Workshop Two - Day Three ExerciseKalon Name:Yushin
Link to Kalon:Here! How many different places have they lived: Depending on how you count it, far too many or next to none. Yushin is almost constantly on the move, trying his best to keep himself safe at night, but hardly ever returning more than a half dozen times to a single campsite, or inn, given the luxury. He's always on the move, getting incredibly restless incredibly quickly. Growing up, he was raised in a pseudo-nomadic family, moving more from one family member's home to another as the inability to stay in each, for one reason or another, kept them going. He permanently resided in four different homes before he set off on his own at fifteen, as ill-prepared as he was at the time.
Why did they settle down where they are currently:As stated above, he really hasn't. How did he settle into the lifestyle? Well. It took quite a bit of practice to really learn how to survive on his own, under any circumstances. There were several times his shelters were blown, crumbled, or washed away, leaving him to fend for himself for a rather nasty night. But over time he's accumulated quite the talent for survival and exploration, and he never wants to miss a day of discovering something new.
Is there an ideal place they want to live, or are they already there:Ideally having someplace with a roof to sleep every night would be fantastic, because as much as he loves to travel, there are some comforts to cities and towns that he can't help but miss. But no singular location is "perfect." Even the most wild and exotic place isn't exotic if you stay there. So he's content to stay on the move, exploring every new location and every part of the world he can. Well. Anyplace without ants goodness gracious he hates those things. They get in your food, your clothes, your hair… horrible, awful things. Bleh. So he avoids camping out near any ant sightings, that's for certain.
What are the biggest moments that have defined their life:The biggest moments really came in the first couple of years when he was out on his own. At fifteen he set out, and by the end of that year he'd nearly starved to death multiple times, having to thank a few fellow travelers and kindhearted city folk for his survival. That really taught him the importance of not only having food but knowing what around him was edible, and in the most dire of circumstances, having a plan of action to prevent tragedy. Another one of his defining moments came at eighteen, when he was feeling pretty confident about all of his abilities and the world was at his hands. He was climbing a fairly tame rock face, compared to what he often did, but a bad foothold left him hitting the ground with a badly broken leg. He had to crawl for an entire day just to get back to a trail, stopping to rest in and out through the pain overnight, and it wasn't until late the following day that he was spotted and found help. Again, a bit of a reality check. He's had a few interactions that have left their mark, but when it comes down to it, these caused the biggest changes in his attitude and lifestyle.
Does their future have a bright or darker outlook, and can they change it:Very interesting question! All seems to be going alright for Yushin at the moment, but romantic interests can be absolutely devastating. If he does fall for someone, losing them is likely to be his demise even if the breakup is amiable. He's so hard to get through to that anyone who does gets his whole heart, to a fault. He can get extraordinarily jealous and difficult to deal with, which doesn't exactly bode well. In the event that he is able to find someone he can truly love - he'll be there forever. But should anything go wrong, who knows where he'll be left.
