where does your floc (or you and your floc) live and what does that place look like?

is it easy to access or impossible to find?
the middle of a bustling city or an isolated cabin in the middle of the woods?

describe it through writing or depict it through art !
if drawn, your floc should be included.

    What makes a home? wrote:
'Where do you live?' Well- that's an interesting question for Vide Noir, and one not answered easily, even now. For a time, his home was an old storage unit in a rainy sort of town; a lightless cube of 5 in all directions and cluttered with dozens of boxes and bags overflowing with stale aura that barely served to keep him alive. That his key was found after only eight months in the unit was nothing short of miraculous in the floc's mind, and it seemed his presence seemed to awaken something in the person who'd found it. For a very short time, home was then a spartan sort of apartment- wider and lighter than the unit, empty where there had been excess, little more than just a place to sleep. But that quickly changed, his keybearer quitting the job that had led to their meeting, the apartment and units both left in the dust.

Home became them, for lack of better wording. Home was a day's ride on a bus, catching sleep under a bridge or a quiet park, was a dozen rooms in as many days as they traded work for food and rest. Home was under the stars on sleepless nights, where he twisted and turned to show off his markings, asking Shepard again and again, 'have we found me up there?', and the answer always being 'not yet'. Home was when she finally got a dinged but sturdy old truck and travel between small cities became travel between counties; and eventually, home became a house less than a day's walk from a forest overflowing with ancient magic. Simple on the outside- plain boards that have only been sealed against the elements and a slate-shingled roof, and admittedly? It's not the most thrilling inside, either. Still, Noir considers it a much homier home than their last fixed one- this one has bookshelves and furniture that actually looks nice and soft (even if he can't actually sit on them yet...), even some art on the walls (his choice, overall, which is why most of it is renderings of various nebulae and galaxies). It's also far more than just himself and Shepard, now- he shares the place with anywhere from three to a dozen dogs at a given time! He doesn't mind it too much though, and actually rather enjoys spending time with the first one Sidney picked up. He quite loves the yard too- even with the addition for the kennels, it's a wonderfully open space, though definitely a bit on the noisy side when everyone's out there. Even with this place, though...

Sometimes home is the forest itself, long weeks spent trekking through and making careful note of the state of things, finding shelter under ancient trees older already than he'll ever hope to be and splashing (or trying to) through cold rivers, even- in one memorable adventure- stumbling upon the rotted remains of an entire town. So in the end... it's a bit tricky for Noir to answer 'where do you live', because at this point? Better to ask where hasn't he lived?

For Freeze the locale he currently calls home is a rather small apartment in the thriving city of Chicago. It's constantly alive, constantly noisy, and frequently cold, but he absolutely loves it there and he wouldn't trade his cozy little nook in the busy metropolis for anything. The building itself is simple redstone and sits in one of the more bustling areas, but it's right across from a restaurant that serves the best mac n cheese ever, so it's completely worth the surrounding traffic in his opinion. There's also a nice little park not too far away where he can go relax outside and chase after pigeons. Although most of the time Freeze prefers to spend his time indoors where he feels safest and most content. His favorite place of all in his keyholder's abode is the kitchen, where all the delicious snacks are kept. It's pretty bare boned as far as kitchens go, simple stainless steel appliances with a white fridge that hasn't been replaced in years that makes funny noises during the night, but the no-frills system functions well in the limited space. More often than not Freeze finds himself on the gray countertops mooching nibbles off of whatever his keybearer is eating. But if they're not in the kitchen, then they're probably in the living room, sitting on the super plush silver colored sofa and watching action movies on their extra large tv, or playing some awesome new video game that just released. (Or at least his keybearer plays while Freeze taps buttons wildly on the other controller the whole time because he thinks he's helping.) The tv is currently sitting on a large white cabinet with glass doors that holds their collections of amiibo and pokemon figurines. Princess Peach is his favorite for some reason, her design is so regal and soft! There's also a festive rug on the floor with white, dark red, yellow, and orange stripes, that's covering up a stain from the time Freeze accidentally knocked over a box of take-out. (He still feels bad about that. He brought his keybearer a bunch of shiny pebbles he found the next day to apologize.) There've also got dark navy curtains covering the windows to keep out the draft, as well as a big fluffy gray pullover on a simple black armchair in the corner, as it gets pretty cold during the winter. But the coziest place in the apartment? That has to be the bedroom, where they have the snuggliest fleece comforter. It's white and fluffy on the underside and the outside is a royal shade of blue that shimmers in the light and looks soft as velvet. They've got tons of pillows too, in blues and whites, and a scarlet eye-catching red one because Freeze liked that one and his keybearer couldn't say no. They've spent so many mornings curled up in bed together, sometimes reading a book or just chilling out and enjoying the silence. (Technically Freeze isn't on the bed, but he still likes to get under the covers, which has resulted in him accidentally floating away and pulling the comforter off his keybearer in his sleep. He's always extraordinarily embarrassed and sorry after that.) Their little apartment might not be much but he adores it to pieces. And the view of the city out of his window first thing in the morning when the sun is peeking over the skyline? To him it's the best sight in the whole world. [580]

