Leora cleared her throat. Her, Coralyn, Berlioz, and Trix had been calling Dragonite's name for hours, but to no avail. She remembered early that morning when they stopped by Espeon's place, a small house on the edge of a village. The walls were colored a bright blue and the windows shone in the early morning sun. The house could be seen from far away, shining like a blue jewel on the necklace of the village. Seeing how much this one house stuck out among the rest of the village, Leora could see why Espeon was so worried. If Dragonite had made it this far, it would be strange for them to lose their way. After chatting briefly with Espeon and checking back in with May-May, the team set out on the path back to Dragonite's place- a 2 day's walk away. The team had exhausted themselves after pushing themselves too hard the first day and were suffering the consequences. Their voices were hoarse, their eyes were tired, and their legs were wobbly. Leora shook her head, feeling the wind making its way through her fur. She took a deep breath and sighed out the stuffy forest air.
"It shouldn't be too long before we reach Dragonite's place... I can't believe we haven't found him yet." She grumbled, trudging along. She looked around, amused that she could see the bags under her teammate's eyes.
"At least when we get there," Coralyn mumbled, "we can stop and sleep for a moment."
"Get used to it," Trix replied with a yawn, "We all signed up for this when we agreed to be a part of this team."
"It's just what rescuers do." Berlioz chimed in, sleepily.
Leora flicked her tail and sleepily cheered, "And we wouldn't have it any other way!" Everyone in the team shared grins, for they all knew that they felt the same.
Upon reaching the village that Dragonite lived in, the team split up to begin asking questions. They asked if anyone had seen Dragonite, what had happened with him in the last few days, and where he lived among other questions. They didn't get very far. No one had seen Dragonite in the past few days, and everything seemed normal before that. They also learned that Dragonite was great with directions. Everyone was perplexed about how he could have lost his way along a relatively simple path. They all decided to rest for a day or two in the village and set off back to Espeon's house, looking even harder for Dragonite just in case they passed him along the way. Before this, though, they agreed to check out Dragonite's house for any sort of clue to where he might be.
Leora stepped up to the oak door of Dragonite's house and knocked three times. After hearing some shuffling and mumbling on the other side, she saw the door crack open, revealing Dragonite's bright orange nose! Apparently, he had slept for the past few days, completely forgetting about his meet-up with Espeon!
After a day's rest, the team gathered their supplies and headed back on the beaten forest path back to Espeon's house, Dragonite in tow. Another day of work completed for The Misfits!

"So, tell me about your relationship with Minun." Leora said to Plusle as she and Coralyn escorted her through the forest.
"Well..." Plusle started, "she's my best friend in the whole world! She told me to come here because we like to have a cup of tea every Wednesday in the forest, but I always manage to lose my way." Plusle laughed sadly. "There have been many times that I've caused our day of relaxation to become scary and stressful more times than I can count. That's why I need you guys. You can stay for tea too if you'd like. We always have more than enough." Plusle smiled and blushed.
"I don't know about you, Leora," Coralyn teased, "but it seems to me that this Minun might be a little more than a friend."
"No, it's not like that!" Plusle said, flustered. the blush on her cheeks migrated to her ears, and Plusle turned away, embarrassed. "Besides," She said quietly, "she'd never feel that way about me."
"Well," Leora jutted in, "Who says?"
"What do you mean?"
"Who says she doesn't like you too?"
Coralyn jumped into the conversation, "They do say opposites attract!"
Plusle didn't answer, she just smiled and looked away.
Eventually, the trio made their way to a small clearing, near the middle of the forest. The sun shone golden on a tree stump in the center of the clearing. On the stump sat two teacups, one pink and one baby blue, on white-colored saucers. A platter of biscuits and other sweets sat between them. Minun was at the edge of the clearing, carefully heating up a teapot over a small fire. Hearing their footsteps, she turned around with a smile.
"Hi, Plusle! You made it!" She exclaimed in absolute delight.
Leora exchanged glances with Coralyn. The two nodded and turned to Plusle.
"Well," Coralyn whispered, "we have to get going."
"Wait!" Plusle whispered back, "How will I find my way back home?"
"Minun can help you," Leora said with a smile. The two walked away, leaving Plusle and Minun.
"Do you think we did the right thing?" Coralyn asked with a smile.
"Of course. We always do the right thing." Leora said back with an even bigger smile.

