If you have custom pet but also want more than one offspring from the pets would you also have to purchase not only the custom breeding orb but also a breeding orb for how many offspring you want?

Yep! You need both of em to get more offsprings!

Actually, custom breedings work with the same formula as regular breedings, with the exception that you need 1 custom breeding orb per breeding.
In other words, a custom can get 3-5 offspring per breeding if no other orb is used. If you want to have full control of how many offspring it gets, then you need a regular breeding orb as well.
