Redwood Valley Equestrian Centre is pleased to announce the winners of this week's competition!
The dressage show was by far the most popular event, with a grand total of seven horses first place. Almost Illegal ultimately took that prize, competing with a near-perfect test and earning a standing ovation in response to his performance. Close behind him was TRRA Dagworth Maestro, whose excellent conformation and impressive talent lent itself well to his performance. SNG Winner Either Way started off the round well, but a rider error prevented her from giving the competition her best, and she was ultimately awarded with third place. MR Iconic Voutia started off the round well, but somehow he managed to lose a shoe in the middle of the round, and it unfortunately affected his performance just enough to relegate him to fourth place (and his owner had to pay a farrier bill of 25c). MR Moonlight Vesperae and Réalta San Oíche tied for fifth place, with MR Moonlight Vesperae just ahead until a slight disobedience sealed the results. Finally, MR Tenebris Glory came in seventh, although everyone present could see that the handsome Percheron had truly done his best.
There were only three competitors in three-day eventing, but that didn't make the competition any easier. Chestnut Wonderland ultimately came out on top, with two excellent rounds and only a trip during her cross-country round. Murkwater Blizzard came in second, who had originally been the favorite to win despite bolting during his dressage test until a trip during his jumpers round resulted in a nasty fall and subsequent disqualification. Fortunately, the horse was not injured, and he was able to compete successfully the next day in cross country. Tied with him in second place was TRRA Dagworth Maestro, who unfortunately panicked during his dressage test and gave a small rear in an attempt to communicate just how very upset he was with everything. The team attempted to get it together for their show jumping round, but a rider error prevented them from securing a position high enough to redeem the gold, and although he bolted during his cross-country round, the pair had scored well enough to keep their second place result.
Next up was single horse driving, which was certainly an interesting competition to say the least. Fatal Attraction took home first place, with an excellent round that everyone watching was certainly impressed with. In second place was Waiting for Romeo, who was closely rivaling Fatal Attraction's score until a driver error ultimately secured her position. The greatest upset, by far, was Heron Zephyrus; the horse had been certain to place well, but in some sort of freak accident, he fell, and Delph immediately withdrew him from the competition to ensure that he was uninjured and that there was nothing neurological affecting him. Fortunately, the horse was just fine, and tests covered by the RVEC showing facilities revealed that there was nothing anyone had to worry about.
The hunters show followed the driving competition, and RVEC's Follow My Lead came in first with a round clear from events. Close behind him was Mountainside Rush, who also had a lovely round and was simply lacking in the natural cadence that put Follow My Lead in first place. Sierra Watcher, whom everyone had expected to win the round, was unfortunately startled during the very beginning of the competition and bolted, skipping two of the jumps and resulting in her disqualification.
Jumpers was next, and Sierra Watcher certainly redeemed herself by completing a clear, fast round and securing herself the victory before it could even be challenged by any other horses. MR Tenebris Glory and RVEC's Fancy That somehow managed to get the same time, right down to the hundredth of a second -- and although that was a feat in itself, MR Tenebris Glory earned the second-place ribbon during the jump-off, leaving RVEC's Fancy That in third.
The second-to-last event was reining, and Heron Zephyrus swept first place without any sort of competition, despite tripping once and managing to catch himself. Chestnut Wonderland came in second, held back by only her conformation that simply wasn't as suited for reining as Heron Zephyrus' was. RVEC's I'll Be came in third, and his round was also hindered only by his conformation; all in all, reining had been a pleasantly uneventful competition, much to everyone's satisfaction.
Western pleasure was the final event of the day, and BHWF Snowy's Silver Lining wouldn't even be touched by the other competitors with her lovely movement and perfect carriage. RVEC's Seafarers Way was second, and although he tripped, he managed to catch himself and save his place. Cinniúint Óir, unfortunately, bolted upon entering the ring, and because she was a bit of a danger to other horses, she was disqualified from the competition.

I know I certainly had fun with this! ^^
