it was an invitation of sorts, inviting her to some land she had never quite heard of. faerendell, and the city of stormire? in spite of her confusion and curiosity, ondine couldn't help but let a smug smirk tug at her lips. but of course she would be invited! who wouldn't want her there?
as she continued to read, several images (of family crests? some sort of political parties, maybe?) caught her attention. she stared at them, one by one, taking in their names and the names of each. virellian, lysandor, lochend, velastri. the latter seemed to pique her interest, what with its cool colors and icy imagery.
it was then that she felt the light tug of water, pulling lightly at the tips of her fins. then all at once, the once light pull turned into a strong suction and yanked her under the surface. ondine was familiar with whirlpools, but this is the first time she had ever encountered one herself. her body barely had time to react before she whirlpool wrenched her directly into its center, the water rushing around the fable louder than ever.
things grew a bit confusing then. just as ondine thought she was doomed, pulled to the depths of this whirlpool that happened to form directly under her, she felt earth beneath her hooves. this wasn't a common feeling, but one that she was at least somewhat familiar with. the water seemed to wash away around her, revealing her form to the crisp air the land had to offer. she slowly opened her eyes, head still in a daze from the intense spinning just moments before. the dizziness made it almost impossible for her to focus on the fact that she had more than her usual two legs. this realization only dawned on her when her head calmed and she attempted to... stand. her face then very quickly met the floor, but the embarrassment seemed to wash off of her as quickly as it came on, for she realized that in place of her once finned-tail, she now had two more legs. just enough to stand.