Trix walked with Coralyn along the edge of a beach. He could feel the sand as he walked, and he gazed at seaweed among the path. Being one of the two people currently in the Misfits who want scared of water, he was the optimal choice for this job. Apparently Oshawatt was swimming around here when they got sucked into an underwater cancelled of sorts. Upon hearing this, Leora shuddered and whispered something to Coralyn, who then explained to Trix that she would not be going on this expedition. Trix laughed at the fear showing on their "fearless" leader's face. They tried to ask Berlioz to come along, but the small cat just yelled and calmly explained that he was busy that day. It was obviously a lie, but Coralyn and Trix went with it anyways to save the young cat's pride. They tried to ask May-May to come along, but they found her sleeping in the common area. Oh well.

Upon receiving the request from Espeon, the members of Team Whisper gather in their base. Standing by the central tree, Ghost paces back and forth while looking up at the map of the area which she always carried with her in her leaf backpack.

“If a pokemon as strong as a Dragonite got lost than the rest of us will need to be careful! We have other missions right now but we should prioritize this one with our stronger members. Nymphy isn’t used to the land yet since she just evolved so she should go with Yanki, together they should be able to get a good vantage point  from the tops of trees.”

“Rodger Rodger!”

Yanki piped in while saluting before going back to stroking his goatee, sitting on Nymphy’s back as she curled up by the door, nodding her head.

“We’ll need someone to comfort the Dragonite as well, I’m sure this will have been a stressful experience for them.”

She said as she rested her head on top of her partners fluffy pompadour.

“Neither of us are the picture of friendliness, we might scare him more. How about sending Bluebell with us? We should be able to keep him safe. He’s getting older now Ghost, can’t keep sending him to auntie Audino every time we have a mission.”

The blue fuzz ball perked up and Ghost begrudgingly agreed before sending the trio off. It took most of the day but after following some footprints and asking some local forest pokemon, they eventually came across the Dragonite with his tail trapped under a bolder.

“Well that’s not good. Bluebell try to keep him calm while Yanki uses vine whip to wrap around the boulder.”

Nymphy instructed, taking charge of the situating and after wrapping the vines around a nearby tree she had Yanki tie the vines to her neck.

“Will you be okay? If you need me to help I’m right here, okay?”

Yanki offered, a bit concerned since the boulder was quite large. He knew how strong she was but didn’t want her to hurt herself.

“I’ll be fine.” She said before patting him on the head with her tail fin with a small smile. Readying herself, she began pulling, the branch above creaking and shedding some bark as she pulled.

“Pull your tail out!”

Yanki called to the Dragonite who pulled on his tail, soon able to free it though it was bruised. Blue bell smiled up at him and gave him an oran berry he’d found on the way to help heal him.

Nymphy kept pulling until suddenly the branch snapped and Yanki thinking quickly used vine whip to pull her out of the way and into his arms which shook as he struggled to hold her.

“Let’s get Dragonite to Umbreon and go home.”

He said with his goofy monkey grin before setting her down and leading the way back to Umbreon.

Search and rescue missions weren't Onigiri's favorite thing to get saddled with. No... that was putting it mildly. Onigiri [i]hated[/i] search and rescue missions! Whenever one came in, he had to fight to keep himself from groaning aloud in front of his client and spoiling his entire professional image. It wasn't that he didn't appreciate the importance of such jobs though! Pokemon who needed help obviously... well... [i]needed help[/i]! And as the leader of a Pokemon team it was his JOB to see that people in his neck of the woods were safe. But still.... The Sobble shaded his eyes to keep the sun from reflecting on his glasses as he as scanned the horizon. How on earth were so many Pokemon around here so [i]inept[/i] as to constantly need rescuing?! And not baby Pokemon, either. Big ones! Grown ones! Ones like the ones they were looking for now.
"At least he shouldn't be hard to spot?"
Onigiri shrugged and glanced over at his teammate, who was sitting on the branch about a foot away. "'Ya'd THINK so, right? Bein' bright orange an' about the size of a house?" He was pleased to see a smile spreading across Poko's face as he said this. "I have trouble believin' the guy's even [i]lost[/i]."
The small Pumpkaboo simply shrugged. "Who knows? Stranger things have happened...." Her voice trailed off for a moment, allowing silence to grow between them. Then, suddenly, they laughed.
Onigiri jumped slightly, fighting to keep his seat. "What?"
"Do you remember that time an Ursaring got its head stuck in a tree?"
Now it was [u]his[/u] turn to laugh. "Sure do! Greedy-guts wanted that honey [u]real[/u] bad!"
Following this exchange the pair sat there a moment longer, alternately scanning the forest below and the sky above, until a voice from below broke into their revere. "Anything?"
Onigiri craned around to peer down through the leaves at Mulder, who was the owner of the intruding voice. "Nothing."
"We should move on then."
Poko and Onigiri exchanged a look, then started climbing down the tree they'd been using as a vantage point.

