Commenting on the poll posted on the main thread:

I honestly think it wouldn't turn out well. I've seen so many people "lose" their adopts and never get them back, and I know not everyone would make a post in the archive/update it regularly. I also have to say that you should definitely keep track of the coins, so people don't try to cheat the system by "forgetting" (genuinely or not) to update their total or adding more to their total.

My suggestion:

Since you're hiring mini-mods anyway, why not hire someone of a reputable status to host an archive? It sounds like a good way to lessen your workload while still keeping everything in place, at least to me. I wouldn't be surprised if you've thought of this already, but I figured putting it out there couldn't hurt.

I second this motion.
Having a trustworthy archivist means that you can just hand over all that extra work to someone else, and members don't have to try and remember what they've spent and what they haven't

I mean, I keep my own archive anyway, because I'm OCD and I love that kind of thing
But having a regular archivist would definitely give Weeest a bit of a break

@M00N That was something I was concerned about. But before I jumped into anything I thought I'd try to gather some feedback from all you guys regarding the situation just so I could at least build up on the decision.

Hiring an Archivist is a possibility, but it's not something I'm particularly keen on for the sole reason that the archivist may very well stop updating altogether unless someone reminds them - even if they are reputable. It's happened with adopts of mine before hence why I choose to take the responsibility on myself. Besides, I also like to update the archives as soon as possible so that there's no confusion with anything... otherwise it gets a bit over my head if a mistake is made XD

However, I have got an idea in mind as to what to do now for the archives.
It's not the prettiest of ideas, but I was thinking of recycling what I did with the archives for my old The Dragon's Den adopts whereas it's an entire thread with the first post having a contents list with links to each user and each post dedicated to the adopts and inventory of each owner. It's tried and tested as being pretty solid so it's what I might just do.

But in all seriousness I do have another horse litter planned for this weekend. Or maybe ponies. Or another breed-themed litter.
I kind of feel like making more Fjords or Arabs. They're just so much fun ~
Either way, some sort of equine-based litter will be coming out.

Honestly, I'm happy with whatever you decide, so long as it doesn't create extra work on your part
