↬ prompt: Mistleaf sneazed. The medicine cat looked slowly down at his work bench. Lead healer was his job and he was sick. He had to hide this fact from the others. What herb would be best at hiding these symptoms? Occle berry? syndrome nut? so many choices, but not to overdose on any of them. DustStrike, a blue tabby tom bursted into the den, huffing.

His voice was gruff, tired, and used. "The kits. they are sick! Some of the mom's as well." He was heaving so strongly it seemed as if he was going to colapse.

There was only so many herbs left. He would have to use them all on the kits, none on himself. Mist also knew better then to aproach these children due to his own illness having a possibility of harming them even more. He turned to dust, "Go get Leviath, he is in the back, I must wash myself before picking out the proper herbs for them."

it was gonna be a long week for him, but the kits would be okay. "I'm ill, but my paws should be free of harm enough to at least prepare the medicine."

With that, LeviathArbutus provided the help needed to the sick families, and even though it was a festival night they all still got to celebrate, just on a smaller level. In a week or so everyone returned to health and life returned to normal for Tailless comet.

"See? See? I told you something like this would happen!" Fortune's End was being extra annoying today - or maybe that was because Viperstar felt extra-crummy. "If you don't take care of yourself, you're going to get sicker." He drew himself up to his full height - shorter than Viperstar, but the effect was the same - and stepped forward to put some leaves in front of him.

"I was talking to other cats. They said this might help."

"Other cats?" Viper glanced askance at Fortune. "And where did you meet other cats?" he asked, tail lashing. He really didn't feel good at ALL, and it had come on so fast...

"Nevermind about that. Just eat the leaves, and you should feel better." The younger cat nosed a pile of herbs at his leader. "Please. Eat? For me?"

There it was. For me. Over the past few days, Viperstar had become somewhat enamored of the young cat, and came to look upon him as a cherished member of his new family. It was hard to resist the combination of that phrase, and those eyes. He sighed, and bent to take the leaves into his mouth. "Yuck." he shuddered. "I'd rather just take a liquid or something, but if you say this will help..."

"It will! You'll be better in no time!" Fortune looked happy that his leader was eating, and sat down with his tail wrapped around his back legs to make sure he ate all of it. "I'll take care of you. It's just us right now, so I have to, right? You'll be okay! I'll make sure of it!"

He sulked in the medicine den, using herbal remedies to attempt to speedrun a cure before Christmas arrived so that he could actually enjoy it. However, Thistlestar and Willowheart suddenly entered his den, bringing Twoleg treats, catnip, medicine, toys, and more! They even got a small music player and played Christmas music! The leader and warrior looked dirty and tired, no doubt having worked hard all day and night to find these things just to make Fred feel better. The Twoleg-made medicine helped him feel better, though not completely, and the rest of the items brought Christmas joy to his lonely little den! The three of them camped out in the medicine den that night, having a fun but quiet party -- after all, Fred was still feeling a little sick.

Hazelpelt has a very bad cold. Oakspeck immediately notices, even
though Hazelpelt tries to deny that she's hurting. The she-cat finally
gives in and lets Oakspeck carry her to Saltwater's den.

"Hmm, it's a pretty small cold," Saltwater explained. "But
Hazelpelt here seems to be taking it worse than others. She'll be fine
by tomorrow, don't worry!" Oakspeck breathed a sigh of relief.

He left Hazelpelt at Saltwater's den to rest ━ Saltwater had said to
do so before he left. He decided that he (and the rest of the clan)
should bring Hazelpelt something to make her feel better.

Oakspeck made a bouquet of winter roses and snowdrops for Hazelpelt.
Then, everyone in the clan (including Oakspeck) worked together to
make Hazelpelt her favourite cake - the sweet potato cake!!

The cats got 18 sweet potatoes from a twoleg garden and they got the
flour and (cooked) eggs by stealing them from a twoleg "Super Market".
They got a metal bowl from Silverstar's den and mixed the ingredients
together with a big stick.

The cats molded the dough into a cube and stuck it in the snow for 12
minutes so it froze. Then, they brought Oakspeck's flowers and the cake
to Hazelpelt in Saltwater's den and everyone ate a piece of cake.

Hazelpelt loved the flowers.

- Sunstone visits Brazenstride with some of her picked flowers from her garden to make sure her moral stays up.
- Muddedshine will hunt extra prey for Brazenstride's sake. She deserves something extra to ensure she gets what she needs to get better!
- Whitecloud gives her what herbs she can, to help her out, but ultimately there isn't very much she can do for her. She still does what she can, however!

many cats in valleyclan tend to fall ill during the wintertime and, unfortunately for orchidhaze, she was one of them. although she had only caught a light fever, the molly had been instructed to withhold doing any of her duties while she recovered. she was less than thrilled to be confined to her den, even if it was only for a few days, and quickly grew irritated with her condition. her clanmates tried to lift her spirits by bringing her little gifts, along with kind words and wishes that she got well soon. the healers also stopped by to have conversations with her every now and then, even if they couldn't get too close to her in case they caught it too.
