Her world came to a standstill as she gazed upon this strange magpie’s wares. Onyxdream had never seen a bird of her brother's namesake. Everything seemed so strange to her, all so different and truly unfamiliar, but then something caught her eye… Something twinkling and bright. At the end of a silver chain it seemed to shine with every colour of the rainbow.
The enchanting gem was an Opal and maybe, just maybe, Opalflight was calling to her through this precious gem…

↬ prompt: An ebony flutter, the corvid landed tentatively in front of the blue paws of Gullcry. Eye’s fluttering open, revealing rather crossed blue visionaries, a sense of alarm sent the tom to his feet. The magpie stood, a small leather pouch adorned around its neck. The bird dipped its head, sliding the miniscule bag onto the earth below. Gullcry’s head dipped curiously toward the bird, eyes wide as the creature revealed its trinkets below.
A small silver bell, like that of the one that used to jingle merrily on his collar. It had felt like lifetimes ago, inside that home all by himself. His eyes softened, picking up the bell gently. It jingled familiarly as his mouth clamped around it, lifting it out of the pouch. Without a word, the corvid collected his things and flew off.

Troublemaker Tempest is going to pick some punk jewelry! She’s always wanted spiked stud earrings and a nose ring, because they’d really make her look tough! She has no clue where she can find someone to give her piercings, though; most piercers don’t work on cats, and Slayer has distinctly shut down her idea of “I’ll just pierce my ears and septum myself, it’ll be fine!”

↬ prompt: Jasmineheart watches the magpie with sparkling eyes, her ears alert, her paws digging into the grass beneath her. There are little figurines of animals scattered throughout the trinkets to choose from, and even just seeing them is enough to send a deep, rumbling purr from Jasmineheart's small frame. In the end, the young she-cat would choose a small glass figurine of a giraffe - she has no idea what this animal is, but the tall neck and strange spots intrigues her greatly.

↬ prompt: Mossstar's eyes widened with excitement as he gazed at the silver items placed in front of him. A sick, snarly grin grew on his face and his tail lashed back and forth. He lurked in front of the arrayment of objects. His whiskers twitched as he lowered his haunches and reached out to grab the one furthest from the front.
"This one," Mossstar proudly declared. "I desire this shining object."
"That one?" The mysterious cloaked feline echoed with a soft voice.
"Yes, and all the rest, too," he boldly declared. Mossstar wasted no time as he began to collect the silver artifacts into a pile. His tail never stopped lashing back and forth.
"They say those who act with impulsive greed are the ones who will be the most selfless of them all. Are you this is the action you wish to go with?"
"All of them. These are all mine."
"Very well, then."
The cloaked feline disappeared from the scene, but that mattered not to Mossstar. He gathered his silver items, not once taking notice of the new presence that replaced the one that had vanished only shortly before. With the items all loosely hung from his mouth, the greedy and arrogant leader held his head high as he began to march his way back to camp. He was as arrogant as he was oblivious to the dangers he refused to acknowledge around him.

the magpie refused to leave him alone.
constantly prodding, cold talons closing in the small of his back and beak gently tugging at his curls. coal-streaked wings thrown up in a flurry whenever he tried to leave. but the idiot bird persisted. cawing and cawing and cawing as if the mere sound would bewitch him into taking something from its heap of treasures. fortunately, he had excellent self-control.
… unlike someone else.
“look, hey. bird. magpie?” he hadn’t attempted this route, yet. with a tilt of its head, the magpie spun its onyx gaze to meet his, a glitter in the set of those beady eyes. hopeful. he groaned. “thank you for your offer. it’s nice of you, but i’m not interested.”
another incline of its head ━ more curious this time.
his breath shuddered, shaky. “i just don’t like owing others.”

↬ prompt: badgerstar glanced down at the trinkets, disgust filling his eyes as he screw up his nose.
"trinkets? what use would i even have for them?" he hissed, lowering his head and backing away.
in his leave, stoatpaw crawled out of the darkness, politely asking for a shiny stone before, too, stalking off back to her den.

↬ prompt: Lago immediately knew this was no ordinary prey bird when they saw the magpie swoop down. As the bird landed, it began to spread out a compact horde of small items. When finished, it began to make gestures that Lago eventually discerned as "pick one". There were lots of shiny objects and dazzling stones. So many interesting, complex, and colorful things to catch the eye. But there, partly hidden by a carved rock and blending in with the soil, was a small seed she had not seen since they were a wee kit. Her eyes widened at the incredibly rare and valuable find. Those plants were practically an urban myth these days with no one seeing a plant in manu many years. She looked back at the bird as their paw went to hover over as if to say "You're sure I can take this?". The clever bird nodded and its eyes had new respect and appreciation for its latest customer. She quickly scooped the tiny seed up. "Wait here". Being extra careful to not drop her precious cargo, she sprinted off. When they returned, they handed a small bundle to the generous corvid. "It's not much but there's some energizing snacks and a rare mineral inside" With one last nod, the magpie launched into the sky. Lago was filled with gratitude as they went back to camp to share the story and to confer over the best place to plant their new hope.
