Friend enters the woods and trots easily into the foliage. Unfortunately, within minutes it begins to rain. The skies grow dark, making it hard to see through the downpour. Friend squints against the onslaught but it's no use, it's just too hard to see.

Spook munches down on the moths the warlock offered and gives a friendly gurgle in response. He grins and points toward the north, "If you're looking for a way out of this place, head north. That's the closest and safest way out. Stay off the paths though, stick to the trees. There are dangerous creatures that like to patrol the paths and won't hesitate to take a cute little bite like you for a snack."
Spook nods in understanding and disappears into the trees. Once out of sight, they have a choice to make.

Neonbay takes one last breath of fresh air before disappearing into the sulfuric mist. The rotten egg smell is incredibly strong and overwhelming, but they fight their way onward regardless. It does not take long before the air begins to grow warmer and thick beads of sweat begin to form on Neonbay's skin. A vampire bat is drawn to the scent of Neonbay's sweat and lands on their shoulder. They knock it to the ground and snap it up.

Wait out the storm

Friend ducks beneath a heavy leaf to wait out the storm. After about fifteen minutes, a group of scuzzy-looking rats joins them beneath the leaf! Great a snack!
After about an hour of waiting, the storm abates and Friend is able to continue searching the woods.

Friend feels renewed and takes off into the woods. Now that the rain has stopped, there are no scents or trails to follow. Tracking anything is incredibly difficult, but they soldier on as best they can in hopes of finding some sign that will point them toward the exit. They don't get far before they come to a strange sign post. Not exactly what they had in mind, but at least it is something. It points to several different paths, but the words on the sign are too faded to be read.
