goob: Dango
choice: 1
response: [179]
After successfully being able to find an ingredient, Dango is thrilled with himself, holding his lavender flower proudly in his hands... He was still determining what he would do with it, but he was curious to know if what he gathered would even be helpful.
Strutting up semi-confidently he listened to the discussion and decided that he would like to opt into choice number 1, the one that would help wake up the other goobies! After all, don't many hands make for light work? If able to awaken more goobies, Dango thought that they would be able to gather more ingredients, and ultimately solve this... situation they had all found themselves in.
He wasn't entirely sure how to use his ingredient to wake up a friend though, and so he found himself seeking guidance from the two ... scientists? or whatever they were, asking if there was anything else he could do to help or if they just needed more ingredients to help wake up more agels & start working out how to solve the mystery of the sleep-inducing darkness.

goob: Inori
choice: 2, ingredients can be used to help the specimen
response:
Inori was panicking. And Inori had never panicked before!
"Zeta? Zetaaaaaa?" she called out, but it seemed like her brother was already out gathering ingredients. She sighed and saw the sleeping agel Zeta nearly risked his life to save. Someone called Wilma, Zeta told her before, probably a fellow worker from Zeta's arcade Testament. Wilma was now twitching, but their eyes were still completely shut. "Take care of Wilma for me," Zeta said to Inori before putting a melted candle he gathered from the mage tower into her paws - then leaving.

Hmph. Let Maxrage take care of Wilma. I don't care about them. Her big brother's putting his acquaintance into her hands was a huge mistake. There was nothing in the world Inori cared about except for Maxrage. Oh and also Zeta and Moe. Of course not Wilma.

"Hey Ino..." Rune nudged Inori and pointed to the candle in her paws. "I know you believe in a different overlord, but... wouldn't it be nice if you could help? With the ingredients your brother gathered? I mean, the specimen..."

Inori glanced over at the mass of black goo. It was bulging in a million different directions, oozing a dark mass like the starless night that swallowed all the Agels, and now it's coming for her too. "Well what do you mean of course I want that gone," Inori snapped. Tsk. Tsk. If only Maxrage could solve everything like on Rapyuta... Inori suddenly began missing home. What's left of home for her was Zeta and Moe, now that black goo was threatening Zeta every moment he's gone... no, she will solve it. "I will help wake up the creature," Inori summoned all her courage and finally squeezed out the words like a mosquito's buzz.

"Wait a minute," another diab asked as he dragged another unconscious agel into the lab. "Are you sure you're not trying to wake up our agel friends first? Because what's in your paw seems interesting."

"Duh, they're not - dead - or something. They're just asleep. We can wake them up anytime." Inori shook her head and began walking towards the specimen, even though she wanted to turn her head away she kept her eyes focused on the oozing thing. "As for that... we need it solved soon as possible."

Inori's read all about heroes in stories, followed one (though Maxrage is more of an anti-hero okay) for all her life. Now she needs to be one herself, even though that means being an anti-hero.

goob: Grim
choice: 2
response: Grim admittedly did not have much luck, searching for ingredients. Rather, he had the worst luck, and had nearly been knocked out himself by a wave of drowsiness. But what could be done about it? He simply had to keep trying, when he was ready again. As he made his way back, he saw a lot of goobies working in various ways to fix the problem. Startled, he realized a couple of fellow diabs however had also fallen into deep sleep. So it seemed they were not immune, simply had a built in resistance? This was troubling.

The more hands they had awake, after all, the more eyes and ears they could get on figuring out what the creature was and solving this problem. But they were simply sleeping right, comatose? They would be fine right? Still, the longer they slept the longer they went without food, without water. If enough time passed, that was another problem they would all need to figure out how to fix.

And yet... maybe the solution to both problems was one and the same. Maybe if they figured out what the creature was and helped it, everyone woke up. And so he made his way out to look for ingredients, so he could interact with the little fellow again. He had promised it he would help, after all. Plus, he had promised his friends he would fix this. Somehow, he would. (237)

goob: Kaze
choice: 1. ingredients can be used to awaken goobies
response: Kaze returned to show the scientists the court lavender they found, and to report their findings from watching the specimen. Which was... Not much, to be honest. Granted, he had just been watching it from afar, so perhaps it was to be expected that nothing had really happened. Maybe next time they observe it, they should move a little closer? Then again, the scientists had warned the group not to get too close... Kaze sighed inwardly. Just watching from a distance did not appear to accomplish anything, but he was also wary of disobeying the scientists' suggestions. Surely there was a reason the group had been warned to be careful, right? Some of the goobies who had gotten close to the creature had seemed to be a bit more tired afterwards... Maybe it was having the same effect on goobies as the darkened sky did? Though, it did not appear to be hostile or anything. Maybe... Maybe none of this was intentional? Maybe the goobies falling asleep like that had all been an accident?

Regardless of their feelings of uncertainty, their spirits were quickly lifted when they heard the first of the theories. The ingredients could possibly be used to awaken the sleeping goobies? That was wonderful news! Kaze had been hoping his efforts would be useful for the purpose of helping wake up the goobies who had fallen asleep somehow, and though he had been rather disappointed with his lack of information to offer about the specimen he had been observing, it was a relief to know that not all of his efforts had been in vain. They had a hopeful smile on their face for the first time since everything had happened.

