Extra: “C’mon! C’mon! Adventure and whimsy await us!” Glaggleland happily bounced around as it dragged its new friend with it to The Pit, the other being incredibly confused still. “I’m sure we’ll find whatever you’re looking for down there, heehe!! Maybe we’ll even find something suuuper duper cool! Like a secret lost city! That would be really cool, right? Right?” It turned its head to look at its friend, the other simply tilting their head in response. “Well! Whatever is down there, I know that it’ll be fun finding it with my new friend! Heehee! Now let’s go!!”

Extra:
Hunter was right, he was stupid. He let out a gasp when he finally got home, shaking hard enough to wobble when he stepped. It was as if hunter hadn't been breathing until he was finally in the safety of his house, and the air inside was the only thing he could choke down.
The thing lifted its head and stared at him, only the white eyes visible from its corner of darkness. Hunter ignored it and collapsed in his own bed and curled around himself.
He had been walking in a daze in the pit when his knife suddenly floated up and lodged itself into the wall. It seemed like the world around hunter shook when it did so and all he could do was run.
He ran upwards, not caring for where the exit was in his shaken mind but following pure instinct on the tip of its tail. Animalistic fear grabbed him and dragged him upwards. The urge to go home, go deeper pushed him below. Hunter was being pulled in two directions at once, and he wasn't sure if he would tear or be able to return to one or the other if he were to choose.
When he had run through the entrance, the worker gave him a weird look. Hunter cared not to figure out and instead just kept running, and running. To safety, but he didn't know exactly what that was anymore.
He shifted on his bed to try to settle in for another night of sleeplessness. Staring at the wall, something poked against his leg.
The knife was strapped to his hip once again.
He unstrapped it quickly and threw it away from him, yelping as if it burned his body. He didn't cry, but he considered going to Alice's house to not be so alone in the drowning. He knew if he did she would make him stay out of the pit. Something after this he was sure he was supposed to be doing.
And yet as he closed his eyes he felt just as strong an urge to go, go back in the darkness. Hunter was so, so tired.
But it seemed like the walls of his house, open and weak, were not safe anymore. Like one's eyes getting used to the darkness, Hunter was an adapter. He was a survivor. He needed to return, and confront whatever had tied a rope to his leg to pull him under.
Getting up, he retrieved his blade and inspected it again. Symbols were etched in the hilt and itself, and it had scratches from imbedding itself in the dirt. Confirming that it was the very same blade he had brought down there.
He felt his fear melt away, and he gripped it tightly. There was only tired determination left inside of him, burning like a greek fire.
"My circuits slow... I'm not scared anymore."
