Hey everyone!
Just a little message I want to throw out there that Warg has approved of, and while I'm no mod for Westrossa, I feel this needs to be said;
Just because you have not won a mustang does not mean you need to go about begging artists or otherwise; complaining or whining or guilt tripping them with the hopes of getting a freebie is against the rules, and it only serves to anger the artists. Whether this is intentional or not, it doesn't need to be done. You will get your chance and if you find you're simply not winning any of those you apply for, reevaluate your entries and compare to others to see if maybe you're lacking something.
If you find you are, all you need to do is put in just a little bit of work! I am no coding wizard, but I do know basic bbcode and HTML, and it shows when I add in even a simple picture or some fancy script, or just center things when the artist asks for the applications to be more than just a simple name/gender/personality. It does show if you've put in any effort to the artists. You don't need to be a great and amazing coder or artist of any type, you don't need to make it fancier than everyone else, but when you go the extra mile in the ones you've applied for, as long as the artist allows it, you're chances will grow to adopt the mustang!
I think we all need to keep in mind that school has begun, and many of the artists are either in their last year(s) of high school or are in college! Classes are important, grades are important, and that will always, always, come before Westrossa Mustangs. The artists do not need to be bothered on when they intend to judge a mustang, they do not need to be asked if they'll finish breedings, and they definitely do not need to be bothered for menial things in regards to hopefully pushing out any new adopts whatsoever. This is unacceptable for us as the community, and it only frustrates the artists themselves. And personally, when I become frustrated with someone, I can and do ignore them. If it continues, I inform them I have rescinded any agreements we came to, whether that be slot trades/horse trades/etc; I do not tolerate others pressing me when I have my plate full at home and with work, and our amazing artists and mods should not have to put up with it either.
That being said; there are plenty of resources online and within the CS community to help flesh out any applications, there are people who are willing to teach or offer advice if you simply ask politely; I for one can and will happily assist in the basics of coding, in helping to decide whether this name or that would fit what you're looking at. I'm a writer, not a drawer, so I'm happy to lend my nearly fifteen years of experience into proofreading entries; all you have to do is ask me, and I'll let you know if I have time or not. This does not guarantee, of course, that I can offer my help or even that you'll win, but I am happy to try however I am able to.
