///These felines form a somewhat unusual group. Where other cats might form territories, build dens, and mark hunting grounds, the Wayfarers, as their name implies, simply wander from place to place, vagabonds spurred on by a need to survive and the wish of a kitten to find her family again; dust in the wind, tumbleweeds through the desert, stars shifting with the seasons in the sky. Be it field or forest, tiny villages or sprawling cities, rocky canyons or muggy swamps, the tallest mountains or the lowest points of land where the sea and soil meet, they travel together. Because although the comfort of a soft bed and familiar sights might bring ease, home, for them, is the people they've surrounded themselves with.

///To the side of a highway - Not a busy, sprawling turnpike, mind you, but a small and relatively quiet one with a single lane on either side, the sort of old, well-worn route that might have simply been a street at one time had it not been for how far it stretched - in a quiet wood of tall maple, birch, oak, and aspen, where the last fall's leaves still cover the dark soil and clay, soft and damp from the melting of winter's snow, two cats sit. One is young, lost, and exhausted, having fled her pursuers with such speed that the world seemed to become a blur. She'd seen places like this only on the screens her human had shown her while she sat comfortably in the warmth their lap, enjoying a chunk of cured meat. The other is older, grizzled and experienced, having lived in these woods for as long as he can remember, hunted mice and moles in its tunnels, squirrels and songbirds in its branches, fish in its streams... though, if you were to ask him, he would tell you that the latter are really too small and bony to make much of a meal.
