Why do you want to be an artist for WERMZ?: I've always wished to get better at making art, I hope to improve through Wermz to gain experience, creativity and learn the complexity of creating designs. I am currently very hyperfixated on Wermz too, I might not be the best with words but I hope I can recover with my recent Werm designs.

I had no thoughts while making them, they kinda just popped into my mind and I made them.

I like the color green! Added some cool shapes since that was what I was thinking about at the time then tada!!
Spilt DrinkSpilt your drink and feel bad about it? Well this Werm cries with you!

Something FishyFish!! Who doesn't love these silly little aquatic creatures that swim around and go glob glob, so I thought fish!!

Why do you want to be an artist for WERMZ?: I've been a super active member of wermz and the community for a little over a year now, and I feel like now that I've fully experienced being in the community from a member's perspective, I've been really interested in the idea of potentially becoming an artist for the community I adore so much and becoming someone who contributes to the adopts wermz puts out. Something I've come to learn about myself this past year is just how much I love making other people happy by surprising them with art, and being an artist for a UMA really satisfies this little desire, especially knowing firsthand how exciting it is to win a werm !! So just really in summary I
adore the creativity and talent of the wermz community and I'm excited for the chance to be a part of a team that would definitely help challenge me to go even further while getting to do the two things I love most - character designing, and making people happy through art :>
Seraphs

An example of more complex lines that can still be recolored. I really enjoy drawing armor + shiny metal. I started with the first design in mind, very celestial and bright. Then I recolored this with the exact opposite, a werm with a dark base palette, fire-like wings, and silver armor instead of gold. These are probably my favorites I've made, I especially enjoyed playing around with filters to create the final look of the wings.
Complex one-off
An example of what a custom might look like! The inspo behind this werm was a hummingbird and a butterfly, with a hint of venus flytrap.

Why do you want to be an artist for WERMZ?: I really enjoy fantasy creatures and adopt species, I have a few of my own! Id really like to help contribute and flex + polish my skills by creating wermz with the rest of the staff and bringing joy to the community! Personally, I love seeing the joy my creations bring and I would love to see how people bring the wermz I create to life, seeing how they develop the lore of said wermz or even just what collections theyre added to.
Tell us a bit about this werm/s: For my standard, I wanted to go with an aging statue, one that was overgrown with moss and cracked from lack of care or simply from the passage of time.

Tell us a bit about this werm/s: For these wermz I wanted to try my hand at making a sort of shynx cat werm, or rather, a hairless werm. The patterning on the second one is a tad more dramatic as I wanted to test how comfortable I would be with adding a small abstract or odd pattern to something more natural.

Tell us a bit about this werm/s: For these two, I wanted a sort of plague doctor-esque theme with the subtle theme of a failed experiment manifesting as the tail, creating a sort of lava lamp or acid-bubbling effect. The second one was a test for myself to see how "busy" I could make a coat without it feeling overwhelming and staying somewhat elegant.
Tell us a bit about this werm/s: This one is simply because I enjoy dinosaurs! The color range on some of these beautiful beasts is so beautiful I could resist making at least one werm dedicated to them.
Tell us a bit about this werm/s: I didnt really have a thought process behind this one, simply going where my hand led me, but i do have a bit of a description. A furnace-based werm! With the head being the main oven or kiln to host the fire, this wermz body consists of hot flames that are sure to burn, even when not intended.
Tell us a bit about this werm/s: This werm I made as a mix of space and the feeling of wanting to go to bed. Its clearly ready for a nap, having its cap on and a star shaped plush close-by.
Tell us a bit about this werm/s: This werm is simply just a bird, i wanted to go for a couple simpler line edits for this and the next one. They also both share a tail
Tell us a bit about this werm/s: A werm with the theme of simplified divinity. No biblically accurate mass of eyes, no multiple limbs or anything much, Just a solid disc halo and tears of gold. As stated previously, this base shares a tail with the former werm.

Why do you want to be an artist for WERMZ?: I've been in the Uma scene for about a year and Wermz really calls to me, not only for the funky little guys we all love, but for the community! I love the sheer amount of friendliness the members have, how easy it is to get a werm, and all the creativity the uma has to offer, and I'd love to bring even more of that to the table! Being an artist will also help me to improve my skills and to do so in a friendly environment.
Litter 1 - Mask Foxes

Tell us a bit about these werm/s: I was in on the idea that foxes are often displayed in media and stories as two-faced; tricksters who just love to cause trouble. Masks can often symbolize a second facet or an outer way of expression and inner expression to a personality and I wanted to include one on these fox wermz! As for the colorings, they're based on different color morphs of the red fox! (left-right; Common red, Standard Silver, Extreme Piebald)
Litter 2- Prosthetic Wermz

