Harley's apartment is extremely messy. It's a very small college dorm-esque studio apartment, so you would expect it to get fairly messy pretty easily. No, this apartment turns into a horror movie disaster the moment she steps foot in it. She's like a walking tornado for this place and it begs for mercy just from her existing in it's space. The only real furniture is a couch and an old T.V., everything else is just completely random. She sleeps on a rolled out sleeping bag on top of an old and partially torn up memory foam slice, there's no table or chairs, heck she got lucky that the place even came with a microwave and fridge. The couch looks like it's a million years old with how beat up and worn it is, and the T.V. is so outdated the color is faded and it has a VCR attached.
There's Monster Energy Drink cans every where, the tabs pulled off and stored in a huge jar in the kitchen. The floor is so littered with dirty clothes you'd think that was the carpet. If you squint really hard you might be able to notice some plants here and there, but no one has any clue as to how they managed to stay alive in this hell put of filth. They're vibrant and healthy, as if Harley had struck a deal with a Goddess to keep them alive. It's amazing how even Harley is still alive despite living there.
Those bowls of instant ramen? Those aren't decorations, they're real. Why yes! That IS a whole city of live culture growing inside that one! If you take a closer look, you'll notice the bacteria has evolved enough to invent technology.
Despite all this, the place has such a nice overlook of the city, and it really does have a chance to be a really nice apartment, if Harley could afford more and better furniture as well as generally keeping it all clean after picking it all up.

"My home? Kaida asked, pausing. No one had really asked her that. She hesitated before explaining, "Well, the place I call home now isn't where I was born, but I don't think that matters much, if you want my opinion. Nowadays though, I live with Mira, my mentor. While we travel the world selling our wares and exploring, we always have a place to come back to. It's not much but it's enough for us.

You see we have a small house, well I suppose you could call it a cottage, near the coast where the land meets the sea. It's really quiet and always makes me smile when we get back. It's small and made of stone and wood, only having two bedrooms, one for me and one for Mira. It more than anything I've ever had and I'm grateful for it everyday I'm there. I've never been in Mira's room but my room is small and cozy with more bookshelves and soft things than anything else. And I always keep it clean, always. I can't stand it if things aren't put away.

There's a living room with more windows than walls facing the ocean and two of the softest, most comfortable couches I've ever felt. We spend a lot of time in the living room reading, so there has to be soft things to sit on. There's also a large kitchen, with just about any food you could imagine and even ones you can't. And while I can't cook, Mira can and we always have home cooked meals when we're there.

Now, while I love my room and my books, I think one of my favorite parts of living in our seaside cottage with no one else, has got to be the garden we've managed to somehow keep alive. It lays in a raised bed on our porch facing the sea, so it can have as much sun as it wants. It might now be the prettiest garden out there or the largest, but we planted everything ourselves, from herbs like rosemary and sage to flowers like dahlia's and even my favorite flowers, Sunflowers, and have tended to it and for some reason, it's survived despite our lack of gardening knowledge. We also spend a lot of time here too, so we have lots of chairs all along the porch, just so we can sit and have a peaceful moment. Mira also set out bird feeders, which I didn't know was a thing until she explained it to me. I was skeptical at first but when those first birds came when we were having breakfast in the garden, She made me a true believer that bird feeders are an essential part of life.

It seems like a paradise every time we return and I have no problem calling it home."

"Home?" Fera began, before pausing, deep in thought. "I suppose... hm. I suppose my home is deep in the forest, on the outskirts of... some sort of town." She hummed, "I forgot the name, to be honest."

Fera cleared her throat before continuing. "Many call the forest an endless maze, but honestly? It is very easy to traverse, if you are light-hearted. You must listen carefully. The trees... they whisper, mindless nothings, words that seemingly make no sense, but seem familiar. Like an ancient spell. Follow them, they will guide you through. Be careful, however. The animals seem to like drawing you off of the path, like its a game. If that happens, well... it depends. If it's day? Lets hope you remember your way back. If its night... search for the light, and follow it. You won't get any closer, in fact, it will look like it is further away--but that's good. That means you are back onto the path."

Fera shook her head, chuckling. "Enough about that. The rumors about the forest... that is not what you asked about. My home... I couldn't tell you where it is, you'd have to go yourself. The forest is tricky like that. But... if you wander far enough in, you can find a large clearing with a spring. That is where I live, in a hut I built myself, when I was a kit. It's quite small, but enough for one person, two if you're careful with your space. Walls made of stone, a roof made of twigs and leaves. It's... not the best looking, but it works. I've got a garden outside, filled to the brim with almost every herb, fruit and vegetable you can imagine. There's a large, weeping willow next to the spring, and I have a small cooking pot there. It's quite beautiful... far enough away from any towns where you can see the stars. To be quite honest... I'd call it paradise."

