And just like that, Halloween night had arrived! I spent the day baking goodies, sprucing up the decorations around the house, and getting the last bits of my costume prepared. Once the sun had gone down and the crowd of trick-or-treaters dispersed, I finally found the time to make the trek out to Jill's stand. I came in costume, of course, with a basket of pumpkin pies and tarts and cookies hooked in one elbow. Hopefully Jill would recognize me in spite of the... decidedly owl-themed steampunk getup.

"Brought this as a little thank you," I explained, offering her the basket with an apologetic smile. "I came into this pretty late in the game, but I had a wonderful time, and I'm already looking forward to next year."

Do you believe in the legend of The Headless Horseman?: no, i dont, but i do believe its based on some tricks. Like... when people started taming and riding horses, others freaked out when they saw those horse/men creatures. Thats how centaurs came into life.

I knock on Jills door for the final time this year. As she opens the door, I happily present her with a pair of cat ears, “happy Halloween, Jill, do you like my costume, I’m a tiger! I thought you would like a little more festivities this year!”. I hand her the ears and another few pieces of candy. “Also, I know you and I won’t see each other until next year, but I wanted to say that I’ll miss you and appreciate everything you do for the camp.” I turn to leave and smile at Jill.
