camisado (Owned by Pastel Gore)
Sweet little child plume that follows Ichigo around, wanting to be his friend

It wasn't too long go that little Cami
started following Ichi around. Although
Ichi has no idea why, he often tricks the young
Kalon into sitting down and enjoying a treat at
his cafe.




Castor (Owned by cheez whiz)
Positive/ friend that he visits to buy fresh, sweet ingredients

When Ichi needs new sweets for his treats,
Cas is the first Kalon he goes to!
Although they only know eachother on a business level,
Ichio hopes that their frendship, out of the work
environment, may spark.




Riven (Owned by Aaron)
The spice to Ichigo's life - little crush?

Ichigo has a major crush on Riven.
Riven is the spice to his sugar and you know what
they say about opposites attracting ;D
Ichi often brings him treat parcels after work,
right on his doorstep <3

Sahara is Ichigo's best friend!
The two do almost everything together!
From going out all night long, to
relaxing in the park with a good book,

As most Kalons know, Ichigo runs a small Cake Shoppe!

Kalons flock from near and wide to get a taste of his latest confectionery masterpiece!
He has been taught by Rosie, by whom he was also accidentally created.
His Cafe serves a variety of treats and drinks for the whole family to enjoy!

His most famous days, being "Totally 'Tap'ulous Tuesdays", where you get free milkshake refills if you offer to taste test a new treat or drink. Although he uses the words "taste test", the treats and drinks never taste bad, so it's always a great experience!

Ichigo and Rosie's lively strawberry shortcake

1 1/2 pounds strawberries, stemmed and quartered
5 tablespoons sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
Whipped Cream, recipe follows
Whipped Cream:
1 1/2 cups heavy cream, chilled
3 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon freshly grated lemon zest
(Secret ingredient -Plenty of love)

Mix strawberries with 3 tablespoons sugar and refrigerate while juices develop, at least 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, remaining 2 tablespoons sugar, and salt in a medium bowl. Add heavy cream and mix until just combined. Place mixture in an ungreased 8-inch square pan and bake until golden, 18 to 20 minutes.
Remove shortcake from pan and place on a rack to cool slightly. Cut into 6 pieces and split each piece in half horizontally.
Spoon some of the strawberries with their juice onto each shortcake bottom. Top with a generous dollop of whipped cream and then the shortcake top. Spoon more strawberries over the top and serve.
Whipped Cream:
Using a mixer, beat the heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, and lemon zest until soft peaks form, about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes.

Ichigo's strawberry cheesecake

250g digestive biscuit
100g butter, melted
1 vanilla pod
600g soft cheese
100g icing sugar
284ml pot double cream
For the topping
400g punnet strawberry, halved and stoned
25g icing sugar

EQUIPMENT: 23cm loose-bottomed tin, baking parchment, plastic food bag, rolling pin, large bowl, dessert spoon, chopping board, kitchen knife, electric mixer, spatula, serving plate, blender or food processor, sieve
Make the base: Butter and line a 23cm loose-bottomed tin with baking parchment. Put 250g digestive biscuits in a plastic food bag and crush to crumbs using a rolling pin. Transfer the crumbs to a bowl, then pour over 100g melted butter. Mix thoroughly until the crumbs are completely coated. Tip them into the prepared tin and press firmly down into the base to create an even layer. Chill in the fridge for 1 hr to set firmly.
Remove the vanilla seeds from 1 pod: Slice the vanilla pod in half lengthways, leaving the tip intact, so that the two halves are still joined. Holding onto the tip of the pod, scrape out the seeds using the back of a kitchen knife.
Make the filling: Place 600g soft cheese, 100g icing sugar and the vanilla seeds in a bowl, then beat with an electric mixer until smooth. Tip in 284ml pot double cream and continue beating until the mixture is completely combined. Now spoon the cream mixture onto the biscuit base, working from the edges inwards and making sure that there are no air bubbles. Smooth the top of the cheesecake down with the back of a dessert spoon or spatula. Leave to set in the fridge overnight.
Un-moulding and topping: Bring the cheesecake to room temperature, about 30 mins before serving. To un-mould, place the base on top of a can, then gradually pull the sides of the tin down. Slip the cake onto a serving plate, removing the lining paper and base. Purée half the 400g punnet strawberries in a blender or food processor with 25g icing sugar and 1 tsp water, then sieve. Pile the remaining strawberries onto the cake, then pour over purée.

Ichigo's strawberry jam

YOU WILL NEED:
5 cups crushed strawberries (about 5 lbs)
1/4 cup lemon juice
6 Tbsp Ball® RealFruit™ Classic Pectin
7 cups granulated sugar
8 Ball® (8 oz) half pint glass preserving jars with lids and bands

DIRECTIONS:
PREPARE boiling water canner. Heat jars in simmering water until ready for use. Do not boil. Wash lids in warm soapy water and set bands aside.
COMBINE strawberries and lemon juice in a 6- or 8-quart saucepan. Gradually stir in pectin. Bring mixture to a full rolling boil that can not be stirred down, over high heat, stirring constantly.
ADD entire measure of sugar, stirring to dissolve. Return mixture to a full rolling boil. Boil hard 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Skim foam if necessary.
LADLE hot jam into hot jars leaving 1/4 inch headspace. Wipe rim. Center lid on jar. Apply band until fit is fingertip tight.
PROCESS in a boiling water canner for 10 minutes, adjusting for altitude. Remove jars and cool. Check lids for seal after 24 hours. Lid should not flex up and down when center is pressed.

Ichigo's strawberry lammingtons

INGREDIENTS

8 eggs, separated
2 yolks
190g caster sugar
80g plain flour
40g cornflour
40g butter, melted, cooled
5ml (1 teaspoon) vanilla extract
100g desiccated coconut
Strawberry icing
30g unsalted butter
4 tablespoons strawberry jelly crystals
300g (2 cups) icing sugar, sifted

Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease and line a 30 x 18cm lamington pan.
2 Place 10 yolks and 90g sugar in a bowl and beat until pale. Transfer to a large bowl. Sift the flours together, then fold into the yolk mixture.
3 Fold in butter. Beat eggwhites with remaining sugar and vanilla. Fold half the eggwhites into yolk mixture. Fold in remaining eggwhites. Spread into pan, bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven, cover with a tea towel.
4 To make the icing, place butter and jelly crystals in a bowl, pour over 250ml boiling water and stir to dissolve butter. Sift in icing sugar, whisk until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly. Cut sponge into 12 squares, dip in the icing, then roll in coconut.