The kalon paused, thinking. "If I had to guess... you'd like to know more about the town I mentioned earlier, no? Well... it's not the worst place. The people are decent, and are willing to help out if needed. But its... too advanced, I suppose the word is? Too many vehicles, loud noises, lights... The air isn't clean, and the water is... definitely something. It tastes off. I rarely go there, I'd much rather stay at home, or with the animals. However... there is something that always keeps me coming back." Fera blushed slightly, a small smile spreading across her face. "Or rather, someone. I know it sounds strange, but to be honest with you... I'd be willing to drop everything for her. While I described where I live, I'd like to say that I can be at home whenever I'm with her, no matter where I am. So... to really answer your question, home is wherever she is."

    achima -

achima beamed at the excitement mel had in his voice asking about her home, and she laughed a bit as she shifted to get comfortable. she eyed the small book he had open before meeting his eyes, placing her hands in her lap.

"well, originally, i was from earth, out in chicago. i lived a pretty normal life, and went to college for mechanics. and not car mechanics, either! i actually was trained to fix planes, helicopters, all that junk. and then, one day, some people from nasa contacted me and said they wanted me to come and fix up their space crafts.they had heard about how i was one of the best mechanics around, and i'm not trying to toot my own horn saying that, either" she laughed softly.

"so, i was thinking, yeah i'll just be fixing spacecrafts on earth to make sure they're good for flight, and that's what any normal person would think, right?" she talked with her hands as she spoke, and paused for dramatic affect before continuing. "wrong! they actually sent me to space! day of that i got there too, i only knew a few minutes before we took off that i would be going with them!" she exclaimed, her face going a bit red as she realized how loud she was being. glancing toward oran to make sure she didn't scare him, she looked back to mel, giving him a sheepish smile.

"sorry, i get a bit excited sometimes. anyway!" she waved her hand, "we go into space, and i'm amazed at everything i'm seeing around me, before we land at the BIGGEST spacecraft i've ever seen in my life! so this is where we were going to be staying, apparently, and... i was suppose to be the MAIN mechanic!" she calmed herself down for a moment as she stopped, not wanting to have a mini outburst again.

"while i love being a mechanic, i was thinking about how much this was gonna suck, you know? i'd never worked with something on this level, and i was nervous i wasn't going to be able to take it. but there were other mechanics there to help me, about 20 others, so eventually, i settled in and i was fine. so, to answer your question, my home is the spacecraft that is still sitting on mars up there."

achima's eyes made their way to the sky, the few stars that were out twinkling in her eyes. she smiled up at them, looking to mel.

"the sound of the gears as they're turning, the smell of the oil, the light chatting of my fellow people and their laughs ringing through my room; which is quite bit, and i'm glad for it. it's even bigger than my earth room," she chuckling, shifting how she was sitting once again. "it's especially comforting when i'm sleeping, weirdly enough. i don't know," she shrugged, seeming to be a little embarrassed in saying that.

"and then, a new home came about," she looked to the grass swaying below them, picking a few strands. she stared at it for a moment's time before scooting closer to oran, offering him the blades. when he lapped them up, she smiled and put her hand back down. her face was red, and her voice was softer.

"a vigilante girl came in, looking for work. i'm not sure why she came to me, as there were lots of other people she could talk to, and she didn't seem to be the type to be willing to fix stuff for money, more like the type to kill someone for some coin. but she's not really like that."

achima began running her hands through the grass, a small smile adorning her face.

looking to mel, the smile remained.

"her name is svetlana. after getting work from me, she stuck around and eventually became my friend. although i never gave her work again, since... it was all messed up," she said with a laugh.

"and then... we got closer... and we began dating. so home just isn't a spacecraft to me anymore, or the one here on earth. to be fair, i never thought of the one here on earth as one, my parents always belittled me..." she shook her head, closing her eyes, and continued with what she was saying. "home is the smell of hazlenut when she walks into the room. home is the laughter that fills my ears when i tell a funny joke. home is a hug, much needed after a hard day at work."

"home for me is her, and the spacecraft. both take care of me very well, and in return, i do the same."

Spirit blinked quietly. He wasn’t much of a speaker, but he also wasn’t much of an artist when put on the spot. He made a soft noise of discomfort as he tried to find the way to express everything he wanted to say. One claw went to scratch at his head, until he had a decent idea and moved into his bag to grab some small objects.

Chess Pieces. He then pulled out a large smoothed out rock that almost looked like a miniature table. He put the rock down, and started to place chess pieces on top of it. First, he placed both of the white bishops onto both of the white rooks, making two small towers. He did the same for the black pieces, and moved them closer together. “Gates. Black gate...White gate.”

