Answer: A spider. A trap could be a web that many people have made the mistake of stepping into several times. Most that set traps don't worry about people or animals stepping into them as that is the whole point of a trap but if it's a delicate web then that would explain why they warned Peaches and me. Everyone hates spiders, for no reason, and so that would explain them being the most feared in the land! Mosquitos are the most dangerous insects as they carry malaria and spiders eat mosquitos! As for the pearls, a spider web often collects dew as the night goes on and it results in a very pretty golden-rainbow effect that many people are drawn to. However, this dew can be a nuisance for the spider, especially smaller ones, as the dew can completely drown them, poor things. Also, tarantulas and many other spiders are nocturnal which would make way for the night setting!