Tell us a bit about these werm/s: With these wermz, I knew I wanted to make a litter with a theme of 'that which is broken can still be beautiful'. I wanted to make a bjd-esque proshetic that could be reworked into a number of different designs, seen above! The porcelain/china werm on the left takes inspiration from the art of making broken things into breathtaking work, while the middle one takes a play on mosaics in the arm and a sunset patterning, which can mean that despite the sun setting on one path, a new day arises on another. The last werm, the brown/gold one, was a try at making a more natural werm with these lines.
Standard Wermz
Tell us a bit about these werm/s: For the first one I really wanted to play with simple patterns and a monochromatic color scheme, and came up with this cutie! I also like gradients and wanted to get something semi-natural with unnatural colors. For the second werm, I wanted to try doing more with effects, complex/unnatural patterns, and line coloring, as well as go outside of my typical design elements of paler colors and soft gradients by doing some bright neons!
Odd Custom Wermz
Tell us a bit about these werm/s: With the first werm I was inspired by dnd classes, specifically the Sorcerer class! They always have an air of mystery to them and I also wanted to give a werm a shorter snout/a hood! The magic was really difficult to figure out, but I'm glad that I challenged myself to work through it and I think it turned out good! The second werm is a sort of demon werm. I wanted to try and do a werm with the eyes completely covered and with completely different feet, which is stepping out of my comfort zone. I tried to make this werm a middle ground between pretty and creepy, and I think it works out! ^^
I plan on adding at least 1 more Odd Custom Werm ^^
I want to thank you all so much for taking time to read, see and consider my application! Good luck to everyone applying, and I hope you all have a good day/afternoon/night!

Why do you want to be an artist for WERMZ?: As someone who's been into UMAs for as long as I've been on CS (over a decade now!), I think Wermz are fantastic little dudes! They're very versatile and I love seeing all the variations the artists can come up with, all the different bases are so charming. For a few years I started to fall out with UMAs slightly, but now that I'm becoming more and more active and am starting to pick back up on them again, these guys seem perfect. I cannot apply for artist positions in most species (due to being on-oekaki β i currently do not have the means to be able to use the on-site Oekaki program comfortably), so the fact I am able to design them on my own program is great. While I've worked on the artist applications, I've also found designing the Wermz to be quite relaxing β they'd be very fun to work on when I have nothing else to do! The community has been so friendly and welcoming too. I'd love to be able to get to know everyone better while giving back to the community!

Why do you want to be an artist for WERMZ?: Firstly I just love the standard wermz lines. I don't remember when was the last time I wanted to have an oc so badly haha. I used to make adoptables so it wouldn't be jumping into deep water for me. I love making new designs and I'm only motivated when I do it for somebody else. I recently got my first werm and I would be very happy if I could share my hype over them by making new wermz for people. Besides that I think it could help me get beyond the language barrier. I don't talk in english very often and I don't have much opportunities to do so tbh. So taking part in this could be not only fun for me but beneficial.

sea slugs! I think you can even spot which ones x3

Why do you want to be an artist for WERMZ?:I've always wanted to be on the Werm team as all the staff are amazing and radical people, and I would like to help the community grow more. I have plenty of great Ideas that I'd love to share, and I'm always down to make new friends and to be there for anyone and anything. I am an artist for another pixilated UMA, Sweetens and have experience making litters as well as customs.
I've been a member of this community for quite some time and always wanted to be an artist, but I didn't think I was skilled enough at art at the time but I'm glad to finally get my application in! I always like challenges and looking on ways to improve, and being an artist would truly help expand my creativity.

Tell us a bit about this werm/s: This werm was based off of a stream, I've always liked flowers drifting on top of the surface as it looks peaceful in my opinion so I added some to bring out some more variety in colors. I wanted to challenge myself by drawing a water effect even though I've never drawn those things before, but I think it turned out pretty well!
Tell us a bit about this werm/s: I just went a bit dreamcore and abstract, I wanted the pattern to look like its melting as its coloring is from an ice cream so I mixed the melting effect with the flower for a cool effect.

Tell us a bit about this werm/s: I really wanted to embrace some of my favorite aesthetics and mix them into one, they are a mixture between weirdcore, kidcore, and clowncore! The design did take a lot of thought as I originally made the first concept almost a year ago. I improved it immensely since then, and I think it turned out a lot better than I expected that's for sure. I've also never drawn a vinyl either so I thought it was very nice to experiment, plus I think the little items I added fit the werm

Why do you want to be an artist for WERMZ?: I think this UMA is very cool and want to contribute to all the beautiful WERMZ! I've been a fan of it for a while and have wanted to become an artist since I heard you could. The world and base art are amazingly good- I wanted to be apart of this fantastic project! I would also like to improve my character design and pixel art.