Finteen minutes later found Team W.I.P. determinedly pushing through a thick clump of bushes. Onigiri was in the lead, chattering loudly as was his wont. "I SWEAR guys, it smells like lunch!" As he spoke he absently reached out and freed his scarf from a twig that threatened to tear it. "Really good lunch too! Like... like..."
"A pie just out of the oven." This wistful thought was from Mulder. He could smell the smell too and, while he was interested in a vague sort of way, didn't really believe that the situation warranted the amount of excitement it was generating in the other two members of his team. He'd [i]told[/i] them to pack lunches, but no - they wouldn't be out long! They'd not [i]need[/i] lunches! Pah. Served them right if they were hungry. They had a job to do, they needed to get on with it.
"Or hot sandwiches!" Now Poko piped up, adding her two cents to the mix. She'd initially supported Mulder on the subject of the lunches but had quickly folded when Onigiri went into his spiel about wasting time. She now sorely regretted this decision and, while she knew they should be getting on with the job, couldn't help but follow her nose. And Onigiri.
Then, so suddenly that they nearly fell on their faces, the final bush gave way and the trio found themselves in a clearing, face to face with a Pokemon armed with a formidably large picnic basket. The team couldn't help but stare. Their eyes flicked rapidly back and forth between their host and the basket (from which the smell they'd been following was coming), their stomachs grumbling loudly.

"Why, [i]hullo[/i] there! Ooohh, and aren't [u]you[/u] a cute bunch of kids!" The Dragonite got to her feet and closed the distance between herself and the team in three large steps. "What are you doing all the way out here? And... doh! Just [i]look[/i] at you! All covered in dirt! And you there, little one, you have a twig sticking out of your fur!" When none of the much smaller Pokemon responded, she bent down and peered into their faces, looking for signs of life. "Why'd you come through the woods like that? There's path just up the hill there. Are you lost? Do you want your mommies...?"
That did it.
Onigiri snapped to attention and cleared his throat, signaling for Mulder and Poko to smarten up as well. Then, doing his best to appear larger than he actually was, he smiled and met the Dragonite's eyes. "Actually m'am, we're not lost. We're a Pokemon Team, see, and we're part of a search and rescue op'ration."
"Oooh, I SEE!"
Something about the Dragonite's voice made the Sobble think of his own mum, especially when he was telling her some wild story that she didn't believe. This lady was trying to humor them. "Yes m'am." He fought to keep the irritation from his voice. "We're actually looking for a Dragonite, such as yourself. They were reported missing thismorning by an Espeon..."
The Dragonite's eyes widened and she stood up a little straighter, seeming to really [i]look[/i] at the team for the first time. "Did this Espion have a crooked tail?
"Yes m'am, I..."
"And a strange little hat?"
Onigiri took a deep breath to steady himself. "YES m'am."
Now the Dragonite appeared to be annoyed. She snapped her wings open wide then pulled them in close to her sides, crossing her arms and shaking her head in the same motion. "I can't believe it. I simply can't [i]believe[/i] it!"
"What can't you believe, m'am?" This from Mulder.
"That silly Espeon! He's gone and done it again!"
"Again...?" This from Poko.
"Yes, [i]again[/i]! Ooooh! I can't stand him sometimes! I just... I'd like to... ooohh!" She stomped her foot, causing the team to take a reflexive step backward.
"M'am, could you please explain what what you're talking about?"
The Dragonite, still fuming, sighed and returned to her picnic. When she saw three sets of eyes staring expectantly, she smiled thinly and beckoned for Team W.I.P. to come over and sit beside her. Only then did she explain. "You see, poor dear Sam has such a terrible memory... I'm always telling him to keep a journal or something! You know, a book with important dates? Well, he must have lost it or something, because he up and forgot all about our picnic! I made a pie and everything!" The Dragonite seemed not to notice that this revelation caused renewed interest in her basket. "And now he's gone and reported me [i]missing[/i]?!" She threw her hands up. "Of all the [i]things[/i]! I... I will just HAVE to have a talk with him when I get home. He can NOT keep doing this!"
"You mean he's reported you missing before...?"
"Yes, as a matter of fact! I'm surprised your HQ or whatever it is even [i]listened[/i] to poor old Sam! He's such a sweetheart, but..." She sighed again, very dramatically.
Team W.I.P. exchanged looks.
"And now this whole big lunch I spent [i]hours[/i] preparing will go to waste! Phoo! I do believe that's the worst part of all!"
Team W.I.P. exchanged more looks.
"Unless... no. It's a silly idea."
"Unless what, m'am?"
"I don't... well. I don't suppose you'd like to share it with me? After all, you went to so much trouble to come all the way out here and find me, and you poor dears look so tired and [i]dingy[/i]... hungry too! Why, I do believe I can hear your stomachs all the way over here..."

