Of course cleanliness was important, which is why Longboi washed his paws thoroughly before they began. If the goal was to get Barry to try new things, then he would need to make something a little more unique than a killer gookie recipe, which could certainly wait for later. There was another family recipe that he had in his arsenal, one that he doubted many of his fellow goobies had ever tried.

Since his father came from the sea, there were many recipes known only to mergoos and their kin. Luckily, the ingredients themselves weren't too hard to find within the kitchen; some maple syrup, fresh salmon, and dried seaweed. He candied the salmon in the syrup, before seasoning it with a mixture of spices to bring out the sweetness. While many saw fish only as a meal, Longboi did his best to present it as a sweet treat that would be right at home amidst gookies and muffins alike.

Wrapping it up in the sheets of seaweed for the finishing touch, he presented it to Barry proudly. "What do you think of this~?"

With everyone's creations tried, there was a lot of different flavors going around both great and some... "Interesting flavor," Barry had decided upon, while munching upon one said creation. But it had introduced him to a lot of new things he had never had before!

"You know, I'm going to let you all in on a secret," Barry whispered, checking to see that the rest of the crew was out. "I... actually prefer savory things. Back home, I was known for my meats! But I took the job because I need the money and well... I kinda like the company. I mean Meyer she's... well anyways!" He stopped a moment, his cheeks glowing brightly. "But I think I have an idea! Well, a couple of ideas! You lot have inspired me to at least try!" He starts to dash around the pantry, grabbing various ingredients normally reserved for sandwiches or salads, a bright gleam in his eye.

"Thank you all, you get to be my very first taste-testers!"

He was like a whirlwind in the kitchen, mixing up various bowls. "I'm not huge on sweets but... try these Cookies!" He proclaimed, plating out various savory goods. And it was clear this was where he shined! The cookies all were plated with taste and design in mind. They ranged from: Sun-Dried Tomato Cookies, Black Sesame Cookies, Cheese Sago Cookies, Thyme and Cheddar Cookies, Everything Parmesan-Pecorino Savory Shortbread Cookies, Rosemary Cookies and even Speck Plätzchen Cookies which had caramellized onions and bacon!

"Ah I hope you like at least some of these. I know they are a touch salty, maybe we could pair them with a refreshing drink? I mean if people like them and all..."

Yve’s ears perked up with the thought of savory cookies. Yve’s stomach grumbled after hearing one in particular, Sun-Dried Tomato Cookies! They made her think back to her home back in Brookstowne, Adalaine’s farm would grow the best tomatoes for these cookies. “I’ll take one of the tomato ones please!” Yve asked with a smile, turning to Wolf to see what type she wanted. Yve stared at Wolf who wasn’t paying attention and instead was fidgeting with her hands. Wolf finally looked up, not realizing they had been waiting on her. “Oh sorry, i’ll have the same as her.”

After munching on their cookies, Yve lit up with excitement, happy with her choice of cookie. She then turned to Wolf to see her thoughts on the cookie. “It could use some uhh… sea salt possibly… it seems like something is missing.” She expressed, wiping the crumbs from the corners of her mouth.

Fayette JUMPS at the chance to try those cookies! She loves sweet things but she absolutely ADORES to mix in some more natural ingredients [like dandelions, moss, and more]! Fayette pulls out a potion she got from Rhea and shrinks most of the thyme and cheddar cheese cookies to bring home. "Barry!! Barry!! Pleasee give me your recipe..." She says as her mouth is full of that savoury cookie.

Savory cookies. Huh. Mayhem found the idea startlingly new, and xe needed to try one, immediately. Xe hunted for one that was less complex and bit into it.

Mayhem was immediately hit by the taste of smoked bourbon. Xe, taken aback, looked down at the label on it, and found that it was a "Bourbon Pork Cookie." Xe was surprisingly into it, and took a few extra cookies to place out for xes potential guests later.

Bubbles, unsurprisingly, was struggling with the concept.

"Aren't cookies supposed to be sweet?" she questioned Rocky, searching for ones that looked sweet to her.

"Yes, but don't you think it's cool to branch out every once in a while?" Rocky questioned back as he took a Thyme and Cheddar cookie. "Here, try this one."

Bubbles took the cookie and studied it for a bit. Then, gingerly, she took a bite. Her eyes lit up immediately. "These are really good! Can we take some to Mayhem's house?"

"As many as you want, bud." Rocky watched as Bubbles bounced off, putting multiple cookies of each flavor she liked onto her back.

Rocky was personally a fan of everything bagels, so the Everything shortbread cookies sounded amazing. As expected, they were, and Rocky fought the urge to take five home with him.

"Rocky!" a voice called from the table with the Sun-Dried Tomato cookies. Loop strolled over to the goob, a Sun-Dried Tomato cookie in their mouth.

"These cookies are amazing, aren't they?!" Loop exclaimed, bouncing ecstatically as they talked.

"Yeah, they're really good," Rocky replied, taking another Everything shortbread.

"Where's your friend? I wanted to give her this one to try," Loop asked, looking around and holding up a Bacon and Cheese cookie.

"I can take it to her, if you'd like," Rocky offered, a small smile creeping onto his face. Their energy was infectious!

"You're a lifesaver! I feared I was gonna crush the cookie transporting it across the room." Loop handed Rocky the cookie and darted away, as Bubbles bounced up.

"Hey Rocky! What's that?" Bubbles asked, and Rocky handed her the cookie, still slightly red from his interaction with Loop.

"Oh, another cookie? I think I'm full, sorry! You can have it though. Let me go put these near Mayhem and I'll be back," Bubbles babbled. She darted away as well, and Rocky was left alone with the cookie.

Might as well try it. Rocky bit into the cookie and was hit with a wave of smoked bacon. This was balanced out by the cheese that came shortly after, creating a taste reminiscent of being a young goob with no tastes.

Loop has really good taste in cookies, Rocky thought, his small blush returning a bit. Bubbles returned shortly after and dragged Rocky over to Mayhem, whose hands were full of Bubbles's cookies.

"Everyone get what they wanted?" Mayhem asked, and both of the younger goobs nodded.

Entry: Jammy watched as Barry enjoyed all the treats offered to him. However, he seemed much more excited to make… savoury treats? Jammy never would have thought that would be possible, maybe other than savoury crepes. But then again, he was biased towards more traditionalism baked goods since he developed a big sweet tooth after meeting Skippy. Jammy gazed around at the other goobies, who seemed just as shocked as he. However, there was one goobie that stood out against the rest. With neon green markings and a proud grin painted on their face, it looked like they themselves had conjured up a savoury treat.
Jammy decided to make his way over to the other goobie, extremely intrigued in what they offered to Barry. As he got closer he could smell something fishy, but in the best way possible. Perfectly cooked salmon! Was it wrapped in seaweed? Was it marinated in something yummy? Jammy had so many questions, but first he had to introduce himself.
“H-hi there, did you make something savoury like Barry?” Jammy asked Longboi, hoping they didn’t mind the sudden introduction. “I never thought of making savoury baked treats before now- yours smells so delicious. What did you make?” He asked the other goobie.
After a few moments Jammy scratched his head. “I don’t quite know how to pair up savoury treats with drinks. Do you have any tips?” Jammy added, nervously smiling at Longboi.
