It seems like this board does in fact work rather similarly to the honk board, except for the fact it has all of the letters on it rather than just four. The responses are much easier for her to follow along with as well; despite her best efforts to understand the responses on the honk board, she definitely had to rely a lot on Rune and Bram's translations. She is excited to learn that there are more friendly ghosts here, hopefully the group will have a chance to meet all of them! She is really glad that Lucas had brought one of these boards, otherwise they might not have been able to have this conversation with Winchester. As Winchester continues responding to questions, Lily feels happy that she is doing well and enjoys being here. After all, Lily always wants her friends to be happy, and she is already starting to consider Winchester a friend.
When Marcus suggests switching back to the spirit box to ask Winchester where her friends were, Lily nods in agreement. Though she would have enjoyed continuing to talk with Winchester, she is also curious about all the other ghosts who are staying here and wants to meet them, too! She waits patiently for Winchester's response, and makes a mental note of the answer. Room 998... Lily is very curious about who is staying there. She is sure they are friendly just like Winchester, after all she did call them friends! Being very much the type to believe what people say, there are no doubts in Lily's mind about what Winchester is saying. She is sure Winchester is telling them the truth! Lily is eager to meet the other ghosts residing in the hotel, and maybe even learn more about the hotel itself and why they chose to stay here! All of this is so exciting!

Yet more notes are being taken by Gakt who somehow still hasn't filled the entirety of his notebook yet. A miracle, really. His messy handwriting filled many pages of his book that had been new and pristine before this trip.

He is glad to hear that the ghost is not being held here against will. It fills him with relief. He doesn't feel as if his skills as a ghost hunter are quite at the level where he would be able to help free a ghost from some sort of magical hold on the mortal plane.

Imagine if he did. That would be awesome. Ryou would have no doubts about Gakt's skills then.

Though, the mention of other ghosts does pique his interest and curiosity. Letting it grow bigger than it already was. Which, at this point, was massive already. Even this was merely a trap set up to lead them towards a malicious spirit of some sort, Gakt wouldn't care at all, truthfully. In fact, he was willing to lead the way if need be. Any goobie who was scared could take shelter behind him. Or they could even stay put here and wait. That may be better.

"I say we head to room 998 and find these other friends! There's no doubt that Winchester would be lying to us about it," Gakt says, addressing the rest of the group after Winchester had mentioned the room number. "if not, we could definitely find more clues there. She must have mentioned that room for a reason."

Maybe the ghosts there would know more about what was going on than what Winchester knew. Perhaps they'd even be able to point the ghost hunting group to find other haunted rooms. That would be cool, for sure.

Gakt's mind was running wild with thoughts of all the things that could happen if they did go and explore room 998. There could be all sorts of things to find there.

Gakt is more than ready to head out in order to find the newly mentioned room but he isn't sure if anyone else is wanting to go. If not, perhaps he would go and explore on his own. Though, that would mean missing out on the fun here.

It was a real dilemma for sure. There would be something to miss out on either way. Maybe it would be better if they all split up into two groups? One group would then be able to stay here with Winchester and find out more from her and then one group would be able to set out for room 998.

The choice, however, was ultimately up to the hosts of this expedition. Since they had arranged this gathering, it would only be fair for them to choose what the group did next.

So he looked to Lucas and Marcus with curious eyes and waited to see what they would say about this. Perhaps they even had a better idea than anything Gakt was able to come up with?

prompt answer ; Hailey was really excited as she watched Winchester answer other goobies questions using the board, it was interesting to see how she could communicate with this new device! She also said that there were more friendly ghosts here, Hailey couldn't wait to meet them. She learns more about Winchester as she reads each answer, she likes green and loves other people being around, she also says she likes it here which Hailey is happy about, glad she isn't being forced to stay somewhere, especially a place she doesn't like. Winchester also mentions she has friends here, she must be friends with some of the other spirits here, Hailey wonders where they are at the minute. Her question is quickly answered as the spirit box is brought out again and Winchester reveals where one of her friends reside. Hailey can't help but shake in excitement, they might be going to meet a new spirit soon, she wonders if they will be just as nice as Winchester.

Anokhi waited patiently in the hallway. She wondered how it was going in there. She didn't hear any screaming or cries of terror, so she figured that was a good sign at least. Once everyone was done in the room, she spoke up, "Did it go ok? Where are we headed next?"