Sorry for the length - was going to be much shorter, then Dragonite went and developed a personality... ^.^;

"What's an Oshawatt, anyway?"
Both Onigiri and Poko looked up simultaneously, pausing their search for the missing Pokemon in favor of casting stunned glances over their shoulders. The third member of their team had posed his question in a calm, level voice, with no hint of sarcasm or wit. And now, as they watched him, the elgyem simply stood and returned the pair's scrutiny with a blank look. He was so good at blank looks!
Once Onigiri decided that nothing more was forthcoming, he abandoned the hollow log he'd been about to crawl into and got to his feet. "What'chya mean, 'what's an Oshawatt''?! The young Sobble put his hands on his hips. "You tryin' to mess with me Mulder?!"
The aforementioned Mulder shook his head.
"But... how..." The thin, piping voice that now spoke belonged to Poko the Pumpkaboo. She'd wandered over to stand beside Onigiri, looking nearly as confused as she sounded.
"How can 'ya not know what an Oshawatt is?" Onigiri finished his friend's sentence for her. He was somewhat flustered by this whole thing and in no mood to wait for her to finish on her own. They'd all been out here for hours, investigating every bush, dragging every ditch, climbing every tree... and so far all he had to show for it was a fresh crop of scrapes and a budding headache. Come to find out, Mulder didn't even know what they were looking for! "You coulda brought this up earlier!!"
Slowly, smoothly, Mulder made a placating gesture with the hand he wasn't using to hold his shade umbrella. "It didn't matter earlier. Besides, do you recognize every species of Pokemon in the world?" His voice now held a distinct note of humor.
The sobble opened his mouth then closed it again, biting back the hot-headed remark he'd been about to make. Nevertheless, he couldn't keep his eyes from narrowing slightly. He remembered his own inability to identify his teammate as an Elgyem the first time they'd met. As well as, if not better than, Mulder himself did. If he hadn't been messing with him before, he certainly was now. "An Oshawatt's a little Pokemon, not too much bigger 'n us, and it has..."
Now it was Poko's turn to cut HIM off. "Wait. Mulder. You said that you didn't ask before because it didn't matter before. Why does it matter... now?"
As the founding members of Team W.I.P. stood by, the new recruit reached out and silently pulled back a section of bushes. There, on he ground and seemingly unconscious, was an Oshawatt.
Onigiri could feel the blood rising in his cheeks. "Why you... you... YOU..!"
Poko put out a fluffy 'wing' and rested it on her friend's shoulder. The effect was immediate and as desired - he stopped sputtering.
"We'll discuss this later Right now, we need to get our client to safety."
