Oh, good, glad you could keep up! I'm sorry about the long walk here, but because Tvetyals can sometimes be unpredictable during evaluations, we've had to move the Testing and Evaluation Building (TEB) a little out of the way from the other buildings. Of course, the Contest Hall (CH) requires a lot of room for the courses! Anyway, I'll leave you be to explore these two buildings, but for the sake of a quick explanation: the TEB is where you can go to get your Tvetyal's temperament or stats evaluated. You'll need to do this if you want to ride or enter in competitions. The CH is where the competitions are held. If there is an upcoming contest, you'll need to register there! Anyway, I'll let you off! If you have any questions, please feel free to come find me!

Testing and Evaluation Building

Postby kivr & fireflii » Wed Dec 04, 2013 5:22 pm

Testing and Evaluations Building
Hey there, are you from the tour? … ah, I see! Well, this is the Testing and Evaluation Building. If you have a Tvetyal you’re interested in riding or entering in a contest, you’ll need to allow us to evaluate him or her first. Aside from the size requirements for riding, we need to make sure all Tvetyals are of sound temperament before training them. This will also be important for the safety of our trainers, you as the handler, and other Tvetyals and handlers in competitions. If you’re interested in taking the Temperament Test, which is free by the way, just fill out this form here and we’ll have it done shortly!

Contest Hall

Postby kivr & fireflii » Wed Dec 04, 2013 5:26 pm

Contest Hall
Hello, glad you stopped by, I’m Stephen, the Contest Manager! This is the Contest Hall (CB) where we hold all the competitive contests! Before I begin explaining the types of competitions, let me explain the Tvetyal involvement. As this is the International Conservation of Tvetyals, owning a Tvetyal is a requirement to participate. To keep things simple, we evaluate Tvetyals on five specific stats: stamina, speed, strength, agility, and mobility. As you can guess, most of our competitions are speed related. Like people, all Tvetyals are different and some are better in one aspect than another. However, these stats can be improved if exercised and worked on, which you can check out at the Training Service Program if you’re interested. Although, you’ll need to go to the Testing and Evaluation Building and pay a small fee to get your Tvetyal’s stats evaluated before you even begin competing.

The stats heavily affect the outcome of competitions, and here, we have several different types. The most popular competitions are the ground races, likely because riders get to be more involved and partially test their skills. There are two types of ground races: track and obstacle. They’re mostly straight forward, but just to be clear, track races are simply races to see who can reach the finish line first. Obstacle races are races where the rider must steer their Tvetyal to the finish line, but at the same time, conquer the obstacles along the way. Typically Tvetyals with high speed and stamina do well in the track races while Tvetyals with high stamina, agility, and mobility to well in the obstacle races.

Another contest we have are dock diving competitions, and as you might guess, they’re exactly like dock diving for dogs! Who knew? Anyway, the goal in this is to see whos Tvetyal can jump the furthest from a dock, and at ICT, we give each Tvetyal three chances. High speed and strength are required for this event, and I hope I don’t need to explain that.

The last type of contest we hold are the water races! Like the ground races, there are two types: individual and team. Individual water races are simple races where a Tvetyal alone must swim through checkpoints and reach the finish line first. The other race, another popular contest, is the team water race. In this one, riders are able to participate with their Tvetyal. The best I can describe it is similar to wakeboarding where the Tvetyal pulls its handler behind, and it is sure a sight to behold! The goal here is the same as the individual water races in the fact that the goal is to be the first to reach the finish line.

There will likely be more kinds of competitions in the future, but for now, that’s all we hold. Unfortunately, there are not any competitions going right now. Contests are rarely planned so far in advance, so we don’t have a schedule to hand out. However, you can keep a watch for any upcoming events online at our website or, if you’re lucky, one of the directors or managers might let you know if you ask politely! Enjoy the rest of your tour!

GENERAL INFORMATION FORM

      Handler
      Name: Sadbloom Artgeek
      Sex: Female
Experience with Tvetyals: Despite being fairly informed after reading up as much as I
could on these glorious creatures, I'm still fairly inexperienced in the realm of Tvetyals.
As of yet, their behaviours and mannerisms are shrouded with mystery to me and I'm
thoroughly interested in discovering what inhibitions lie behind their captivating eyes.
Now that I have acquired my first Tvet, I am eager to learn about the behavior and
reactions of these critters through time and observation.

