Link to pride or group: Isle of RosesAttack: "What is this thing?" Cole demanded as he managed to escape from underneath the creature, regrouping with Kina. The action of the fire had apparently loosened his tongue, at least a little, and he was having an easier time talking than he usually did, probably because he wasn't focusing so much on what he was saying and therefore didn't have all the time he normally did to overthink anything he might say.
"I don't know! But it's definitely stronger than the things we faced before," the lioness responded, chest heaving as the monster turned its head and attention away from them to focus on some of the other attacking champions.
"It's giant-"
"-it breathes fire-"
"-and it's incredibly angry," Cole finished, shoving Kina out of the way as a burst of green flame shot towards them, though neither lion was sure of whether the blast was just a part of a larger spray, or if the monster had specifically been targeting them with the blow.
"By the rose, how are we meant to fight something like this?" she hissed, shaking her head.
The brown and black lioness' eyes narrowed as she focused on the creature, desperately searching for some sort of opening or weakness. There had to be something, some sort of clue as to how they could take it down. They were sustaining injuries, plenty of them, and she couldn't help but feel like they had barely made a dent on that creature.
Cole murmured something unintelligibly beside her, speaking so fast that the only word she caught from what he said was "face." In confusion, she glanced to him, and his ears fell flat against his head as he ducked his head to look away.
"What, did you have an idea?" He shook his head, but Kina didn't believe him for a second, so she prodded again. "What were you thinking? You were obviously thinking of something. Come on, we need any ideas we can get right now, whether they're right or not. Anything is better than nothing."
Taking a deep breath, Cole finally got out, "Its face." Noting the obvious confusion on Kina's face, he huffed, ducking his head again so that he didn't have to look at her. "I knew it was dumb," he mumbled.
"No no no!" Kina said hurriedly, furiously shaking her head before pushing them both out of the way of a writhing root that the monster had summoned. "I just need a bit more information. What about its face?"
Cole looked at her suspiciously for a moment before finally managing to get out, "I just, uh, well, what if we go for its face? Like...its eyes and stuff? But we can't get up there, so it's a dumb idea."
Kina shook her head once again. "It's not dumb at all!" When her battle partner raised his head to look at her and grunt, obviously not buying it, she huffed in frustration. "I'm serious! If we can find a way to get at its eyes, maybe we'll actually stand a fighting chance. Come on, let's see what we can do. Maybe we can get its face down low, and then we can leap at them."
She didn't miss the way he managed to lift his head and shift his stance to stand a bit more confidently again as they discussed how they could go about it. Finally, they settled on an idea, and Cole shot off towards the beast's feet, avoiding a jet of green flames as he weaved around them, clawing at the wood that coated them. Kina hurried after, poised and ready to jump to scratch at its eyes when it lowered its head enough to try and get Cole, who would hopefully succeed in avoiding his claws and other tricks till it got to that point.
