2021 VOK/HW Event-- Edgar's Scavenger Club!

[Moonlight heavens]

After a day of exploring, if you joined him or not, your character would find him looking out over the horizon. Edgar seemed to be lost in thought as he did, your approach not changing his vigil. The only thing he could be looking for is the titan, but with how distracted he's been acting it was as if he didn't even realize the danger approaching.
How do you take this sudden change of attitude?

Khalfani had broken away from Edgar's side for a while to chat with one of the locals. Now he walked back to tell the young tom and his feathered friend about what he had discovered. "Hey Edgar i need to te-" he broke off his sentence when he saw him looking over the horizon. "Hey Edgar are you alright?" He received no awnser...He walked closer to the tom and trained his eyes upon the sky. A brilliant mix of red, orange, yellow, pink, blue and purple. It was absolutely stunning! Combined with the deel blue of the sea...The sea, the titan. Now glancing back at Edgar he seemed to understand. Was he looking for it? By why? Did he even know of the danger that neared?

This sudden change in attitude was strange to say the least...He sat down next to his side and pondered. That was when an awful thought crossed his mind. A look of shock and hurt shown his face. Chould it be possible...Why whould Edgar suddenly want to know about the newcomers, where he came from and the Sky city? Was he just being curious? Or was there something more darker? He shook his head angrily. No why whould he even think that?! Edgar was his friend. He spend the following hours gazeing at the horizon with Edgar.

Prompt: The silence upon approaching Edgar today was odd. Seemed that many of the beings Alessia had gotten to know and appreciate were off today - first the Scribe had vanished, and now Edgar seemed... downcast? Anxious? She couldn't place it for sure, but she still approached. She kept her footsteps quiet, but still loud enough to hear her approach - it would do no good to scare the cat with a sudden appearance.

As she moved to sit next to Edgar, she placed what she hoped was the right amount of kindness and concern on her face. And then, instead of saying anything, she waited for a bit - to watch the scenery with him, and offer her companionship, her presence for the knowledge that he was not alone.

After a moment, she reached into her pocket and grabbed something she had obtained that day while walking along the sea. Alessia held it out where she knew Edgar would be able to see, and opened her paw. There lay a glimmering shell, salt and sand still sparkling on it. It was a pale pink, and slightly chipped - as if it had gone on a great adventure while lost in the sea. "I found this today," she said, "and it made me think of you."

The day of exploring had been a long one, that was for sure. All the fun shiny things collected were rather fun to collect, and Bez had found it even more enjoyable with Edgar to come along with him. Who knew there were so many fun things to find in the sky kingdom? Hopefully no one would really mind... although, to be fair, most of it looked like it wasn't being used, anyway.

By the time the day was finished, Bezalel followed Edgar to a spot where the small tom seemed to stop in his pawsteps, looking out in the distance with a far-away look in his eye. Bez caught sight of it... and then looked out toward the same direction he was. There was only one thing he knew the tom would be looking for, and it was the very same thing that everyone else would be looking for, too; the titan.

That's when it hit him. Edgar had been distracting himself from the inevitable, and only now was he beginning to think upon what the future may hold.

Or, at least, that's what Bezalel had an inkling of. He couldn't read minds.

"The future may be uncertain," Bez murmured, "but, in the end, whatever happens will be for good... but I won't go down easy, without a fight." (220 wc)

Omen’s assigned guard led her about the sky kingdom expertly, careful to keep her away from any dangerous edges, due to the unpleasant reaction she had had earlier. They checked the treasury, and Omen thanked her lucky stars that Edgar hadn’t been there, though some passersby let her know that they had seen him flitting about in the sky earlier that day. They checked the marketplace, as well, to much the same result. When they got to the armory, the smith was busy, but his assistant told Omen that Edgar and the smith had had a conversation shortly before that, and pointed the two in the direction that the winged tom cat had flown off to.

Omen finally found Edgar sitting close to the edge of the large floating island, his eyes scanning the horizon. Had he lost something? As she moved closer - watching each step she took with extreme care - she realized that his expression had changed. There was a shift in his demeanor, and she got the feeling that maybe he was looking for the titan. Had the reality of the situation finally set in? Omen sat next to him, content with the silence as long as he was.