      Tvetyal
      Name: Knoll
      Age: Adult
      Sex: Male
      Size: 35"
      Status: Domestic
General Appearance: This Tvet has a dark blue and white striped pelt. The hues of this gloomy
color layer it's fur and are darker the closer they approach the mane of this beast. His fur mane,
followed by the splash of color located on the inside of his ears, are a vibrant mix of red and
orange. He is reminiscent of a streak of lightning that contrasts the crowded cloudy sky of a
coastal storm. There are brilliant small markings peppered throughout his body, such as the
white flecks around his eyes, that aide his visual beauty. The white patterns on his skin also
quite remind me of the white flashes of the cool fire that is lightning strikes. Lastly his eyes,
heterochromic like the rest of this species, are a pale blue and green.

Is there anything you feel we should know before evaluating your Tvetyal?
There is nothing else that I feel is necessary to mention about this Tvet at the moment.

GENERAL INFORMATION FORM

    Handler
    Name: Katarina Ashwyn
    Sex: Female
Experience with Tvetyals: Since first being informed that this species existed
I have had a deep fascination for them and have read through all available
information on the species as well as gone on a tour of the ICT. That being
said I have very little practical knowledge of the Tvetyal species, though I
have been bonding with my own Tvetyal Casimir which has already taught me
a lot more about the species. I've only recently had my adoption of Casimir
cleared however, and I'm extremely eager to learn as much about the species
as I can, particularly with respect to behavior and such.

    Tvetyal
    Name: Casimir
    Age: Adult (2.5 Years)
    Sex: Male
    Size: 36"
    Status: Domestic
General Appearance: Casimir is a striking grey male. His underbelly is practically white, following with a soft gray, light blue grey, and then dark blue grey along his back and as his markings. His mane is a vivid orange and red, appearing very much like flames when he is running or moving about. Casimir also owns gorgeous heterochromic eyes, one a vivid orange like his mane, and one a more subdued orange-red colour. Generally speaking he maintains a pleasant and relaxed stance, not appearing threatening or obstinate with other human beings or myself. He's an extremely stunning Tvet, and I've received numerous comments and exclamations from disbelieving neighbours at how stunning he is. Honestly he reminds me overall of a bright sunrise or sunset over the great grey mountains near my home, fiery and beautiful to see, yet warming and soothing to be with.

Is there anything you feel we should know before evaluating your Tvetyal?
Casimir is extremely calm with most people, but I have noted him to get slightly aggressive and agitated when around heavily bearded men. I consulted Dr. Fell Litwick who initially rescued Casimir, and he surmised that this appearance type may remind Cas of the ones who slaughtered much of his bevy. Oh, and he responds to both Casimir and Cas.

TEMPERAMENT TEST

The temperament test given to Tvetyals are taken with extreme precaution. Tvetyals are rated on a one to five scale based on their reaction to various stimulating environments and actions. Please keep in mind that this test is given to evaluate the general reactions of Tvetyals in common situations. In no way can we guarantee any Tvetyal’s reaction in any irregular, startling, or fear inducing situation.

1 = very poor - - - - - - 2 = poor - - - - - - 3 = average - - - - - - 4 = good - - - - - - 5 = very good

Food possession: 4
Comments: Nosed plastic hand away. When pushed, he nosed the food bowl away. Not
aggressive, but not friendly. Would recommend only main handler feed Tvet.

Dominance: 3
Comments: Not aggressive, but possessive of toys. Pushed away human attempts to
touch or play with toys.

Loud noises: 2.5
Comments: Did not like loud noises. Startled and would not near object. Was not aggressive
of fear-aggressive, however. Would recommend a personal trainer, may become problem
with crowds.

Human contact (familiar): 5
Comments: Very calm, enjoyed personal attention from known handler

Human contact (stranger): 2
Comments: Wary, but calm around strangers. Tensed under contact, but not aggressive with
encouragement from familiar handler. Did not offer any friendliness. Did not test "heavily
bearded men" theory, issue may require personal trainer if planning to compete in contests.

Reactions to annoyances: 5
Comments: Very calm and patient to light annoyances. Would push away if pressure to mane
hair or horns was too strong.

Friendliness to other Tvetyal(s): 5
Comments: Very friendly and was willing to interact with both Wild and Domestic Tvets. Did not
mind being pulled away.

Unknown Objects: 3
Comments: Wary and hesitant. More calm with encouragement from familiar handler. After
contact, Tvet ignored objects he was not interested in

Other Notes:
Overall, fairly good. Cas had problems with loud noises and strangers in general. This seems to
likely be a cause of his experience with his previous Bevy. He has great potential in contests, but
we highly recommend hiring a personal trainer to work with him around strangers, crowds, and
loud noises. See TSP if interested.