Upon hearing the second theory, Kaze glanced over at the specimen. The ingredients might be able to help the specimen, too? Well, Kaze had decided he was not going to give up until he helped everyone. "Everyone" included the specimen too, right? In that case, they were just going to have to gather more ingredients! Enough so that he could help the sleeping goobies and the specimen!

But in the meantime, Kaze wanted to focus his efforts on helping the sleeping goobies first. Besides, they were really curious about how the ingredients could be used to wake someone up. Kaze was sure that the scientist must have some idea in mind for how that might work. And though Kaze had never been particularly scientifically minded himself, he was happy to do whatever he could to help others, so he would try his best to help with this! And maybe, the group would even learn more about how to help the specimen if they were able to wake up the goobies who were asleep! After all, if the creature had been involved in this somehow, maybe the sleeping goobies were able to interact with it in their dreams, and learn more about the situation...

Kaze could only hope. They really wanted everything to work out well. And so, they set out to search for ingredients again.
Despite everything,

goob: neptune
choice: 1
response: neptune stared at the rotting fruit, trying his hardest to think of a recipe to include it in. perhaps a smoothie or something would wake someone up?

goob: pitre
choice: 1
response:
pitre felt no indecision toward the choice of what he’d use his ingredients for - to him, goobies were more important. he understood the interest in studying the specimen, and it wasn’t something he was completely against, but his morals led him to direct his focus towards saving his friends, acquaintances, and generally anyone else affected by the sudden drowsiness first. it felt right to prioritize the familiar and living over something unknown; and plus - the specimen can wait, right? what if the sleeping goobs would get weaker and weaker the longer they’re asleep? the thought of potentially putting goobies at risk terrified him. [103 words]

goob: atlas
choice: 1
response:
atlas slowly approached the pile of sleeping goobies, suddenly feeling a sense of regret for sharing one of the ingredients he found with the specimen. he wondered what had compelled him to do so, sighing as he reflected upon his actions. the diab wanted everyone to be okay, and hoped they would be able to find a remedy soon. before now, atlas had never realized how much others meant to him - why would he choose to fuel what was, in essence, a blob of goo when he could use his resources to work towards awakening those who were asleep instead? it didn’t really make sense to him. goob: Moonstone
choice: 2
response:
Moonstone sat in thought as he thought about the ingredients, sure they didn't seem to be much right now but there has to be something they can do in order to help the specimen and hopefully that would result in goobies waking up along the way as well.

goob: Jemini
choice: 2
response:
Thinking it might be best to solve the Specimen problem first Jemini wanted to try and see if the ingredients would be of any help to it, looking at everything around them to try and come up with some kind of mixture that might work together to help, their head tilting as they hummed in thought.
"We obviously are missing things but I think we should try and help the specimen. If we don't we all might end up falling asleep." They said while sitting down.

goob: Bubs
choice: 1. ingredients can be used to awaken goobies
it's more important to focus on curing our friends!
response:
An uncharacteristic frown makes itself known on Bubs' face as he listens to the disappointment coming from the sciencey goobie in front of him. It seems that the items he and many other goobies have gathered were not enough. They're all trying their best to find useful things, though. It's not exactly easy, either.

But he still sits and listens as the scientist explains his theories about what they could use the various items for. They only had so many options. There wasn't really much of a choice. Bubs didn't have to do much thinking to know what he'd choose.

"Focus on friends. Friends need help," Bubs answers after a moment of thinking, "Creature important too but..." He glances over to the corner where he had previously left Reese tucked up and asleep. Fidgeting nervously with his paws as he does. "Miss friend. Friend gone. Bub worry."

He can't stop the way his goo seems to ache all over as he thinks of what might happen if his friend never wakes from her forced slumber. He hopes, at least, that she is having nice dreams. Perhaps she is even having fun in her dream world. Fast asleep and unaware of the chaos the world has been put into thanks to the appearance of the mystery creature. That was his hopes for her, at least.

Maybe if they used the things they had found while exploring outside, they'd be able to find a way to wake the sleeping goobies? He could only hope.

"Please help friend! Bub get more trinket to use."

Bubs would do whatever it took to find a way to Reese. Even if it meant he himself ended up falling asleep, too. It would be worth it if it meant he was closer to finding a way to cure the sudden sleepiness.

[304 words]

goob: Soleil
choice: 2. ingredients can be used to help the specimen
we must solve the mystery of the creature first!
response:
Soleil comes to the conclusion that helping the creature would be the best course of action. If they could find a way to stop it then maybe people would stop falling asleep.

choice: ingredients can be used to help the specimen
response:
luv took a moment to think from both angles; it would be logical, at least to them, to try and do something about the specimen first. after all, what's the point of waking everyone up if they'll just end up going right back to sleep because of the creatures presence? at the same time though, they understood how everyone else felt about helping their friends, though they did think that everyone's reactions were too emotionally charged. in the end they decided that it'd probably be better to deal with the specimen first. "Well... I think that whatever is going on with the sky and with all of this sleepiness has something to do with the specimen... so it wouldn't be the craziest idea to figure out what's going on with the specimen first. After all, if we wake the others up only for them to fall back asleep.... then we would just be back to square one..."
