The elf's face fell when she saw the ruined hat. "Oh, no! My hat.. I worked so hard
to make it and now it's shredded to bits." she sobbed, silver tears running down her
cheeks. The cats of Peaceclan made up their mind to make a new hat for the elf.

They sprinted through the forest, into the twoleg village where a festival was going on.
They noticed that everyone was wearing hats, hats like the elf's. The cats were quick to
grab a hat that fell to the ground, bringing it back to the elf.

The elf grinned, her eyes twinkling when she noticed the brand new hat. She thanked each
and every one of the cats and promised to send them the best gifts for Christmas.

↬ prompt: as leo and rune looked at the shredded pieces of the hat, they both couldn't help but feel sad for the elf

“what do we do? we cant just bring these to them, we need to do something about this!” Leo said as he looked at rune

“hmm.. maybe we could make a new hat?” Rune suggested as that was the only thing he could come up for the time being..
“but who knows how to make hats?” Leo asked puzzled trying to think if anyone he knew would know how to make hats..

“We can ask sheep if she knows how to make something like the hat? she's pretty good with her paws in making cool and pretty stuff!” Rune said as he stretched his front paws “or we can try to make one ourselves?” he continued

“or we could ask sheep to help us make one hat together?” Leo suggested

Rune nodded his head “yeah! That's a great idea!” he answered “let's go, we have no time to waste!”

as the two toms ran into the camp to look for sheep they catched the attention of the other group members

“what are you two doing running around?” Kefira asked as she trotted over to leo and rune who were just about to go into sheeps den

“oh! we found the hat.. or should i say the remains of it, we are going to make the elf a new hat we just need to find sheep..” Rune spoke turning to look at kefira

“oh- well i have bad news for you two then.. sheep left to look for herbs to fill our herb storage” kefira told the two toms

“oh..” rune sighed sadly.. “i guess me and leo have to figure out a new plan as to how to get a new hat for the elf “ he looked at leo who had been quiet the whole conversation

“i think i got an idea..” Leo mumbled “ we could go look for some twoleg campers camps and look for something that could be used as a resource to easily make the hat that the two legs left behind “ He said as he looked at kefira “ Do you want to come with us? so we can cover more ground faster?” He asked

kefira nodded as an answer

as the three cats went on to look for things the twolegs have left behind,everyone wished that they would find an hat or something to make an hat out of for the elf

after looking at multiple camps of twolegs they were beginning to lose hope when kefira saw something on a lower branch of a tree

“Leo! Rune! come look at this!” she called the two toms over
“what is-” they both said in unison before noticing the cute hat on the tree branch
“ill climb up and get it so you two can go give it to the elf!” kefira smiled before she started to climb up the tree towards the branch

“be careful! the tree bark could be slippery!” Rune said as he looked at kefir who was climbing up the tree

soon enough kefira had gotten the hat down from the tree

“ill go back to camp now, im getting hungry , you two can go and give the hat to the elf!” she smiled before she started walking away

“thank you kefira! i will be sure to tell the elf that you helped us get the hat for them!” Leo said smiling before turning to look at rune “lets go and bring the hat to the elf”

as the two toms walked in the snow towards the place where the elf told them they would be waiting in, they talked about how they would tell what happened to the elfs previous hat

they soon arrived at the big tree stump where the elf was sitting

“we are so sorry but we couldn't rescue your previous hat..it had been shredded to pieces.. but we hope that this hat is good enough and keeps you warm “ the toms said together before giving the elf the hat

“thats very kind of you two to bring me a new hat! it is more than enough!” the elf said happily

“oh! i nearly forgot! our friend kefira helped us get you this hat!” leo said

“well be sure to tell my thanks for your friend too! ill be sure to tell santa about you two and your friend!”

Pumpkinshine and Coalstep are in charge of this task, combined they'll be able to come up with the best new hat for their new elf friend!
They have many ideas, but one that sticks out from all the rest is to use some of Pumpkinshine’s warm fluffy fur. Luckily she sheds quite a bit so all they have to do is go grab some from her nest. Together they shape the cloud of hair into the form of a hat.
"I have an idea!" Pumpkinshine exclaims, placing the hat onto Coalstep's earless head. "I'll be right back!" She hurries off, leaving the black tom to sit alone with his eyes wide.

While waiting, Coalstep started liking the warmth the had provided. Maybe Pumpkinshine would agree to make one for him too once they finish...
His thoughts were interrupted by sound of paws on crispy snow, and soon enough the orange and white hunter was back. She grinned, mouth full of feathers. "I thought these could spice it up a bit!"
Coalstep nodded with a smile as Pumpkinshine began placing the feathers into the hat.

It was a similar shape as the elf's old one, but with feathers stuck here and there, many of them concentrating at the end where a bell or a ball of fur would normally be. The elf would surely like this one!

↬ prompt: Santa asked around for materials to make a nice elf hat, and scrounged up some wood, a piece of rainbow, and some cloud fluff. "This will have to do," she decided. She wanted to do the best for the elf, of course, since in the future, they may become a worker in her candy store.

She got to work, shaping the wood to be a hat shape, decorating it with rainbow colors, and adding the bit of cloud on top.

"A hat," she told the elf, presenting it coolly. "I hope this doesn't get shredded by another animal anytime soon."

Taru makes one out of the old yarn and straw left in the abandoned barn. As expected, it's not the prettiest, but it looks surprisingly good woven together in a bit of a festive yellow and red striped, woven pattern in the shape of a cowboy hat. It's the only kind of hat they've seen before.

with some spare fabric found by sabia the clan came together to look for other ways to decorate the hat. agrona found some blue string to wrap around it while saga and epona brought back leaves and daisies.

↬ prompt: Lampshade tapped the old stone floor with a claw, eyes half closed in both an exhausted and concentrated stare as he held up the makeshift hat in the other paw. It was an awkward silence, the only sound being the thinking hmmm from the lanky cat. "Yep. Mhmm. All done," he ungracefully plopped the hat onto the elf, "here you go little buddy. Fits you well." With that the cat simply got up and walked off, probably back to his nest to take a very long nap.

The hat itself was made of, well... there was certainly some fabric scraps and an attempted stripey pattern to match the original, but one could tell it was not the original by a mile. It was a bit lopsided, and although it wasn't the prettiest of hats, Lampshade had made sure that it wouldn't fall apart anytime soon. It had character, that's all.