Kiro's home is located on a beautiful secluded cliffside overlooking a pristine white beach on the coast of the Okinawa Prefecture in Japan. His keybearer has a traditional minka style house made from light brown wood that seems to turn gold with the light of the rising sun. It is relatively simple with few frills on the outside, though there is good reason for that. No one else lives in the area and Kiro and his keybearer have this little patch of untouched paradise all to themselves, because this place is in fact a wildlife sanctuary. It was classified as such due to the nesting of sea turtles and other precious indigenous creatures. Kiro's keybearer is a wildlife conservationist and oversees the environment with great care. There are certain species in particular that he is currently researching and monitoring, so he has been allowed to live in the area provided his own impact on the ecosystem is as minimal as possible. He has kept to his mandate with fervor, going without fanciful things and enjoying a lifestyle wholly dedicated to nature. It's a way of life that completely suits Kiro to a T as well. There's nothing more wonderful to the floc than waking up just in time to see the dawn rise over the sparkling blue ocean, a refreshing breeze stirring his fur and getting him excited to see the day. He likes to spend his time exploring the various hillsides and coves around the beaches in the area, discovering new hidden treasures and amazing flora and fauna that he eagerly shows to his keybearer so they can observe and take notes about the land and it's inhabitants. There's places with dark caves, shallow tide pools, rockbeds, and glorious groves of Adan trees that make this place a unique escape. Kiro’s favorite spot is a dark alcove nestled behind some shadowy cliffs where the sounds of the waves reverberate off the walls and make an enchanting melody for him to listen to while he admires the sea life that resides in a small pool, sheltered by the rocks. When he’s had enough alone time he’ll go enjoy the company of his keybearer, usually while he’s studying nature, or, he’s recently taken to raking the sand on the beach, much like a sand garden, as a way to pass the time as well as connect to the land. Kiro could watch the swirls and patterns for hours on end, mesmerized by the trails taking shape before his eyes. Once the very full day is over they retire back to the simple house, relaxing on red plush cushions placed on the tatami mats and enjoying a delicious meal made with local ingredients. There's large paintings hung on the walls depicting nature, rich with vibrant colors that add a wonderful atmosphere to the space. There's a small crane located in the corner of one painting that Kiro loves and has named Yūsha, meaning Brave. Something about the way he stands out in beautiful white against the all the other colors even though he's not very big seems brave to him. He's spent quite a while admiring these paintings, as the two frequently have tea together, especially when it's raining. In the spring rainy season it's usually best to stay in doors, though they're safely above the waves being on the cliff in case it gets a bit stormy. Hearing the pitter patter of droplets on the roof while he sips at some herbal tea is one of Kiro's favorite experiences. He's found peace in this cozy bit of paradise and it feels like the first time he's truly found a home. He's grateful for it every single day. [616]

Angie wrote:To Angie, the farmhouse was the place that held her family. It was a place she could always return to after a long day of playing and exploring, knowing it would welcome her home with a sun-warmed blanket and lovingly told “goodnight”s. The house was near magical in its ability to tie everyone together, Angie felt; every wallpapered or hand-painted room held memories that wove the flox (and their keyholder) together tighter than any material in the universe. Every room was a great chamber in the house’s heart, thrumming with the lifeblood of the flox family’s lives.
Angie’s favorite place in the farmhouse, by far, was the kitchen. The kitchen was large, with expansive countertops often cluttered with vials, vases stuffed with colorful flowers, and a smattering of magical trinkets. The cupboards held a variety of foods and ingredients grown from the garden and fields of the farmhouse, organized by a system that only Fenny seemed to know. The walls of the kitchen were covered in paint, depicting flowers, trees, birds, insects, humans, and more; each floc had contributed something to the ongoing mural, and often added new life to it with their paws as they saw fit. As the first one in the house to wake up, Angie always took it upon herself to trim, change the water of, and swap out the flowers in the kitchen, taking great care to arrange them to her liking. Her own room was on the second floor, and was itself filled with various potted plants, as well as a few glass sculptures that rested on the sill of the large window in the room facing the rising sun. In the morning, as Scute was returning home and as Fen and the keyholder awoke, all of the family would have breakfast together there. Scute would proudly tell of his nighttime ventures and Fen would recall his dreams from the night prior or speak on his plans for the day ahead while the keyholder prepared them a meal that suited each of their specific tastes, occasionally interjecting with their own thoughts. The flox often spent many hours during the day in the kitchen, wrestling, talking, eating, or just enjoying the sunshine that filtered through the sunroof above them. Another thing Angie loved about the farmhouse was the large windows that spread across the walls, allowing not only the sunshine in but a clear view of the fields, pens, gardens, and woods around it.
Angie’s second favorite place wasn’t technically in the farmhouse at all, but in the fields of plants that stretched out behind it. One of these fields was filled with sunflowers, tall and majestic, their great black eyes facing the sun as it rolled across the sky. She often raced through the sunflowers, relishing in the rustling sounds of their leaves as she pushed past them and napping in their shade when she tired. Angie had always felt a connection to the sunflowers, not only because of her own matching floral fur, but because of the aura that radiated from them. It was her favorite thing to feed on, far better even than sunflower seeds themselves, which she considered her favorite food. Even the fields behind the farmhouse held memories made with Fen, Scout, and their keyholder. One of Angie’s first memories at the farmhouse was in the sunflower field, planting the tiny seeds with her keyholder, watching them bloom, and finally harvesting them for their seeds. Angie loved the flox farmhouse almost as much as she loved its inhabitants. (588 words)