He picked up a black knight, making the horse go through the black gate made of bishops and rooks. “Shadows go through black gate. Kept away from kalons. Safe.” He then did the same with the white knight. “Spirits like me….go through white gate. Help kalons stay safe.” He then moved all the large pieces, kings, queens and the like, over to the white side, while the black gate had nothing but pawns around it. “Shadow town small...Spirit town big. Makes shadows angry...”

One paw went to point at the white queen. “Spirit live here. Big house for all good ghost. Spirit live at top floor, with other ghosts that people like to see.” He then paused, looking away slightly. “Spirit...used to live here.”

Suddenly, he shoved the whole display over, the chess pieces collapsing in on themselves and falling off of the stone. “Home...Destroyed. Spirit no longer has house...Spirit has no friends...Spirit has nothing left…” He continued, finishing his little example as he packed away the chess pieces.

“Chess is all that Spirit has left. Spirit cannot live in chess...”

Morgan

My home?
Well, that’s a difficult question for me... I’d say there are multiple different answers. Home, it could be a person. A friend. Your home could be Oran if you loved him enough, if you feel safe with him, if laying with him makes you get the fuzzy little feeling inside your heart... my home is with Mirabelle. She’s the one who helped me to discover myself, who inspires me to keep moving. I love her with all of me, and anywhere I’m with her is my home now... but that’s not what you’re asking, is it?

Home for me, it is both earth and sea. I was born and raised on a small island, one big enough for myself and my woodwork, but not much more. No other people were the (except my grandfather) as I learned the craft, and gave worship to Land- Land, she is a merciful goddess, for while we love what Ocean provides, we could not live without Land. Land’s green blessings are what us from the islands use to survive- although perhaps the kneeling goddesses mountain is not so blessed, below. Regardless, I am the woodworker, I made my home on a small island off the Mainland, doing favors for their people and the children, creating boats so that they may travel on the sea. My home is the waves, whether they’re rolling gently onto the shore, whether they’re crashing dangerously during a storm. My home is the smell of salt and sand carried on the ever-blowing wind. My home is the soft warmth from the sun’s rays, and the smile on children’s faces when I bring them new wooden toys... my home is my everything.

    Kanpai sat up.
“Well, I come from a bland land, which is why I came here adventuring in the first place.”
Kanpai motioned towards the cow with his head.
“I mean, we definitely don’t have any of those! The most common creature is what we call a Foxenae. They are made from cookie dough and black licorice, so you already know what kind of creature it would be! My family grows red jelly bean stalks and we struggle to keep the Foxenae away. We do have sugar hounds, but they are too sweet and they don’t attack the fiends.”
Kanpai took a deep breath and continued,
“Trees here are quite strange. Yours clearly aren’t made of chocolate since the bark doesn’t taste very good! It is all so exciting, almost nothing here seems to be edible.”
Kanpai paused, realizing how quickly he spoke. A thought appeared into his head. Remember the polite thing to do in a conversation is to include others, don’t just make just about you, his mother had said once.
    Kanpai took another deep breath,
“Do you have friends here? Do you have family here?”
But unfortunately, Kanpai immediately forgot why he changed the subject.
“My best friend in the whole world lives just down cotton candy lane. She’s a ginger too! I bet you two would get along, she loves creatures. She believes Foxenaes should be able to run free and says we are in the wrong because it was their land first.”
    Kanpai pursed his lips.
“I’m sorry, I took over the conversation again. Do you think you could tell me more about your land?”

My home is a rather poor one. Not in the quality, but in the economy. I come from a small village out in the fields, with farmers and hunters, much like most other villages. We have a blacksmith, some bakers, some tailors and many other professions. Despite this, our town has long been very poor, due to the insane taxes set by the ruler of this country.

The Dragonlord rules this land with an iron fist, with high taxes and extremely strict laws. Even the slightest transgression is punishable by death, and the Lord does not care about his people in the slightest. But there is little anyone can do. He's powerful, both in might and in magic, and he has a divine task bestowed upon him that none dare trifle with. He guards the Celestial Clockworks, as all Dragonlords have done since the beginning of time in these lands. It matters not to me.

Many times have I tried to pray to the other divine Lords of this world. None of them have answered in any way. The great Lord of Fire and Magma sits apathetic in his volcano castle, the fleeting Lord of Time cannot be spotted staying in place for long. The God of Life and the God of Chaos do not want to get involved, and the Lord of Dreams has not been seen for many moons now. The God of Wishes and Hope has not responded either, and my patience has run out. If none of the Lords or Gods want to help us be free from the Dragonlord's tyrannical rule, then I will take it into my own hands. I left my village and home long ago, leaving my mother and the kind knights that trained me behind. I aim to overthrow the Dragonlord, end his rule and ensure prosperity for our land. If I have to take up a heavy burden upon my shoulders, then so be it. I will not see the hardworking people I care for suffer like this anymore... not even if it's at the hands of my own father. He forsake his people long ago, and with it, any love I could have ever had for him.
