Tambo remembered this excitement from when he was a cub. He couldn't blame them for being excited since this was the first season they were able to participate. He casually followed them as they gathered colorful leaves to decorate the dens. He could only chuckle seeing such a determined face with a mouth full of leaves.
He sat beside them and watched as they plastered the leaves on the cave walls.
"Are you enjoying the season so far?" Tambo asked.
"Yeah! This is so much fun." The cub responded, slapping another leaf to the wall. Tambo had to marvel at the colors that they cub had chosen.
"I only ask that you express caution during this time of year," Tambo said. The cub stopped for a moment to look up at him.
"What do you mean?" The cub asked.
"This time of year is when spirits start to get restless. This is why every year we go to their graves, to talk to them and keep them company. So that way they stay in our hearts as good spirits. Those who are forgotten tend to be angered during this season." Tambo explained. The cub nodded thoughtfully before shuffling through their leaves and setting them aside.
"Then I'll bring some of these to their graves, so they won't miss out on the decorating." The cub said before continuing their assault on the cave wall. Tambo smiled and gave their head a lick before leaving them to their task.