As they walked towards their new destination of room 998, she listened to some of the other Goobies chat about the experience. She could hear the skepticism in some of their voices. She could understand. She wasn't sure if the spirit might be entirely honest, though she had nothing to base the suspicion on herself. She wondered what might be in the next room. Hopefully, they would not need to use that board again.

watching the ouija board was certainly an interesting experience. the planchette actually moving on its own was something amaryllis had never thought was possible. with every passing minute in this hotel, it seemed like the impossible was proved possible, and myth became fact. she wondered how many more new things she would become a witness too.

as questions were being asked, amaryllis analyzed each response carefully. to the questions wondering if winchester was friendly and if there were other friendly ghosts here, they both received a yes. that was good; nobody wants to deal with unfriendly ghosts.

marcus and lucas decided to move onto the word answers after a little bit. green was apparently winchester's favorite color. pink would have been the better answer for amaryllis, personally, but green is good too. the group of goobies talking to her made her feel loved and her well-being was good in general. winchester was also not forced to stay here, so that leads to the conclusion that she may genuinely just like it. the ghost seemed to be very happy in her current state, and that made amaryllis feel happy too.

for the last question, winchester stated that she would like to show her friends to the group of goobies listening to her right now. with the spirit box, marcus was able to figure out that the spirits friends were in room 988.

now the group had to decide if going to this room was the next correct step. amaryllis thought that this is what they should do next. what would winchester have to gain by lying to the goobies about her friends' niceness levels? and if the spirit doesn't like them, they can probably just leave, right? how much harm can a ghost really do to them?

amaryllis decided to say goodbye to winchester. "we'll be heading up to room 988 soon, so hope to see you there! or if not, hope you have a good time living here!" she said.

“Should we head on up to room 998?” Alistaire asked Lucas and Marcus. “Yeah, let’s go meet the ‘other ghosts’” Lucas says sarcastically, using air quotes. Marcus proceeded to shake his head as he bent down to pick up their supplies.

As the group headed out, Marcus took one last look around the room to make sure nothing was left behind. “Bye Winchester! It was lovely meeting you!” He said. Marcus’ goodbye started a chain of goodbyes from the rest of the group.

Traveling up the stairs, the group finally made it to the 9th floor. “I’m- out- of breath.” Marcus said, bent over with his hands resting on his knees. “C’mon Markie! Its just a bit of stairs! The exercise is good for you!” Lucas said happily, causing Marcus to hit his knee. Once the group stopped in front of room number 998, a few murmurs could be heard within the group. It seems like a couple goobies opened up to the idea of ghost hunting and the paranormal!

Heading into room 998, everyone was excited to see who the next seemingly friendly ghost was. As soon as everyone went into the room, something shut the door closed. "It's... it's not friendly?!" Marcus asked with wide eyes. Lucas shook his head and grumbled as he pulled out the spirit box again. "It was probably just the window..."

Hardly any response. The only thing you learned from them is their name is 'Eerie' and the words 'graveyard dirt'. Maybe Eerie was... ghosting them? Marcus, more at ease, pulls out a flashlight. "Alright Eerie! This flashlight is on, and just in between the on and off button. You just need to tap it to turn it on and off as a 'yes' or 'no' when we ask questions!" Everyone starts chatting about what to ask and Lucas starts quieting them down.

"Eerie, if you're friendly, turn the light off." The light turns off. Phew!

"Eerie, if you closed the door, turn the light back on." The light stays off. Oh? It looks like it was the open window all along!

The long trek up the stairs leaves most of the group a bit winded, but the lighthearted chatter among all of them has this haunted hotel feeling less and less frightening by the minute.

As the group files into Room 998 and the spirit makes themselves known, the fright of the door slamming shut behind them dissipates as they realize it was just the open window blowing the door closed.

He watches with curiosity as Marcus sets up the flashlight in the room's center, and the group begins to think about what they'd like to ask this new ghost that Winchester had directed them to. "Is this your old room?" Alistaire asks, silvery eyes focused on the flashlight, its brilliant beam casting shadows across the carpeting; while an unconventional method of communicating with ghosts, it seems Marcus had the right idea bringing a backpack full of useful items! The quiet clamor of the group rises again, and he can just vaguely make out whispers of 'are they friendly?' among other things.

Eerie's short responses don't necessarily mean that the spirit is unfriendly- after all, some ghosts just aren't as talkative as others. Alistaire waits patiently for Eerie's reply with the flashlight, now feeling quite comfortable sitting in the dark room at this haunted hotel.

prompt answer ; oakley's brief relief was immediately washed away after the door shut behind the group. no friendly ghosts would do that! even eerie communicating through the torch did not put oakley at ease. he felt trapped. the small goobie cuddled close into whoever was beside him. it was so dark in here...
oakley needed more proof in order to believe that eerie was actually friendly!
