history;[summary]
in a nutshell, for the longest time, Salem's life was a non-ending slideshow of tragedy after tragedy. it took her too long to be able to feel fine; to feel normal in her own skin. unfairly so, the cycle of torturous memories and harsh times was kicked into motion by her own father, a twisted belgian kelpie named Bane. eventually, however, things began to look up for Salem, and let's just hope they stay that way.

after Nanook told her how she found her when she was a pup, and where, Salem constantly visited the location of her mothers death and her own near death, because she liked to sit and talk to the winds around her, hoping with all of her heart that her mother could hear her.

how she would react to having her own pup;
she would likely become very depressed for a good while before being able to come near the pup, worrying that she may do something to harm the fragile thing, being the broken, hurt being that she is, but she would eventually grow towards it and treat it like nothing else mattered in the world, growing suspicious of all who came near it for a long while, worried they'd harm it, then she would likely lighten up a little and become a little more open to letting her darling baby enjoy life and not be smothered by its mothers past.
