a ridiculous waste of time ━ at least in her opinion! instead, just throw some kindling, dried wood and strike flint to steel. then watch… the magic unfold! and behold, a spiralling column of amber and gold, flickering and twinkling, burning brighter than any north star or fancy stringed lights. minus the smoke, it’s a lovely and toasty sight!

theres an old plastic christmas tree in the back of the store- its not exactly a season decoration, in fact, it actually serves as one of the many dens in the store! at the moment, it's the leaders den. Saltstar sleeps under the branches, and Obie sleeps laying across the branches! Though most decorations would get in the way of his slithering across the branches, he does humor the youngest cats of the clan, the kits and apprentices, with allowing them to play games of tossing fabric scraps and shiny trinkets up into the branches.

↬ prompt: jadeclan, being a bunch of artisans, treasure their tree; it stands tall and proud in the middle of the camp, oaken branches widespread and protective, platforms and dens and all. it gets trinkets woven into it branches year round which chime gently in the wind, but each cat must bring at least one holiday-themed ornament or decoration of sorts that means something to them when attending a bonfire. there are multiple bonfires leading up to the long-awaited holiday, so the clan ends up with a variety of items in a multitude of sizes, shapes, and colors. these are taken down after leafbare passes, giving room for change over the seasons.

↬ prompt: The cats all take turns putting things on the tree, with items ranging from beautiful lines of fairy lights to sap covered pinecones! The kittens get to make a special item each year to use as a tree topper, and the cats call over Harley from the railrunners to help lift the kittens up to place it on top, as he's so tall! There's been a few times where someone tried to bring in a live squirrel for the tree.. needless to say it ran around and caused some fun but chaotic havoc! It was all well and fine though, and made for a good laugh.

Frog and Squiggle collaborated on planning this group activity, and settled on having a big arts and crafts day where everyone would make a "self portrait" ornament. Some of the results were far more detailed than others, and some were very uniquely abstract, but the end result of a tree decorated with a big happy family of tiny cat ornaments was beautiful.

littlefog and emberglow decide to organize some tree decorating! the trees around their territory already have a pretty good start, green and covered in a thin layer of snow - I mean, they're gonna have to avoid the cursed ones, but other than that, they're perfect.

naturally, emberglow tries to get the kits involved. he figured they could have a great time putting up sticks and miscellaneous sparklies, like swagkit's little coins, or maybe rainkit and waspkit's little trinkets, if they're willing to share. and, naturally, mosquitokit gets herself stuck up in the tree when nobody's looking, and skykit accidentally sets it on fire. wait, what?! at the same time??

↬ prompt: the cats would use a range of different winter plants that had sprouted to decorate the trees, as well as leaves they had preserved earlier in the year (decorating a tree with leaves, weird, i know). there isn't much out there for them to decorate the tree with, but they would do their best to make it look as pretty as they possibly could. they might also use some scrap fabric they had salvaged from the twolegs as additional decoration - possibly to make a bow around the bottom of the tree.

There is quick nod, partnered with a sigh, ''But what? What could we possibly be missing? A stolen egg? We have that! A shiny ornament? We have that too? ''

''I don't know, but when I look at the tree... I want to see everything I like there...'' A pause, before her eyes light up, ''I know, I can put you up on the tree!''

''What?!''

''You heard me! Get on the tree, you'll be the prettiest decoration ever!'' A soft whisper whistles through the wind, ''I bring you the food... and maybe some of mine... please?''

''Deal!''

↬ prompt: a halo of luminescent grandeur of rosy corals and the blossom of softly lit periwinkles of a little thicket bush, harshly carved into the silhouette of a evergreen tree.

bejeweled with ballerinas adorned with jewels and citrine, upon the dainty, tottering branches, a world of imbalance danced. their tango unsteady, beneath the burden of sienna and emerald ornaments, stolen from the arms of flora and fauna. marigolds and daffodils preened upon the dainty, gnarled branches like little larks yet to fall from their nests as the sweet roar of laughter bloomed next to the little christmas tree. a little christmas tree ever-so imperfect but beautiful in their eyes.

↬ prompt: The clan hoarder, Harvestmoon, drug out a blanket filled to the brim with all things sparkly, having the kits and apprentices help her decorate a evergreen tree drug in by the larger warriors, Saberstar’s wild cat heritage making him a great help in moving the trees.

Among the sparklies that Harvestmoon coveted included lots of trash but also some treasures, rings and bracelets lost by two-legs as they visited the woods. She had become friends with the local crows through exchanging fish scraps for shiny things so her collection grew quite large, having a den dug out with a nice skylight to make them shine while being stored.

To make glass safe to handle she puts them in the shallow part of the river to be rounded over time, making a rainbow of light during certain times of day. Anything without strings attached were tied with found twine or long grass.

Once fully decorated, the tree didn’t look perfect but the way it sparkled during sunset made everyone in the clan smile. There were dvd’s, rainbow colored glass, bracelets, rings, fish bones, tinsel of many colors, and at the top a broken star like the ones on the two-legs trees.