Asra enjoys the free flowing lifestyle where he and Saorise travel from place to place. Being an antique seller and collector means that there are many excuses for them to travel. It might include stopping at a small town to check for mysterious hauntings or going to some bigger cities to break some accidental curses a kid cast. Sometimes a particularly wealthy sponsor requests for them to visit and peruse their estate to evaluate their items to see if there is anything that can make them even more particularly wealthy. These are very interesting trips since they likely have large collections and lots of neat non magical knick knacks that they easily part with after a day's work.

Saorise is rather excited by the minute differences in antiques but Asra only cares about the entertainment factor of the items. Things like spinning projectors, illustrious abstract sculptures and toys are all of interest to Asra. That is until the items that have psychic powers imbued in them cause Asra to feel a resonance with the item. With all of the collections they go through, it is nice to have a goal for Asra to aim for. What makes this bronze statuette different from this silver mirror? Well, there is a difference if it can consolidate Asra's aura! It is like a scavenger hunt to find the pieces that would unlock Asra's past and true form.

Some items they find with psychic energy can be rather unconventional, like a cursed inkpot. Who decides to curse an inkpot? Would the caster put evil intent into the ink that can be transferred to the receiver if they wrote a letter? (This is one of the items people feel easy to part with. There are tools like ballpoint pens or even the computer to write a strongly worded letter nowadays!). Though, some things may be harder to convince collectors to let go of. Time pieces are some of the most popular things to collect so it may be a lost cause to grab those since they can just be so particular about parting with that exact make or model even if they don't care for the magical nature of the clock itself.

Saorise understands the need to figure out the history of things, let alone the history of a floc. That means she is easily willing to look for items with Asra. For those people who track down Saorise for a lost heirloom, it seems that even if the memories are bad, good, in between, it usually helps bring a sense of peace to know that it happened at all. With the unfortunate past of the flox, if Asra wants to unlock his true form to reconcile with the monsters he locked away, then Saorise has no choice but to support him. Asra isn't sure if it was a point of pride or not, but locking monsters away to try and save the planet seems like the noble thing to do. Why hide from it if he now has a trustworthy key holder to figure everything out with?

For as long as they can remember back, starshine has always been drawn to the stars at night. Something about the moon, the stars, the other planets out there so far away, left them in wonder of what is truly out there. Their keyholder, a young student studying astrophysics, may have been something that led them to have such an interest in space... but they don't know for certain. It does help though, that their main role model is taking the study of outer space so seriously. It makes them feel good to know that they have a shared interest with each other too.

Starshine's keyholder is someone who is virtuous themselves, a person who strives to make new discoveries that will hopefully one day help others. Starshine wants similar - they want to learn more about the unknown of our outer space to maybe make some new discoveries. Would they find new things that could help progress science? Would they find new things that could help life on Earth? Who knows! The possibilities of what there is to discover out there are endless.

All this being said, Starshine hopes to go through catharsis because they believe it will help them on their journey of discovery. They know there is a lot of mystery shrouded around what happens when going through catharsis.. but this doesn't phase them, as they are always looking at taking on the unknown up front without fear. They hope that maybe their catharsis and eventual awakening will give them more physic ability to connect with the unknown of outer space, in ways that humans haven't been able to do before. Maybe catharsis will help them find those new discoveries they always dreamed of finding... and maybe, it'll be things that can help make a difference in the world.

Sunset would like to grow Lithops as she seems to find it funny that these plants look like stones. She enjoys using them to play pranks on unsuspecting people. But if compared to other things, she would much rather learn more things than to grow plants. Sunset doesn't really know much about the world and would love to learn more.
There are many places she would like to visit so she reads up about the world. She would also go out to the outdoors to go birdwatching as she likes to chase other creatures just for fun. She hopes to discover the entire world and she would love to find a new species herself. She wishes to unlock her powers and memories but if it isn't possible, then she would satisfy herself with discovering the big wide world. Although she hasn't discovered the entire world yet, she loves it a lot which is why she would want to explore.
She also wants to know more about her past, thus always looking for chances to unlock her memories. Sunset loves Lithops as they are survivors and also because of their interesting shapes and stone-like colours. She loves watching them grow and bloom flowers and also enjoys the looks of astonishment at the "stones" blooming flowers.
That being said, she would still rather learn more than plant Lithops but it is however, a second favourite activity for her.
