RUMMAGING 12/1/25

The wintery storm has gone off in full force now, omni should bundle up with a few extra layers if they are planning to venture into the chilly wonderland the storm is creating.

Ichor and Fire Pips are steadfast companions to melt the snow and keep the party warm!

I bet you wish you had some goggles in this weather, the shifting snow and howling winds are eerie enough without the storm limiting sight.

As the pups are busy, the one trying to show off daring feats, the other trying to stop the recklessness, Noelle can only do so much to convince them to get moving. As they finally relent, DEXA slips off the last branch on their way back down. It's a thankfully short tumble, with Ender serving as an unfortunate landing pad, before DEXA rolls back onto something that makes a strange sound beneath the snow. Curious, the trio brush away the snow and find a nice little useful treat, a scrap of sheet metal! No wonder it made such a funny noise when landed on.

Just as Rose stops little Messoria from falling completely to the hard ice, Sunflower goes sliding by with a loud squeal. The tracks in the snow on the other side of the puddle suggest that Sunflower purposely got a running start, before careening past Rose and Messoria. This theory is further backed by the amused noises now coming out of the snowdrift he had collided into. His amusement is cut short though as he holds up a dark omni shard with an excited exclamation. Rooting around in the snow, he comes up with more and more until he has collected a rather impressive little pile!

The fire pip delights the pups who are very grateful for the additional warmth so they can play in the snow longer. Between the rambunctious pups trampling the snow, and the roasty toasty pip melting things as it tags along, it's unsurprising that the ground peeks through here and there. With their minds more on winter fun, it's also unsurprising that Fromis is the first to notice the subtle glint from a churned up section of earth. Calling for the pups to stop a moment, he finishes uncovering the glint to find a nice little chunk of wire!

As Slug continues to bait Nickel verbally for his own amusement, Nickel happily keeps up with the banter between seemingly endless ideas for what they could use the wire for now that they've found even more. Meanwhile, Smudge has been paying better attention to their surroundings as they explore. It's not much, but finding a dirty filter is better than nothing. Nickel, being Nickel, seamlessly changes topics to ideas of where they could clean the filter and what uses it might have. Slug can't help but make a lightheartedly snide comment about using it to filter how much Nickel chatters.

Well rested, with renewed enthusiasm to explore with her new friend, Igni and Mauveine brave the weather in higher spirits than anyone would usually have in a winter storm. Mauveine's grumpy appearance is clearly a facade Igni determines. After all, what ice omni wouldn't be at least a little happy in their element. A little wrapped up in her thoughts, Igni doesn't see the tangle of fabric in the snow until she's almost wrapped up in a far more literal sense. After a brief struggle, she untangles the fabric and realizes they would be very handy leg wraps!
There is no small image for the leg wraps so linking instead of including large image directly.

While Sizzle is busy trying to convince Eventide that everything will be just fine, despite what the weather might try to make of their outing, it becomes apparent quickly that a ghostly colored pup, in a snow storm, might not have been the wisest decision. Makani doesn't stray far, keeping the older omni in her sights as she explores a bit. She's oblivious to the slight panic she's creating as she steps into a section of snow that doesn't sink under her claws correctly. After a moment of digging, she waves the scrap of sheet metal to draw attention to her find. It's a good thing Makani was part of their group, because a ghostly omni rising up from the snow making unintentionally frightening wobbly metal noises, would likely have sent anyone else in a fit.

Everybody's mood is sullen because of the extreme weather condition. Even DEXA had stopped competing and wreaking havoc with Ender, that's how bad it is.
For the pink pip, it's not better:
Lurantis had initially pleaded to join today's rummaging but currently regret is plastered all over his face and he frequently complains about how he hates how cold his nose is.

Because of the circumstances above, Noelle makes sure to stay close to the pips and to not initiate many conversations to keep their energy.

Nivir was regretting letting Ion stay back with the clan for this trip. His ice melting capabilities would have been greatly appreciated with the weather as crummy as was. The previous sheet metal find did make the suffering worth it though, any sort of building material was welcome with how many Omni were slowly being drawn into their collective. Unloading the find onto Aylin to carry, he scouted ahead with Vin to see if they could find anything else worth while before the weather made them turn back.
