On the eve of Sundering Day, Nathan takes his hopefully last trip around the city. Hopeful that is, to solve the murder and return home, not getting murdered himself. His surroundings don't make him that confident about avoiding it, though. The city is still deserted as it has been, but the overall vibe has gotten significantly heavier. The air feels almost thick like smoke, making his chest feel tight, regardless of how clear and sunny it is above him. From his experience of being in dark situations similar to this, he has good reason to be on edge.

Taking glances at the stagnant buildings and vacant stands, his options for things to check out are thin with everything in lockdown. Given little choice, he halfheartedly decides to revisit the fountain despite just being there. His main destination, however, is that alleyway. Hearing from the tavern about a soaked fable lurking and about suspicious movements seen in there from the courier he met yesterday, everything is telling him to check it out. Hopefully, with his efforts by tonight or tomorrow, this whole mess will be solved.

response: Aurora, having become increasingly nervous about the fact that she joined House Virellian when she first arrived, stayed out of the way yesterday. Today, she convinces herself to be bold enough to explore the streets. Much has changed about them from the first day she arrived here in Stormire. The wind seems to carry her towards the entrance of the suspicious alley. It must be a sign… right? As reluctant as she is, Aurora takes a deep breath and steps in, desperately hoping to find something that will render her a separate entity from her House.

response: (Tired today zzz) Resting by the fountain before focusing on the next plan, the fable takes out the glass they found on the night of the incident to examine it, holding it up against the sunlight in hopes of discovering a new clue they might have somehow missed. They let out a sigh. Nothing. After more thinking, suddenly the embassy came to mind when it felt as though hope was lost. Maybe there was more to find there? With that thought, they swiftly put the glass back into their satchel and make haste to the location.

mask design:

taeri’s mask sat heavy across her face, a thick white satin ribbon securing it in place. the thing had been carved from green aquamarine, polished until it shown. while it was mostly made up of a deep sea green, blended with clouds of sea foam, some hues of true blues peaked through. it had been intentionally on the artist’s part, as it made the hue of taeri’s eyes shine bright. bits of sea glass swooped up the right side in a few different curves, lightening toward the ends and giving the impression of a cresting waves over deep ocean depths.

response: Hekate ponders the meaning of life and death at the fountain, thinking about the encounter a few days ago at this same fountain plaza.

Afterwards, Hekate ventures bravely into the suspicious alleyway one last time, hoping to stumble upon anymore clues in order to solve the mystery.

mask design: An ornate charcoal colored mask sits upon Hekate's face. Decorating it are some golden laurel leaves, ancient yet beautifully in style. Tourmaline of the watermelon variety sits embedded on the mask, practically stuck on by what feels like some sort of magic. A bat charm dangling from the left side, and a cat charm dangling from the right side weigh down the mask to prevent it from slipping off. One last detail is the silken ribbon through the bottom border of the mask, emerald in color.
