Music drifts through the venue as Themis walks into the halls, his mask hopefully disguising his features enough. He ended up coming alone but perhaps it's for the best as his eyes instantly lock onto the goal of today, the refreshments. His magic storage bag, safely hidden beneath his jacket, he casually waltzes over to the table and begins scooping food into his storage bag discreetly. Once satisfied with the amount he freeloaded, Themis grabs himself some food and drinks to walk around. Now, he no longer needed to worry about waiting in line. As more fables begin to pour in, he decides to head out to the garden. Perhaps there are some nobles discussing things that they don’t want overheard.

mask design: Lilah's mask may not be as intricate as others' but unique in its own way, for its a faceless, featureless mannequin-like mask of pale white marble covering the entire face, and lacking even eye holes making one wonder how do they see in it; magic no doubt was used in the making of this mask, allowing them to see while remaining entirely featureless on the outside, leaving other party guests pondering what Lilah may be thinking, for others cannot see even their eyes for a slightest hint.

mask design: Killian's mask is short of flashy or impressive. It's a simple thing; pure porcelain and detailed in blue. It shows its age; cracked around one of the eye sockets. Something passed on from generations ago. She ties it to her face delicately with shimmery, translucent blue ribbon. It was meant for someone with a shorter face than she has, and it gives a bit of an uncanny valley effect. Her nose sticks out from the bottom, and the eye holes don't quite match up with her eyes. She can only see through half of her eyes.

response: The glitz and glamor of the masquerade ball light up the twilight sky as fables pour in to claim a spot in the over-crowded event. Nathan was unsure if he'd feel like attending, but the multitude of flyers had persuaded him to reconsider. It's been over a decade since he's been to a royal event like this, and as he approaches the venue, the memories flood his mind as clear as the day he made them. He's never been a regal type, even when he was considered a king. Despite that, he still tries to fit in the best he can by donning a bejeweled mask to avoid suspicion.

Entering the vibrant gilded hall, he spots a fable he's heard many mention and describe before, Lórien. He suspects the young heir is a big player in this city's hidden agenda, so he makes a mental note to find and talk to him before the night is over. Before he wanders too deep into the party, though, he makes plans to visit the gardens as well, after overhearing an excited review of them from another guest. It sounds like the perfect place to escape to if he gets overwhelmed in the crowd, or a place to corner an apprehensive suspect for more info.

Also a bit of backstory because I like to talk about my world: In the main universe that Nathan originates from (my headworld, not fables) He's known for having two sides as well as three different coats! His fable version shows off one of them, but his other two are in the mask. The design in the middle is the amulet he wears that gives him powers and changes his coat to the black one. When using his powers, his eyes also glow red, hence the red tint in the right eye. The right side also lines up with his face scars that he got as he transitioned into a new chapter of his life, when he started staying in his dark coat, making it his idenity.

mask design:
Yasha has adorned themselves with a mask created after the likes of the "Rangsin" (similar to the Bai Hu) which roam the woods they call home. The mask is bone white and pale blue with accents of fiery gold, taking inspiration from the fierce flames the tiger like Rangsin are often gifted with. Yasha is quite fond of these ferocious looking creatures who are in reality, extremely illusive, and only really seen in flashes of white or a flicker or golden flame in the darkness. All depictions of Rangsin are purely speculation as no living soul has yet to see one of these revered beasts up close.
